Our defence is frail atm and our midfield hasn't been at its best for quite a few games now. Inspiration has to come from Martial, Mkhi & Mata. I'm gonna go 3-1 to Chelsea
So we can go through ET and maybe penalty shots? This is one time where a draw would be a good result. But I'm sick to death of draws now.
I think that we were pretty good against Arsenal and Spurs at home, better than City the second half and we were equal to Pool during the two games. So we've been poor against Chelsea, yes for sure, and I'll add that away from home, against these sides, we are not that good (Chelsea, Pool, Everton...)
Haha! You can't just say CL spot aside, that's the whole point of winning it. Winning a trophy and at the same time Qualifying for the CL is small time? So by your logic what would you call only finishing 4th to qualify for a competition?
If we cant get Cl via the league EL od the way to go. Second tier pr not its still a European trophy and the one we haven't ever won.
There is nothing small time about qualifying for Champions league. We will be fools to go FA Cup and sacrifice Europa League. Get your shit together ffs.
What exactly is the difference between EL and UEFA cup except the group stage?A lot of teams haven't won it yet. Unless you consider it as the UEFA cup? In that case you'd be wrong because the UEFA cup was really hard to win and was worth fighting for.
The Europa League is just a glorified rejects competition.
What happend last time was a freak. Games don't normally end that early.Would be great if could actually compete this time. Hopefully not hand them goals - nice bonus.
That's somewhat true. Still think our defence (especially with Smalling) is capable of dreadful defending that Chelsea can take full advantage of.What happend last time was a freak. Games don't normally end that early.
Luiz should have seen red too, which would have potentially had a big effect on the game. What happend last time was a freak. Games don't normally end that early.
Don't know but doubt that will happen again. So what about Jones and Bailly then? Have they played much together? That's somewhat true. Still think our defence (especially with Smalling) is capable of dreadful defending that Chelsea can take full advantage of.
Yes, but that was on Fellaini so doesn't count.Luiz should have seen red too, which would have potentially had a big effect on the game.

As for a team I'd like to see.
-DDG-
- Valencia - Bailly - Rojo - Shaw -
- Carrick -
- Herrera - Pogba -
Mkhitaryan - Rashford - Martial -
Why exactly?Exactly what Chelsea would hope to see us play (or anyone they are up against tbf). Would get smashed.
Our wide forwards getting pulled back consistently with their wingbacks, leaving a 19 year old isolated against 3 solid, experienced defenders. Our FBs not getting into attack enough as Pedro and Hazard wouldn't need to track back too much. We'd effectively be trying to beat them down the middle with Pogba as the extra guy to create chances, but the middle is exactly what they've got covered by playing 3 at the back. They have basically been ripping teams apart who play this way all year. Even if they only get a few chances, the space opens up for them so well because they leave numbers in attack that they are putting away the easy chances. Why exactly?

Valencia - Bailly - Rojo - ShawHow would you lines us up?
4-4-2 and midfield 2? Now that they would really wish..Valencia - Bailly - Rojo - Shaw
Lingard - Herrera - Pogba - Young
Mhki - Rashford
Young was the toughest decision because we desperately need to play wide players who can cross against their back line, but we don't actually have anyone capable of that on the left side, so I've gone for the best all around cover.
Ok, please return the favor and explain to me why they would wish that?4-4-2 and midfield 2? Now that they would really wish..
That line-up is ridiculously open. They would destroy us with their counter-attacks, easily.Ok, please return the favor and explain to me why they would wish that?
Is it not obvious?Ok, please return the favor and explain to me why they would wish that?

Having said that, I think they'll win easily anyway so we might as well go toe to toe, try to make it an entertaining game. Mourinho is unlikely to go that route though.
?? I'm waiting.Is it not obvious?
I think this could be a good shout. At the moment using 4-2-3-1 or 4 -3-3 would still leave us weaker against chelsea's overload (as carrick has been poor lately). Might as well go for a defensive 4-4-2 and have young and Lingard check their wingbacks and hope miki can give us one good break4-4-2 and midfield 2? Now that they would really wish..
I think when the UEFA cup was in, the CL only had real champions so all the other teams below (2nd, 3rd, 4th...) were in the UEFA cup. It made the cup quite strong, if I recall. What exactly is the difference between EL and UEFA cup except the group stage?
And as I said it's a way to get CL.
EL is a good competition and I want United to win it. It's certainly not some reject competition or something.I think when the UEFA cup was in, the CL only had real champions so all the other teams below (2nd, 3rd, 4th...) were in the UEFA cup. It made the cup quite strong, if I recall.
The midfield would be disastrous. Herrera and Pogba in a two against any of the big sides leaves us exposed and neither of the wide players offer any creativity. Unless we put 9 or 10 men behind the ball it'd fail spectacularly.?? I'm waiting.
