    I would go 4-3-1-2.

The 1-2 being Mata: Mkhiharyan, Lingard provided that Rashford is out.

My guess is that Carrick will sit. No doubt lineup choices will be affected by Thursday's match.

Sounds a bit too aggressive for a team in average form and depleted of strikers considering that we're playing the champions-in-waiting, away from home and the history of this fixture. Don't you think?

It all comes down to how we start the game. If we don't concede in first 30-35 minutes, we have a real chance of winning this game. I would not mind a scrappy hard fought 1-0. We are due a scrappy win at SB for a long time. Hopefully, it comes in this game.

That's how I feel. Obviously want us to win but if we lose a narrow 1-0 I won't be too sad. If we get pasted like last time though that'll get embarrassing.

    Same here.
I have already accepted defeat (for logical reasons which any sane football fan can understand), but I want it to be respectful, if only that our players don't lose confidence for our future games/comps.

I often wonder why pundits like to bring up history, as if it has any effect on the outcome of a game in the present day. How does a loss to Chelsea some 10 years ago affect the team's chances today? Totally no relevance whatsoever.

You are correct there. But despite that, you have to admit our chances are grim considering all the factors. And it's not that easy to execute what you said on the pitch. It's not just a wave of the wand and everything was perfect again scenario. While those words were certainly indicative of a proud and extremely optimistic fan, it's not really how it works.

jesus calm down:lol: Rooney is no loss,

    Normally I'd agree.
If we had Ibra, Martial or Rashford available, I'd rather they play ahead of Rooney.
But with us having no other option, but Fellaini or Lingard, I do feel that Rooney is more likely to score a goal.

Sorry if already posted but rumours that rashford is with the squad and will be in contention to play some part.

    Mourinho mind games?
Dramatic recovery from rashford following stinging criticism from 'treble winning'?

Have you ever actually played football at any level?
Injuries happen, it is a contact sport.
I think you are going way over the top with trying to blame somebody , Jones is a physical player we have always known that.
Where does the reckless come in to it, nobody know how the injury happened.

I think he is frustrated that Jones cost us a penalty 2 games ago. In the last game he allowed a player to score. And for this game (before it has even started), he injured our only available striker.

If true it would be a master stroke by Mourinho, as Conte would probably have trained his team to prepare for Mhkitaryan or Fellaini upfront.

I didn't criticize Rashford. I criticized Jones and asked for more clarifications from the medical team.

    ------------De Gea
    Valencia--Jones--Rojo--Blind
    Carrick--Herrera---pogba
    mata--Mkhitaryan--Fellaini

I'd do this. Space is behind their wing backs. So sit tight then when we get the ball Felliani hugs the touchline. Pass to Pogba and he finds Felliani. Back up from Blind and Pogba. I'd move the front players around. Let Felliaini go on the right sometimes and Mata central. Its weird but got to try something.

Wtf is going on here?

We have no strikers and are due to play the best team in the country, in a knockout FA Cup game, which will most likely see us out of the competition by the end of the day.
    That about sums it up.

"Yeah, it was that night in Moscow when big John Terry got up to take a penalty."
"Oh, we've not had that one yet."

Whatever team plays let's just hope they play in the right spirit, fight for every ball, and approach the game with high intensity. We need to exploit the weakness of Alonso and Moses on the flanks. We need to press them like crazy and mark Hazard out of the game. Every single time he touches the ball he needs to be surrounded by a sea of red shirts. Foul them if we must. Blood and guts are what we need. Overwhelm them. It has to be a shock and awe approach, the likes of which they never expected. Pressure for 90 mins and beat them into submission.

Hopefully this time their fans will show a bit more respect for Mourinho who they ought to be grateful for. But if they insist on disrespecting him then maybe respect will need to be beaten into them. Goal after goal landing in their net. That will teach them to bloody appreciate what others have done for them.

    Bravo!

    Well we have Mourinho.

And it's not Juventus, it's Chelsea. Juventus had Pogba.

Today Pogba is lining up for us and not against us.

I translate from smallchildishclubbish to plain english for you: better you walk carefully with a stick in the ass tonight and start fouling hard & whining at referee since beginning, so that you avoid they hammer you on play or they are awarded a dodgy penalty to scrape through in spite of your heroics and against the will of the losers from half a country.

Stick Fellaini up front and see if we can beat our record of 90 crosses in one match.

This should be read out to the players before they line up in the tunnel, to play. :)

Wanted Fosu mensah to start this game at right back and play AV on the right wing to counter attack with real pace and directness from the wings .
