Cardiff City Football Club (also known as The Bluebirds) is a professional association football club based in the city of Cardiff, Wales. Cardiff City was formed in 1899 by Bartley Wilson as a way of keeping players from the Riverside Cricket Club together and in shape during the winter months. In 1902, Riverside A.F.C. merged with Riverside Albion, but it took another three years till they won their first trophy, the Bevan Shield. In 1905 Cardiff was granted city status by King Edward VII, and as a result the club put in a request to change their name to Cardiff City, but the request was turned down as they were deemed to be not playing at a high enough level. To combat this they arranged to join the South Wales Amateur League in 1907 and the following year they were granted permission to change the name of the club to Cardiff City.

During the 1960s, Cardiff began qualifying for European competition for the first time as a result of winning the Welsh Cup.They went on to reach the quarter-finals before being knocked out by Real Zaragoza. Two years later the team would go on to reach the semi-final of the Cup Winners Cup, the furthest any Welsh side has advanced in European competition, after victories over Shamrock Rovers, NAC Breda, and Torpedo Moscow set up a tie with German side Hamburg. And During the 1970–71 season, Cardiff reached the quarter-finals of the Cup Winners Cup where they faced Spanish side Real Madrid. Cardiff City's most significant rivalry is with nearby neighbours Swansea City, known as the South Wales derby, with the two sides having played each other over 100 times in all competitions. Further afield, the club has a rivalry with Bristol City, known as the Severnside derby, and to a lesser extent, Bristol Rovers.

    Erm...I think we'll win.

League is pretty much pointless at this point. Hope we see Martial and Mata start.

If Lukaku does not start, we'll definitely win.
Lukaku simply is not good enough and his poor form seems to be permanent.

This how Zidane will line up?

    De Gea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Bailly - Shaw
    Fred - Herrera - Pogba
    Pereira - Rashford - Martial

Could be anything this one. Cardiff are shit but so were Palace.

Be interesting to see how we do against a team at our current level.

Cardiff is the next team with a worse goals against record than us and they're sitting in 16th.

We should be able to beat them but I'm sensing the club and fans will be well up for it and maybe we'll struggle a bit.

Going a goal down inside 30 mins has been customary for United.

I pray Martial and Rashford start and leave the hod carrier at home or drop him off at the builders yard.

Fun times when Warnock is the most likeable manager in a match.

I live 5 minutes from the stadium, hopefully I'll see the plane with the Jose out banner on it.

We'll win, and suddenly it'll feel as if the pressure is off him again and the board will back him unanimously again.

Not what will happen but I’d play

    De Gea
    Dalot - Bailly - Lindelof - Young
    Herrera - Andreas - Pogba
    Mata - Rashford - Martial

Think you'll win comfortably, will be similar game and result to Burnley away imo.

Cardiff have had good home form recently but it's not a team that will stretch and move your defence around with their movement.

Will just be long balls and throw ins slung into the box so you'll be fine with Smalling-Jones as the pairing if they're available.

    0-2.

It really doesn't matter, win a boring 1.0 or draw/lose. We aren't going anywhere, watch and support the team as always but don't look forward to United anymore. It be feels like a chore, see maybe two moments of brilliance in an hour and a half. No good passages of play, killing my love for a game I love playing and watching. Maybe someone else is in charge, we can hope it's Christmas ha..

We’ll win and the deluded fans on here will tell us Mourinho has got the team firing on all cylinders again...

I know I’m going to be incredibly disappointed, but I need to wake up to news of his sacking tomorrow.

The season’s a write off, don’t care about the results until he’s gone

I'm not sure about what the line-up will be at the moment as we seem to pick up injuries after every game and Mourinho thought Lukaku played well so it's like bizzaro world right now. I think this might actually be a draw, they'll be up for it at their ground and we are ripe to feck up again.

And here's a few more line up possibilities under the new manager: adding to @Samid s Zizou attempt

    Carrick
    DDG
    Dalot Bailly Smalling Shaw
    Andreas Fred Mata
    Pogba
    Rashford Martial

    Conte
    DDG
    Bailly Lindelof Smalling
    Dalot - Fred - Pogba - Shaw
    Rashford Martial Lingard

    Jardim
    DDG
    Dalot Bailly Lindelof Shaw
    Mata Herrera Pogba Fred
    Rashford Martial

What do we think is the best ?

All these line ups are funny, "what would this line up be if this manger was in charge". Here's how all managers will line up. Because this club is cursed.

    DDG
    Shaw, Jones, Smalling, Valencia
    Matic, Fellaini, Pogba
    Lingard, Lukaku, Rashford.

2-2, expect another terrible performance but will get bailed out by Martial or someone else producing some moments of individuality.

We have what looks like 4 ‘easy’ games but be surprised if we get more than 7/8 points from them.

I can easily see this being a score draw. We are generally awful away to recently promoted teams (Brighton x 2 and Huddersfield soring to mind).

Win lose or draw, it will be a shocking performance

Will be frustrating when we win and have our fans being naively positive again. Was unbearable after the Fulham game. Just counting the minutes till Jose is gone.

If we somehow manage to lose this game, the players should bear full responsibility. Even in our terrible form, the players should have no problem winning against the worst team I've seen play in the Premier league.

    Total random off topic point!

But remember when Jose used to name his starting 11 at Chelsea and everyone knew what he was going to say?

I wish for a United manager who can actually tell the media his best team.

The truth is non of us have a clue who is going to play.

He isn't gone until the end of the season no point moping about it. We have a run of what should be very easy games now up until we play Liverpool again end of Feb.

Hoping we get Martial back fit and firing and we get some consistency in selection again as we've looked better when not chopping and changing constantly.

Arsenal are no better than us so in this easy period we should be overtaking them and closing the gap ahead.

Top 4 is so far away now, I hope he just scraps whatever tactics he's tried implementing and just throws everything at the rest of the season. Go all out attack against every team, especially those below us. It might even get the best out of the players just to motivate and tell them to outscore the opposition. Feck the rest.
