I'm not looking forward to either this or the Arsenal match. There are too many unknowns and too many non-football factors at play.

If this match were any other week, I'd be confident of a United win. But with the fixture congestion, I honestly have no idea what kind of team will show up. I'm not expecting fluid football. Can Martial and Rashford maintain their stamina for counter attacking sprints in 4 games over 10 days? I doubt it.

The 48 hour is no excuse! We have the better squad to Burnley and they had a much tougher game 48 hours ago

We have had our high with Newcastle...Now it's comedown time with Burnley..

It's Festive season and United are the Robin hood of the Premier League.

It's an excuse for both teams. Don't expect either to be near their best.
Nah even Ole said that we should be in better shape than Burnley given we had our game wrapped earlier and they did have a tougher game than ours.

Lindeløf and Maguire both "rested" second half against Newcastle, and there is no way Ole will play Jones, when he does not even trust him to play in the league cup. Young or Williams in for Shaw. I think we can expect a physical match, so give Fred a rest and play Pogba and Matic. Except from first half against AZ, Matic has done alright since his return. I think this will be the team:

    ----------------- De Gea ----------------
    Bissaka - Lindeløf - Mcguire - Young
    ----------- Pogba - Matic ------------
    - James - Lingard - Rashford -
    --------------- Martial -----------------

    Subs:

    Williams for Bissaka
    Pereira for Pogba
    Greenwood for Martial

I'd love it if Karen Carney was co-commentating. Honestly think she's the best pundit on TV. Easily the best thing about BT's coverage.

We won our last game so it's a given we will crash and burn here. Burnley to win 2-0.

    It's not that simple.

Yes, United at 100% is better than Burnley at 100%

But today, United are at 80% and Burnley are at 70%

How will that translate to the pitch? I don't think it's as easy as saying that United will be better just because they're slightly less fatigued.

The real question is: how will the fatigue affect United's gameplan and Burnley's gameplan, respectively?

This United team is all about counterattacking, but is relatively poor when the pace drops and the spaces close up. If we're playing at 80% fitness, I've got a worry that we'll end up being at only 50% effectiveness.

    God, I hate the MEN:

Paul Pogba was not pictured arriving at Carrington but photographers confirmed to the MEN that he was in attendance, as was Brandon Williams.

My decision to put him in the team was based on that. Urgh.

No Pogba and Scott in one go means our midfield is totally screwed. Surely he's not fecking injured again ?

If we lose today Ole should be held entirely responsible and if we win then he should be given the credit too. But this is a game we must win.

Skys ports saying Pogba not travelled to Turf moor. - wtf. McT out, i see a difficult evening ahead.

Letting Herrera leave and not replacing him should cost Woodward and Ole their jobs.

    Useless cants.
