I actually think we’re playing quite well given the circumstances. No rest and Burnley just kicking the shit into our players. Heard the commentator saying their home record is pretty good too

Could have used Pogba though.. it isnt like a lot was created this game. Pogba would have made the game less boring at the very least.

Or been injured again because it's Burnley.
    Too risky to start him.

Need a second goal, can see Burnley proper lumping the long balls in.
    Dirty fecks.

I think we have worked on maintaining width against low block teams and it's starting to bear fruit. Williams has got their RB on toast. Delivered some lovely balls

Very decent half. Controlled possession, comfortable on the ball and we've created a few chances. Job well done so far.

Fred and Williams stand out performers so far, and Pereira and James have been a nuisance too

    Well, there's another porky.

He runs into those positions plenty of times during games. However, without Pogba, he rarely gets played in because our players either lack the vision or belief they can execute the pass so they opt for the easy option.
No he doesnt. This insistence on pretending he's got great movement just because some of you here have a soft spot for him is just silly. If he made these runs, occasionally, when we get to the byline and get the ball across the front of the keeper, we'd score. It never happens. He's always a yard behind where he should be, and no amount of excuses or fingers in ears will change that. It's a shame, I actually rate Martial and have defended him on here plenty of times, but until he starts putting in those extra yards he'll never make that step up from being a good striker, to a great one.

Knocking the ball around nicely so far, avoiding Burnley's "keen" press.

Goal a bit out of the blue, but we're clearly dominating.

It'll have to open up when Burnley come out for an equaliser, so our pace lads may well get some joy.

We need another goal. More Burnley time wasting would be unbearable if they get one back.

Decent half. Burnley have set up not to lose so its great that we were able to get a goal.

Can imagine we'll be bombarded with aerial balls for most of the second half. Hopefully we can get the second.

They have absolutely nothing to offer in offense except those long balls. We just need to avoid some stupid mistakes, and hopefully score another one and close the game.

Why is Pogba not even on the bench?
    Cause he's watching from Madrid

Could be 3-0 with Martial shot blocked on the line by a defender, and Rashford shot hitting outside of the post.

If Ole has left Pogba out of the squad to save him for Arsenil then he's an idiot. If he's injured again then fair play

This is your second once. Remember what happened the last time?

You can't write 'Arsenil' and then say Ole is an idiot in the same sentence. You just can't.

I'm happy to explain why Pogba has been left out for this one though. There is a excellent medical reason for it, and it has nothing to do with Pogba being injured. He is not injured.

Get Rashford and Williams to run at Bardsley now that he's on a yellow.

Refs allow Burnley to get away with being a dirty team because they have a reputation for it. It’s stupid.

Deserved half time lead for United. Pereira excellent at how he pressured the Burnley lad into a mistake. As expected from Martial a cool finish. Fred and Williams looking very lively.

As for Burnley, playing at home and seem happy with their 29% possession and relying on set pieces. Foul foul and more fouls was that half from them and about time the ref starts showing more cards

    Burnley play disgusting football.

Utd controlling the game, making it very hard for them to get any pressure on our backline, Fred having a great game.

Good first half. Defence has had pretty much nothing to do. Fred has been good in the middle.

Williams has been amazing, and Martial has been ace. Would like Rashford and James especially to be involved more.

Also wonderful pass to Martial by Periera. Not his biggest fan, but his perseverance and pass there was cracking.

Dominant but only 0-1. Gotta nuke these hackers in the second half.

Williams is the future at LB for us.

Our build up play in the final third has improved, although we didn't create much but at least we weren't sloppy with our passing.

William looked comfortable with his left foot and he should try cross with his left more often

What a difference it makes to us having an attacking threat at LB. Williams is a really exciting player and brilliant prospect. Very handy that he can play on both flanks as well.

Did you guys also notice how now, when the full back have the ball, instead of always passing to the winger who is then pressured with a player on his back, we get the winger to go wide and systematically, Martial or Pereira are coming in between the line to either get the ball and pass it back in one touch or face the goal and move it up? It's something I like to see here.

Decent first half but still can do much better. Just speed up the tempo. Williams has acres of space on the left we need someone to join up the attacks with him. Everyone can see what Burnley are all about. Set pieces, keeping the ball alive and long balls. Lindelof and maguire have done well at the back. Fred keeps it simple. That free kick was shocking. Matic has been good considering hes hardly played. Need that second goal. The longer it stays 1.0 the more chance Burnley will grow in confidence.

Hahaha. My emojies not dropping down on my mobile for some reason. That should be the greeny laughing guy!

Still not great management though. We where 2 up versus Newcastle. Was no need to bring him in if it meant he wouldn't be available today.
No Ole got this one spot on. Burnley are massive thugs, encouraged by the refs. They would likely crock him again given half a chance. He's much better off missing this match.

We haven’t really been gifted a goal. We pressed them into a mistake. That’s the idea behind the high press.

    Williams was excellent.
