I'm someone who has been completely over Martial but he has been ok in that half, Rashford too apart from finishing.

The problem is in the middle of the pitch.

Bad end to the half but otherwise quite good?

Need to make sure we start well second half which we freaking never do.

We’re not playing badly but as soon as we get in the final third things turn to shit. Our finishing is atrocious, if it’s not off target then we’re blasting them straight at the keeper. A top striker is an absolute must.

Really something that we can choose between Martial and Werghorst as who to start up front, at least Wout is what he is but lazy joggin zero aggression Martial is another level of incompetence up front and he's got many of those sloppy games in possession too. Really useless at hold up play and any finishing today..

Player with some pressing ability would today give us three 4 good chances to score easy goal, yet he's joggin around with zero acceleration.

Same story game after game after game. Getting absolutely sick of it.
Poor finishing leaving the game in the balance rather than putting it to bed. Brighton will come out second half and put one past us and we’ll turn to shit, conceding 2 more

Good in general by United. Brighton are excellent to be fair. Could go either way - Would be disappointed to see us lose. Their defence capable of ropey moments- let’s hope we can profit from one.

At some point we have to question if Rashford is a player that we design the rest of our attack around to accommodate, or if we want to get a more impressive player in another position that he has to accommodate to

I don't think the club will really allow him to leave because he's a very good player from the academy and all that narrative. It'll take a massive call under EtH or whoever to bin him off for the greater good of the team, which I'd be fine with but it's obviously no guarantee.

Equal game so far. We had more chances, but We made more mistakes too. About 5 or 6 players of ours are having a mediocre game

Better performance than I expected so far, despite all the usual sloppiness.

Of course we all know the second half is going to be awful, as is tradition.
But totally wasteful. Martial is a 3/10, Antony 5/10, Rashford 6.5/10.

The chemistry at the front is awful. Despite a having some chances we could do so much better if they stopped playing like a bunch of individuals.

Entertaining half. Our new tactic of passing straight to the feet of the other team does not appear to be paying dividends just yet. We created some good chances, should be ahead 3 goals.

We've been ok really. Fairly close game but we've had more chances and matched their intensity so far. Very open game still, but they've not looked dangerous overall. Shaw has done well at CB again

Mitoma seems to get away with so much. Blatant dive in the first half where he waited to fall over AWB's leg, and also hacked someone only for the ref to play the advantage.

People opine that we’ll get our arses handed to us this lot and then when we play well and should probably be beating them at half time people opine that we’re not good enough. Make it make sense :wenger:

Van Der Sar has fleeced us over the Antony valuation. Such a timid player

Thought we played really well in parts, just missing the finishing touch. Could've had three goals easily on another day with better finishing, but same old, same old. Marriner as always incredibly biased, he's such a crap ref, even worse than most of the others around.

Wan Bissak should have the ultimately last season and sol if he cannot sort his confidence and defending. So annoying he leaves his player too far away from him. It's as if noone ever mention this to him. Letting in crosses and get himself dribbled on the outside for fun.. Of cours he can occassionally recover with a brilliant sliding tackle but mostly he's just defending on the back foot putting us under pressure.

Martial getting more stick than he deserves tbh. The 5 the MEN gave his is unfair as well, probably been a 6.5, nothing special but had a couple of openings which is what you want from a striker.

If we can get him in again in the second half, then we're doing the right things. Hopefully he takes one.

Casemiro really needs to watch himself, went for a nibble whilst already on a yellow, if that connects he's in trouble.

If we start getting more space in behind we’d pull away. I see it going the opposite way though. It’s a shame we didn’t get a goal as we would have if we were more clinical and we’d have them right where we want them.

you know i still dont understand how thta isnt a foul on the martial chance. If that is a pass to somewhere else on the field and you come in and completely miss the ball and wipe the player out, they call a foul. Martial does get the shot off but is taken out immediately after.

Our options are so bad upfront that we play Wout upfront….
Wout has scored over 15 goals in 3 of his 4 seasons in the Bundesliga. Start suggesting top strikers, because everyone keeps saying get someone cheaper even though they clearly don't know any alternatives. Toney is the only viable one I could think of and he has issues with the law, isn't that much younger than Kane and probably wouldn't even be much cheaper

This Sky loving for Brighton is a bit odd. They’ve been fabulous that half apparently.

Martial's been ok, don't know what the feck some of you been watching.

Some people on here need to learn how to analyize a game and see what the tactics are it’s clear as day Martial is covering the central passing option and semi pressing their cbs so that they don’t play around him. What you guys want is clearly not what Ten Hag wants.

No way Kane is coming to United. He is a Spurs man and United right now are not a big step up for him.

They aren't going to be in the CL and he'll never win anything at Spurs. If he wants to be remembered as the best player in England to never win a trophy then he stays at Spurs.

I don't think the club will really allow him to leave because he's a very good player from the academy and all that narrative. It'll take a massive call under EtH or whoever to bin him off for the greater good of the team, which I'd be fine with but it's obviously no guarantee.

You must be out of your mind to want to get rid of one of the best left wingers in the world.

Fine half though missed few good chances.

Casemiro passing has been so poor, tough to watch it. And he's on a yellow so that's a worry for 2nd half. Have to keep it up in the second.

If I was a neutral I'd have enjoyed this game so far, entertaining and at moments end to end stuff.

If Brighton decide to bypass their midfield and go long they will cause us so many problems. With them playing from the back, the pitch becomes extremely big for them and we are pressing them effectively. I dont if it's only me but it seems all second balls fall for Brighton players.

But we are playing well everything held constant. A elite striker and 2 controlling midfielders we will transform this team immensely.

Mitoma seems to get away with so much. Blatant dive in the first half where he waited to fall over AWB's leg, and also hacked someone only for the ref to play the advantage.

He was the one I think who was stomped on by the Spurs player, which denied them a penalty. Since then, especially the FA Cup match against United, refs have been leient for Brighton.
