at least Morgan is back. Herrera is listed as doubtful.

Any link to the bolded bit? I thought it was other way round? Herrera should be back for this one given we know he was back in training on Tuesday but Morgan is 50-50.

According to physioroom: Schneiderlin, Rooney, Herrera and Jones are all expected to be back on the 12th. Please be true
Physioroom's expected back date is estimate depending on type of injury, they rarely have any inside info. We will find out more in press conf. I guess.

If Rooney, Morgan and Herrera are back it will be great lift to the team with number of 'experienced' options. Also Morgan along with Carrick will be a good CB pairing compared to having forced to play Afroman there.

Merson is back to predicting 1-1. Poor guy predicted a a very very rare 2-0 win against West Ham and Utd made a mess of it. So he is back to 1-1, as he has no clue what could happen

Thank feck Schneiderlin's back for this. Will probably see something like:

    -------------- De Gea
    Varela - McNair - Blind - Young
    ------- Carrick - Schneiderlin
    Lingard ------ Mata ---- Memphis
    -------------- Martial

Got a feeling Carrick will drop into centre back, Fellaini in midfield next to Morgan

    confirmed?

    De Gea
    Varela--McNair--Blind--BoJack
    Carrick--Schneiderlin
    Lingard--Mata--Memphis
    Martial

subs: Romero, Tuanzebe, Goss, Fellaini, Young, Pereira +1 other sub from Harrop/Weir/Rashford.

    if a 3-4-1-2 then...
    De Gea
    McNair--Carrick--Blind
    Varela--Fellaini--Schneiderlin--Young
    Mata
    Martial--Memphis

Would go 4-1-4-1 I think if Schneiderlin is back...

    De Gea
    Varela McNair Blind Young
    Carrick
    Lingard Mata Schneiderlin Memphis
    Martial

I know that's pretty aggressive but I think with Schniederlin slightly more advanced it presses Bournemouth back to take the pressure off McNair and Varela who can deal with a lone striker better. It can then release Memphis, Lingard and Martial forward with Juan coming short and central. Fellaini back to the bench is a logical move.

Bournemouth have the joint worst defensive record in the league by the way. So we should really be looking to score here.

Mind you... Newcastle are the team they share that stat with... So there you go.

    Ddg

    Varela McNair. Carrick. Blind. Jackson

    Schneiderlin

    Mata. Lingard

    Martial. Depay

Prefer seeing us play the young players rather than watching fellaini play. Hope varela and Jackson keep their place.

Why is it when we get an injury, they can never miss just one match? Drogba used to go from excruciating pain to running about normally in 90 seconds

Yeah like the time he got kicked in the chest by Evans, had a mini heart attack while lying on the pitch, and then got up and played the rest of the game without a problem. :p

    Assuming fitness:

    De Gea
    Varela Carrick Blind Jackson
    Herrera Schneiderlin
    Lingard Mata Memphis
    Martial

I just can't believe some fans will even contemplate the idea of having Fellaini in their XI. Recipe for disaster!

    -------De Gea
    Varela McNair Blind Young
    ---Schneiderlin Carrick
    --Lingard Mata Memphis
    --------Martial

    1 -1

Although I believe this is a must win game, injuries or not.
If we lose I think the pressure on van Gaal will be 10 fold.

Not sure how good Perieira is playing more deeper? Has looked impressive in advanced positions. Very surprised he hasn't been given more game time there and if he can't get a game further up then what chance has he got of playing even deeper

Maybe it could work if we play a 3 man midfield, how about:

    -------------De Gea---------------
    Varela--Carrick--Blind--Young
    -----------Schneiderlin------------
    -----Mata-------------Pereira------
    Lingard-----------------Memphis
    ------------Martial--------------

    Or is that too lightweight?

I would rather see us go out and try win the game, regardless of the consequences at the back. Even while holding a defensive 'shape' the team looks very susceptible to losing goals these days. West Ham hitting the post twice last week was very fortunate and could've been another loss.

I'd much prefer to see us risking things for 3 points instead of trying to play it safe for 1 point, while looking just as likely to concede. At least on Tuesday we attacked and looked dangerous going forward.

Surely Smalling, Shaw and Valencia would be in there assuming fitness?

All are out, as everyone knows. I wouldn't have listed Borthwick-Jackson had I been able to safely assume Shaw had made a miracle recovery to full fitness in the last few hours.

It appears Herrera is not fit yet.

yeah I think Carrick will play CB tomorrow

Only if it moves Blind to left back.

Blind and Carrick would be a crazy combo. Although obviously McNair plus anyone isn't magic.

But some of the combos look truly scary, at least Carrick and Blind in there would give us some sort of experience.

2 rookie full backs, Blind and McNair screams dangerous.
