Van gaal is a lucky boy that this match is away from home. Very lucky indeed.

Do we have XI fit players or do we give them a walkover?

    Let's try this:

    De Gea
    McNair Carrick Blind
    Varela Pereira Fellaini Young
    Mata Martial Lingard
    Holy shit!

    Defend, defend, defend...

0-0 would be nice. Thanks, Louis!

too many injuries, squad morale is at an all time low.

    2-1 bournemouth

considering injuries, would take a 0-0 now.

That's where I'm at faith wise atm :(

It reminds me the game few years ago with a central defense of Carrick - Fletcher. We lost 3-0 that day, it was terrible.

We'll play for sure 3-5-2 with the amount of injuries we have... and we'll try to score a goal and rely on DDG to save us once again.

    ---------------------------------De Gea--------------------------------
    -----------Mc Nightmare------Carrick-------Blind--------------------
    Varela---------------Schweinie-------Fellaini-------------------Young
    ----------------------------------Mata----------------------------------
    -----------------------Martial----------Memphis-----------------------

I think that Bastian suspension will be after this weekend ? Or if it's the case it will depend of Rooney coming back earlier and playing there, or Morgan also in this position.

I can see this happening, but I think Rooney is back for this.

    So the other alternative is:

    Varela - McNair - Blind - CBJ/Young
    ---------Carrick---BFS
    Mata - Fellaini/Rooney - Memphis/Young
    --------Martial

As good a chance as they'll ever have to beat us with the amount of injuries we have.

Again, need Martial to have a good game. Not as confident as I was about this as compared to a few weeks back.

This is where a top class manager has to show his mettle.
With a bit of luck, we must aim for a win.
Scoring zero or one goals a game, is a huge problem for us right now.
Relying on us not to concede a goal, puts a lot of pressure on our team.

I still trust LVG and hope he has learnt from yesterday (we should've beaten PSV in our home game a few weeks back - that was a winnable game, which we guided to a 0-0 scoreline).

We desperately need to win this one, you know times are hard when you're not confident playing against Bournemouth.

    2-0 Bournemouth.

Our injuries are crippling, morale is pretty low and our players lack confidence. Contrast this with Bournemouth, who are riding a wave after beating Chelsea, are incredibly hard-working and organised (they'll basically hound us for 90 minutes, and we don't like being hounded) and yeah... can see this being very tough for us.

Also, every newly promoted team always have that one game at home that makes their season... I think this will be Bournemouths.

If we are serious for the title, we should see a side with a point to prove this weekend. I feel that how we respond will be the season defining moment.
    The stage is yours, LVG.

When have we ever responded under LVG? It'll be the same old shit again.

Even for a stubborn man like LVG the CL exit should be a 9 rector scale wake up earthquake alarm call.

We haven't conceded more than one goal in the league since Arsenal

Call me dillusional but I think the last two games have been encouraging in terms of tempo and attacking intent. Reckon we will win 2-1

I see a 2-3 away win in my crystal ball. It will be a fun game with goals, but no clean sheet. Sorry, DDG.

You are right - that we have to respond in some way.
But in truth, our players are wimps, not fighters.
The most obvious time we could've responded was in our fist PSV game, after Shaw broke his leg,
We should've responded like crazed animals in the 2nd half. But what we actually did was play like wimps. No fight. No spirit and lost the game, with a quiet whimper.

I think LVG needs to bring in some players with fighting spirit, who can dish out some physical stuff, on the pitch. Every great team of the past has had some "enforcers". Our team is made of a bunch of nice guys, who couldn't enforce a parking ticket.

Before the game starts and our players line up in the tunnel, they are shaking hands, laughing and joking with the opponents. With this nice-guy attitude, there is no way they can do the dirty stuff on the pitch a few minutes later. I just feel that if we had a 2 talismanic/combative players in our team, it would make a massive difference. Having quality attacking players also helps.

The only recent positive (regards to responding to adversity), was when we were drawing against West Brom (was it) and Bastian forced an own goal. The other positive was yesterday's game where we did take the fight to our opponents. So, maybe, our team are becoming more fierce - only time will tell, though.

We're decimated by injuries and will have a hangover after exiting the CL. Bournemouth are coming off a historic win at Stamford Bridge. We'll be dropping points I think.

I've said it before, but Televised games away at the promoted teams are a nightmare. The atmosphere is always loud and the fans right up for it. This will be no different and considering our injuries and form, I'm not confident at all. The only encouragement I have is that Martial, Memphis, Lingard and Mata looked quite creative last night and hopefully with Bournemouth's style of play they can create a few chances.

With the injuries we have I just don't see how we are going to win this match. I hope I'm wrong. But our defence is a shambles and if a couple of our midfielders aren't back our midfield would be a shambles too.

This is not going to be fun. We barely have enough defenders to field a team.

    deGea
    Varela McNair Blind Darmian
    Carrick Schweinsteiger
    Lingard Mata Young

    Watford.

I'd love to see us come out and blitz them in the first half. Snatch a couple goals, then feel free to play safety first possession for all I care. Worrying trend this season has been scoring and then immediately conceding. I'd like to see an end to that weak mentality.

Not sure if I've missed any injury updates, but how can Darmian play? He limped off clearly with a hamstring stain! (although the sh!T commentator talked of a calf issue).
Smalling sort of lumbed around up front, is he deffo out?

How many defenders do we have to buy, to not have this every single season!

I voted 1-0 for Bournemouth, whatever line-up we have won't make much difference.

Yeah I forgot about him. Although LvG said they very likely won't play we probably won't know the extent of injuries until he gets a physio report and updated in his press conference.
