I like seeing this more direct approach rather than sideway passing. We need to keep going and take more risk up front

I'd quite like to see Powell come on maybe for Fellani if he is still a bit erratic in the second half. Mata has been a bit hit and miss today I think too.

Mata needs to step it up, he should be pulling the strings for us yet he's missing again.

Young on for Mata and switch things round. Pace of the game and their high line is leaving Mata behind.

The right substitute is probably Schneiderlin for Mata. Fellaini has the physicality to disrupt their defence, and getting him out of the midfield two will free up our transition play.

This is some boring match, honestly. It was decent till we equalised. Now it's back to the usual snooze control.

Yeah I don't get the hype with Verela. Really quite limited player
Dear God, is there really a hype around him? Very poor player. At the age of 22 years and 9 months he has played 2 or 3 games at the top level. Nothing player.

We are clearly the better side here. Again, just lacking that final ball or killer touch in the last third.

Memphis and Martial have done really well. In a few years time these two will be special players as long as they keep improving.

Just feel like the likes of Mata have been letting us down. Contributes nothing and seems to struggle just to keep possession and play a 3 yard pass. Just doesn't do enough for me considering he is in such an important attacking position. We are also sorely lacking a right winger. Absolutely nothing happens down our right flank. Oh how you yearn for those Ronaldo/Beckham days when everything came through that right side.

The makeshift back four have looked surprisingly decent so far. Still a few mistakes from Mcnair and Varela but that's to be expected. Carrick seems to be rounding into better form too. Playing some wonderful balls to Memphis. His bread and butter really. Probably going against LVG's instructions by doing so.

This game is there for the taking. We should be able to score another one if we are just a bit more positive and put in some better passes in the final third.

Its quite promising that we are playing with more pace especially when Lingaard was still on the pitch. Im actually surprised Perreira came on for Young. It actually would make more sense to put Memphis on the right and Perreira on the left. Not sure why LVG refuses to play Memphis on the right because it would allow him to actually run at the fullback with his favored right foot instead of always cutting in.

Its the same shit on same stick

Actually it's the complete opposite, but people just feel like writing this.

We're shocking defensively, not that surprising given 3 of the back 4 are not even second choice. But we've looked more interesting and had more intent going forwards, Memphis, Martial and Lingard (before he went off) having lots of freedom to go at defenders.

Van Gaal is brave.. 6 kids... and they look alright..
Experienced folks, Mata, Felliani look like the worst players on the field..

He doesn't take risks. He's a coward. Those kids are really 30 year old men that haven't aged.

Freak goal aside, we've been alright. Varela and CBJ really have been thrown in to the deep end in tough away games, but they've been fine bar one or two wobbles. Varela clearly lacks top level experience despite not being that young, but he looks to have something about him. CBJ looks incredibly calm given he has even less experience.

Dunno what's happened to McNair. I'm very keen to see him play more games in the middle, as he looks hopeless at RB, but he's looking equally hopeless tonight. Undoubtedly talented IMO, but he looks very nervous. Perhaps all the times LvG has thrown him under the bus has quashed his confidence.

Martial and Memphis have been solid. Mata though; what's Spanish for "man on"? Can someone yell it to him, like, all the time?

I had hoped McNair would look like quality the more games he got! He looks worse than last season. He isn't going to make it is he? Quality miles below Evans when he started.

Fellaini has been garbage, besides the goal, he is more a hindrance to our attacks than an actual benefit!

Mata, wow he is just so awful today! Actually, Mata hasn't looked decent ever since playing CAM. He has lost his commanding game, back to RW please!

Borthwick-Jackson, love his composure in general. From all the youngsters on the field, bar Lingard, he looks like one to play regularly in this team in future (as a backup to Shaw).

    Varela
is just a notch below that, but also looks great past few games, just makes silly amateur mistakes.

    Carrick, MIA!

woke up about 15mins in, to find us 1-0 down, see City's irritating blaggery, and not only see our shocking lineup, but watch Lingard become another injury!

So, I'm probably one of the few who is content to be on 1-1!

If we can sneak out of this with a win, we've a nice week to get Jones and Schneiderlin fit enough to start and sort out whatever is going on with Rooney.

I find it odd Young has gone from being a "must start" and also in a range of odd positions, to now he can't even get in with a sh!ttone of fullbacks out, and isn't even on the pitch when Lingard goes off!

I can't agree with the people having a go at Perreira for the tackle. Seen much much worse. It was worthy of a booking and he got one. No more than that - the end
