Pretty much what the majority have been calling for. I hope this is a great performance! Come on the boys!

What has happened to Andreas Pereira? He really should leave the club, such a talented player being wasted.

He had one bad game vs Brighton and was subsequently dropped to make room for McTominay on the bench. You know the rule.... certain players have many bad games and receive multiple chances, and other players have good games followed by only one bad game and it's punished with absence from the 18 match day ad-infinitum.

I'm not confident in that lineup at all and Bournemouth are a pretty good, organized side.

If we can have a good, convincing win today it'll be a good sign for us. My prediction is a scrappy win instead

What's the story with Rom, lads? Is he just getting a rest or is it something more sinister?

Unfortunately it probably means we are gonna play crap, it's always like that :(

Jones instead of Bailly, Mctominay instead of Pereira? I like first 11, a lot. But bench is strange. How just how Jones can get a place instead of Bailly? Or Mctominay instead of Pereira?

Alexis will definitely play through the middle today, who knows, maybe this might reinvigorate him....I wonder why Lukakus not even on the bench,I really don’t think that he’s been dropped from the squad.Hes probably picked up an injury....

Martial is rapid, as in actually very very quick especially over the first 10 m or so. Wasn't it last season him and Vardy were clocked as fastest in the PL?
I don't see that in games. He looks like a technical dribbler, who weaves inside & outside to create chances. He's no pace hound.
If Rashford is faster it doesn't mean Martial is "not that fast".
Yeah, not that fast. He's not Aubameyang or Bale. He's fine, he's about as fast as Pogba. I never said he was slow did I.

Very good team. Looking forward to see Sanchez upfront again. Shame that there's no place for Periera even on the bench however.
Yeah, I agree, love this team. Not saying, but lets hope for a gutsy performance. Wish: to See Sanchez and Anthony score.

IMO Sanchez will have to be employed differently than we do Lukaku in that central position. Now, I'm not looking for City fluidity, however, we hopefully have been training with a dynamic approach that utilises Sanchez centrally the way City utilise Aguero. Also, this means that there will be more pressing (hopefully) since Alexis is a busy bee compared to Romelu.

    Mourinho explains Lukaku absence
Speaking with BT Sport, the manager explained:

“In training yesterday, after the press conference, he felt something that needs to be studied in the next couple of days. So Lukaku has not come and we decided to start with Alexis.”

If this Lineup doesn't work, Im actually done. This is the lineup ive been crying about for ages (minus young but he will do). Ofcourse I will still need mourinho too instruct them to attack and not rest on their laurels.

Cmon boys I need a replay to watch everyday for the rest of the week like I did with everton.:)

He is. Players that run with close control don't look as fast as kick and runners. I'd rather have Martial running the ball than Rashford

Glad to see Lukaku dropped for a change, its for the best. Hoping Nemanja Static is next

Also hoping Alexis plays up top as the CF

It's not even that game. He was by far and away our best player throughout the pre season and this should've been rewarded with a proper run of games. Let Matic fight his way back into the team. Like Luke Shaw got. He nailed down his position and Ashley Young had to fight for another position which he's now got at RB. That's how it should be. Andreas wasn't given this opportunity.

Would have preferred to see Herrera, but oh well. Maybe he can come on second half?

Ten out of eleven, not too bad. Let's get an early goal here.

Am I the only one that interpreted this as Lukaku being left out because he needs to study?

He definitely needs to revise his first touch and finishing.

Loving the team, hope we deliver.

Mourinho is smiling and everyone likes the lineup. Therefore expect a shit performance and I suspect I’ll be calling for Mourinho’s sacking after the game.

Sanchez especially needs a good game or a solid outing at least. If we can get him and Martial scoring we will be looking very strong.
