Looked at the line up and was quietly surprised at how good we look on paper. I think Jose is working us up nicely.

Pundits talking about Rooney and the past suddenly become all knowledgeable and critical. They all endorsed LVG and Moyes when they were in their jobs but criticise afterwards - just shows they are 'neither use nor ornament'.

Rooney is shirt limited - once the sales of his shirt dip there will be a change. Pogback and Ibra must be cutting deep into his demand. If his game doesn't up he will be benched, although I suspect Jose wants him to do well.

We look solid and looking forward to this game.

Herrera starts because he has 33 training sessions. That is something LVG would say.

You just conveniently left out the part where he said that Bournemouth play with high intensity in midfield, and that Herrera fits high intensity midfields good, didn't you?

Happy with the team. Clearly Lingard has an injury which is why he isn't starting. Don't think Jose is convinced by Mkhi yet and starting Mata will hopefully get some of the bs media reports of an exit off of him (though probably not). Surprised Carrick doesn't start but maybe Jose feels comfortable enough with our back 4 against this Bournemouth side. He might want height instead. Apart from that terrible back pass against Leicester Fellaini has looked pretty decent in pre-season so I won't make a big deal of it. Not surprised with no Schneiderlin. He doesn't suit this set up. Happy we have the passing of Herrera to help exploit the Bournemouth defence. Hopefully Martial and Ibra deliver today. Still think it'll be a relatively comfortable win.

EDIT: A bit surprised to see Josh King starting for Bournemouth. Hopefully he doesn't continue his end of season form.

Quite interesting with the exception of Zlatan, we're going for something quite similar to what we often used last season. Might be Mourinho starting to season off with some familiarity while blending in new signings.
It is indeed a similar looking lineup to what we've been seeing in the past, week in week out. That lineup is gentle on pace and quite unbalanced in midfield and RW honestly.Pretty sure the manager knows better than anyone else.
But,it think Jose is trying to build his team and will ease in the right players that fits his style gradually as the season progresses.

Don't know whats up with the Mkhitaryan case. But,he'll be in the playing 11 pretty soon considering the options we have up front at his preferred positions.
Pretty much every manager we had for some reason still rates Rooney. All of them against the will of us caffers will hand him the opportunity to prove himself first than any other player. He is always right up their in every managers plan.Hope Jose won't hesitate to pick a more deserving player over him if he underperforms, unlike LVG.

    Finally!!!!

    Good luck lads :)

iPad friendly streams would be greatly appreciated

Or that the alternatives are Schneiderlin and Carrick, the former barely trained and isn't a lot better while Carrick is as slow as molasses.

So what? He's a great player, but should he play just because of that, while being out of form and still not adapted?

He's played 4 or so matches, started 2 and subbed in 2, there is no evidence he has either adapted or not nor that he is in or out of form. Nowhere enough sample size to conclude anything and the only way to conclude that is playing him.

Come on United! Let's have these.

Hope to see the team motivated to win the game. Lots of energy and quick passing. 3 points with a good performance is my predicition.

Can't shake the bad feeling. Christ, the last 3 years have really done a number on me.

Time for the philosophy to take the Premier League by storm.

The time has come finally. I'm a little worried though, because over the past few years, every time I set my alarm to wake up early, we have had terrible games. Hopefully, this one ends that streak!

These one man kick offs don't look right

He impressed against Wigan and then was subpar on all the other games. Quite the opposite of Lingard and even Mata.

So weird yet surreal to see Mourinho as our manager. Apparantely his record in opening league games are win 7 draw 1.
