I remember this weird myth that he was good on the ball as well, but I just don’t see it. I said he’s as good/bad as smalling was and got pelters for that too. I’m not even a big Smalling fan, I think the idea to upgrade on him was a good one. But we got absolutely rinsed paying 80m for Maguire. He isn’t even that good at just being a defender.
