So many weaknesses in this squad. For all the praise De Gea gets for his shot stopping his relunctance to come off his line does cause confusion in our defence. Add an immobile Maguire and we get situations like the first daft corner we gave away after 2 minutes.

The ball comes out to midfield and you have Pogba dawdling on the ball or Bruno attempting a Hollywood pass every single time. No wonder we can’t retain possession very well. We desperately need someone like Jorginho in midfield.

Unfortunately, I think this is spot on. The margins become finer at this level. Ordinary mistakes that you might get away with in the league get punished here. It just shows that we still have so much more work to do to knit these players into a quality team.
