Higher ceiling of potential than Rashford? I can't remember another talent making such a massive splash in his first season since Rooney.
I'd say so for sure. I said last season that I wouldn't be surprised to see Greenwood overtake Marcus within two years and it's not looking outlandish at all right now. The two-footedness is amazing, but his all-around play is so mature as well, which really gets me excited.

Not to take away from Rashford though. He's still a big player for us when he's on form.

    Happy now, misery guts?
To be fair to martial he’s made a couple runs but the man on the ball used them to wrong foot the defence.
Fernandes miss read a couple runs but Christ this is only the 5th game this team has played together!

We've been poor first half but this is a game we would have lost a few months ago.

I love how nothing is putting the boys off, they have a job to do and whatever is thrown at them, they'll get it done

Marcus is still off but he was our best player before he got injured so hopefully he'll come good. Scary to think how good our forward line will be if he does
Yeah he needs to play through this patch. He just needs a goal from open play and it will click for him again.

If there were HT ratings, bar Greenwood the team would be getting 2s and 3s from me! Terrible passing, control and movement of the ball. We know Villa are nothing special but when they are the better team criticism is justified. Hope Ole gives them a rocket and we see better play sec half.

Pogba has played some beautiful passes

    Kid is special.

Can tell how much because I was disappointed in his earlier miss. You just always expect him to score. He gets unreal power on his shots.

The earlier one was very smart defending on him. The AVL player just brushed him slightly from the back with his hand, disbalancing him and making him air his shot.

Is it weird that I want Mason Greenwood to impregnate my wife with his GLORIOUS sperm so I can raise his kid as my own?

It probably is but feck it.

    pogba been a bit quiet.

I agree, I think De Gea had it covered tbf.

Pogba has been surprisingly bad. Lost the ball ahead of the post shot as well. Let's hope he gets himself a Ole hairdryer and comes out with a point to prove

Greenwood will be making England debut soon at the expense of Rushford. I don't know what I am seeing from Rushford, poor and unmotivated.

Didn't even clock that was Masons right foot. feck me

He has definitely been favouring his left since getting into the first team, but to do that with your "weak" foot... Incredible

You're a braver man than I if you bring this up with your wife.

Not going to condemn the performance too much. We played a heck of a lot better at times earlier in the season and got screwed by poor decisions and bad luck, we are in a phase where everything is running our way but it is deserved.

We've been pretty poor tbh. I'm not sure sure if it's fatigue or complacency, but whatever it was it was harsh to Villa to see us go 1-0. I thought we were very lucky to get that penalty. At first I wasn't convinced it was in the box. On replays, I still couldn't say for sure. But I'll take it!

Improved slightly after, though still not great. What a strike by Greenwood. No stopping that, he smashed it. Great time to score too.

Some of it is down to Villa to be honest. They've been good but more importantly they are fighting like hell out there.

I don’t agree with Keane all the time and think he plays up the role of angry Irishman a bit but... it’s so much better listening to him at half time tell it how it is than Redknapp and co recycling garbage like “they’re struggling and they’ll need to be better in the second half”.
He was bang on this time, especially when you see the angle behind the goal you see how weird Mings' positioning and lack of closing down is. Great goal by Mason but Mings lost out to Martial and then just froze in front of Greenwood.

The biggest tactical change Ole ever made... give free roaming license to Greenwood instead of confined him on the right. Last couple of games are defining movement of Greenwood's career.

    Delighted to be wrong:lol:
Get what you mean though about last 7 years, just with this front 4 at the moment you can’t help but think goals are going to happen. Rotation is probably inevitable in the next few games, that’s when the pessimism will come back in.

We've been lethargic, and for me the concern is that it's complacency rather than being gassed. If Villa score, I can almost guarantee you'll see them up the tempo.

I get trying to conserve energy, but maybe put the game to bed first? We spent most of the half walking.

All that said however, I like how it lulls them into a sense of security and then we suddenly spring. That Fernandes missed header - what a goal that would've been!
TO be fair, Villa were pressing our midfield like feck for the first 10 minutes or so. Think we did well to take the sting out of them after the penalty.

Still unsure how Bruno missed that header!

He's going to be special isn't he? What a goal by Greewood. Him, Bruno, Rashford, Martial - all should be getting 20+ goals in future seasons.

It's good when you can be average but still have the quality to be 0-2 up. Realistically, should be even more as Villa have probably made only one clear chance, while Bruno, Martial, and Greenwood would usually have finished their other chances.

Yep - it's genuinely incredible how few players are actually two footed, makes such a difference being able to go each way
    with you all the way.

I'm outta shape now, but when i played people never knew which foot i was...and it just comes from regular training.

I don't get it why these guys that do this for a living full time aren't able to also. So massive credit to Mason...whatever effort he put into developing himself is going to make him a multi millionaire.

When he hits them with a right,, he is setting those shots with his left, such a contrast compared to heavy right/left footed players.

Mings is shite. I know he's a big lad, but he must think he's as wide as the goal with the way he doesn't close anyone down. He seems to think he's going to block everything, yet all he is blocking is the keepers sight. Did it 3 times in that 1st half, and finally got punished for it.
