  • I think we need to forget Amad in the RWB role. It’s quite clear now that Amorim sees him as one of the 10s. Personally though I’d like him at RWB to give us that threat on that side.
Vast majority of the time yes, but I don't see any other way to get the likes of Garnacho and Mount (when fit) into the team without dropping Amad. But I also don't want to not play Amad or Mazraoui ever (for now)

Until we sign specialist wing backs I think Amad will occasionally start there. Once we have a RWB then I think Amad will only move there within games, when we are chasing it.

With the team Arsenal are fielding today- surely they will rest quite a few players against us - since they have Spurs 3 days later

arsenal so poor tonight. this is something of a free hit in that i dont care if we go out of the cup, but i suspect theyll be a bit flat.

FA Cup is probably their best chance of silverware now

They seem a bit ordinary without Saka.

If we avoid the customary set piece brain farts, there's a good chance we could nick it at the Emirates. Though we'd still need to put in another similar performance to the one against Liverpool.

That’s the minimum. Every game against a top side is an opportunity to gain valuable experience. No half assing it anymore.

Saka out there ordinary, if there set pieces don't work there ordinary as well, Newcastle put to banks of 5 against them after 2 up , they had loads of the ball put cross after cross in to a nobody realy .
Pick same 11 as the dipper game start with that see how it goes.

We owe arsenal a beating. They have been lucky against us last few seasons ,getting decisions and wins. Its time to send them packing out of the FA cup.

A lot has been talked about the performance in the Liverpool match but I feel this is the first match we will start to see Amorim's footprint on the team, given this is the first week without a mid week schedule since he joined.

Wasnt that last week as well?

With a week's rest and training sessions, I expect another good performance.

When the Europa League resumes and there's a match every 3/4 days, I think performances will drop off again.

This squad isn't very athletic and it will take time to sort it out.

yes, Martinez is class sprinting with his blistering pace down the flank, overlapping Bruno and hitting crosses into the box

Winning this and losing against Southampton would feel terrible. So I just want to see a good performance. The result is of no consequence. We need to qualify for Europe.

Meanwhile, the scousers are at home to Accrington Stanley (who are they?) and city welcome Salford
Liverpool had Arsenal away in the 3rd round last season, whilst we had Wigan. The luck of the draw can be annoying at times, but it is what it is. I'd rather the fixtures were pulled out of a hat than seeded.

Start with the same 11 we had against Liverpool. I don't see the value in changing too much considering we are trying to build positively through consistency, and we've had a week between matches. Was possibly the strongest first 11 we could field on Sunday, so do the same thing again.

Arsenal had a bad result yesterday, but I reckon they'll be up for this, so we should be up for it too.

This is one of those where the result doesn't matter as much to me as the performance - I want to see some of the passion and intensity carried over from the draw with the scousers, instead of our usual trick which is just to let it fade away.

What kind of oddball team is this?!

Hope we put the same lineup out, got to be some sort of reward for putting in a decent performance
With a week in between and a similar type challenge (away against strong opposition), I feel certain Amorim will pick the same XI. I don't think any of the starters vs. Liverpool put in performances that warrant a replacement for Arsenal (also considering the options available).

Just hope we give them a good game. If we go out of the FA Cup, so be it.

Good performance more important than whether we win or lose. Southampton will be more important in terms of result.

Feel it could be same 11 as against Liverpool. Maybe Yoro in instead of de Ligt but could rather see Yoro starting vs Southampton.

Arsenal playing vs Spurs only 3 days after this so can see them resting some players and starting Calafiori/Zinchenko, Jorginho, Merino, Jesus, even Sterling.

I disagree with the comments saying the performance is more important than the result. It's a cup tie! Getting through to the next round is all that's important to me. Win ugly for all I care.

Now that CL qualification is highly unlikely, I'd say 'the performance being more important than the result' is more applicable to league games. For me, finishing 8th is practically the same as finishing 12th. Just give us a cup final to look forward to at the end of the season!

Yeah, we ain't gonna do owt in t' league let's win the F.A. Cup instead, knocking Liverpool & City out in future rounds will be an added bonus and gaining some much needed cheer, summit 3 points off Saints & 3 points off Ipswich won't do.

    Onana
De Ligt - Maguire - Martinez
    Amad - Mainoo - Ugarte - Dalot
    Garnacho - Bruno
    Hojlund
We can get at these, especially if the same ball as the Carabao cup is used.

I agree. I wouldn’t mind finishing 12th if we see improvements In performance. But I really want us to win the Europa. I want CL football back next season. Improve our squad and go from there
