Strong half of football from us there. Very pleased with that.

Big ask to do it again for the second half but we did look pretty solid. Amazing what amorim has managed to do so far with the players.
Excellent half. Shows you the progress that’s been made. No matter what happens from here out, that’s a solid foundation

    boring half tbf
but we are compact, best ever seen since Ole in his purple patch. That's huge
Need to get Rashford to score his annual goals at Emirates

If only Garnacho had some technical ability! We have got into final third a few times on their left but Garnacho never seems to have the ball under control. But if only Dalot could hit the target...he missed an open goal from even closer so can't be relied on.

Just that more composed slightly slower tempo, better disciplined shape and bit of extra confidence has done a lot for our game this half.

    Much better than I expected.

Arsenal will probably improve in the second half though. Can't see them being this lethargic for 90 minutes.

Solid defensively, offering zero in attack.

Keep it like this for 25-30 minutes more and throw on Amad was maybe the plan, but with Malacia on a yellow (and looking like he does not belong there) I imagine Amad is coming on at HT and Dalot moved to LWB.

Following along as I'm at work and surprised its 0-0 at halftime. Amorim ball

Yeah I think people complaining don't realise or remember just how fecking terrible we were away to top 4, hell even top 6 or top 10
Have people actually been complaining? Given where we are as a team, away against a title contender, we’ve been excellent. The ability of the team to follow the plan has really surprised me. I expect we will gamble in the second half at some point.

Can't believe I had people arguing with me that we didn't need to allocate to upgrading our attack next summer.

fecking mental. It's the clear weak link in this game, we have no one that even threatens Arsenal at all.
Its clear the instructions have been to play more defensive and frustrate Arsenal. Nothing wrong with our attack in this game.

We need our front 3 to hold up the ball a lot better. Maz has been shaky in possession compared to his usual self and Maguire is slow on the ball. Otherwise we’ve looked on

Best we’ve played away to a big team in a long long time. Long may it continue!

Amad and Zirkzee would offer us a lot more penetration. Or maybe Rash. Mount and Garnacho aren't offering enough

Very solid. Got a good shape about us and are keeping the ball well, which are two things we're not used to in these types of games. Nothing much happening in the final third for either team.

36/38 passes from Fernandes first half…

Mount with the fewest attempted of the whole team. Womp.

We had lost possession, that's why he brought back the play. Not sure what the yellow was for.
Might be misremembering but it seemed we hadn't lost the ball yet when the whistle went. Yellow was for card waving.

But they've stopped a number of promising attacks with tackles without being booked, which is very weird considering the ref seems like a stickler for the rules (unless it's Arteta card waving or Arsenal stopping promising attacks, spot the pattern).

Ok half. 0-0, we managed to make one shot on goal (off target), didn’t concede.

Onana is of course the best so far (4 crosses claimed, including on 3 corners)
Seeing Onana come and catch crosses is so nice to see but I expect more with his distribution, his long ball attempts are pretty poor.

Can we not do the Ref is persecuting us thing ffs. Every game, people determined to create a narrative that the ref is out to get Utd. Boring.

Ugarte waves an imaginary yellow, it is a prescribed yellow for that unless I am remembering incorrectly.

This is more like a chess match. Arsenal have been restricted to boot it to Saka and hope something happens from a corner, which is good organization on our part. But we've been extremely careful in attack. A couple of times our attackers just didn't risk the forward pass. Our main risk taker playing deeper and so cautiously isn't helping either.

I wonder if Amorim will actually risk going for the win at any point or will settle for the draw. The longer it stays 0-0, the more the timing of the subs will be key.

Reminds me of an Italian football match. Dull to watch with not many big chances but interesting tactically.

Done well to contain them and not let Odegaard run the show in midfield. Just hope for a bit more bravery on the ball. Especially in final 3rd, our first thought always seem to be going backwards rather than their goals. Hojlund needs to start and creating opportunities and space for himself and his teammates. They haven’t really created much to say they deserve to be winning. Their corner kicks look dangerous.

Anyways, intrigued to see how the 2nd half goes.

On course for a point, looking solid but Arsenal will be better in the 2nd half without a doubt. They could still have scored with Partey's missed header

We've had the ball with our attacking players approaching the Arsenal box 4 or 5 times and alomost none of those times have we shown an interest to go forward and try to get a shot on target. We've passed the ball back and eventually its gone all the way back to the keeper. Still because we've been tight at the back its 3 shots from Arsenal to 2 from us.

Very boring to watch, but wouldnt be surprised if we got a point from playing like this

I feel like we could win this if we upped it even just a little in the final third. We have had decent possession but there has been a timidity about us. Dalot's had our only shot and he's not the only one who could've tried or attempted to play someone else in.

We have applied ourselves well defensively but I struggle to believe that, at some stage, Arsenal won't create something. We might regret not showing more ambition, even trying a few pot shots. Wet grass, deflection, you never know.

52% of the ball against Arsenal away. I’m shocked. We are already a light year away from where Ten Hag left us. Just 4 matches. I’m a believer now.

A lot of people failing to appreciate this fact. Given the circumstances I expected Amorim would go for a counter attacking play. It makes a lot of sense. We hurt Arsenal on counters even when being in a bad shape. Ole, Mourinho, Ten Hag - every post-Fergie manager did that at Emirates. Amorim chose to keep the ball and actually doing that.

I will be more than happy with a draw.

We are going to have a problem during the second half: Malacia has a yellow card and Saka will try to use that, and at the same time Malacia can not play for 90 minutes yet, and we do not have a replacement on the bench...besides two young defenders, who have never played for us.

As you'd expect with that line up, nothing really from us in an attacking sense. Hopefully at some point, some combination of Amad/Zirkzee and Rashford can inject more into our attack

0-0 away to Arsenal whom got no shot on target in that half is decent against a united team with Malacia,Magurie starting along with Dalot who's prone to switching off in defensive situations.

Did what we set out to do. Frustrate Arsenal and not give the ball away. We clearly know what we need to do off the ball and even on the ball but just lacking quality in key moments.

The difficulty is we can bring on players to be more attacking but we probably lose something in shape.

    Much better than I expected.

Arsenal will probably improve in the second half though. Can't see them being this lethargic for 90 minutes.
I don’t think they’re being lethargic, I think it’s to do with United’s shape and how compact we are in the middle giving Odegard no space to operate.

Disciplined performance, keeping the ball, frustrating arsenal, we've kept our shape really well and 1 set piece aside completely neutered them

Given the situation of the respective teams I think it's been a fantastic performance. For the first time in years we look well coached with an actual plan. Had Dalot stuck that shot in it would've been perfect

Only down point is 2 yellows for absolutely nothing moments

Hopefully we gamble in the second half, we've a chance of nicking this I reckon

Very solid. Got a good shape about us and are keeping the ball well, which are two things we're not used to in these types of games. Nothing much happening in the final third for either team.

When we were two years in under Ten Hag and people were saying he needed another 6 players and no injuries before we saw progress, and then you’d look at other clubs who’d have a clear structure after a handful of games under a new manager.

    Well then…

Poor first half, we were ok defensively but our attack has been non-existant with players continously opting to i
pass backwards instead of looking to play someone in or put it in the box.
