I’m surprised we’re as high as 6th to be honest. Feels like we’ve lost every big game this season, and dropped points in most of the others as well.

Why are people blaming the officiating today? It's been shit, but we've been open at the back, useless in front of goal and have no-one to blame but ourselves.

Premier League big chances created: 15 (only Trent (18), Kane and Salah (17) ahead of him)

    Yeah, what a decline.

Maybe I should have phrased it differently, but looking at him now does anyone value him as they did 2 years ago? His weaknesses are now known.

I'm afraid Shaw and AWB are at the same level... we need two new full backs

I rated both highly and both showed a lot of improvement performance wise I feel last season....but hav ebeen a let down.

I do feel both are far better defensively even though there positioning is poor and dont feel they offer much less going forward as well.

I do agree new full backs are needed though, both from within such as Laird/Fernandes/Williams to replace the awful Telles/DAlot within the squad and from outside to immediately offer proper first eleven competition, Livaramento though yougn and not starting so often for Southampton would offer that, Gusto genuine world class potential though a bit raw and Neto the young German for the left back spot.

Think we have been unlucky today both decision wise and the way the ball has fell with chances.

Defensively desrving of criticism, offensively i think we have done pretty well, certainly within the context of the last couple of months. Fernandes yet again has been poor though, the penalty summed up his season

Is it? If you look at this season in isolation, I think that's a fair assessment. His hero-ball is not conducive to a coherent team.

Bruno fit perfectly into the way Ole had us playing, and looked a star in that system where he was allowed to do whatever he wanted whenever he wanted.

The second we try to be more organised (despite total lack of success I do think Ralf has tried to implement some kind of system) he’s been very poor. There’s a reason so many of us aren’t expecting him to last under Ten Hag.

Arsenal is cheering for their win, quite pathetic as they were quite poor and we let them off the hook. Few penalties call, 2 shots against the bar and post.

I always thought Lingard was more He-Pingping

ETH will have a migraine during his first day at work

Nah, half of them will be off before then. He'll have plenty of hungry young players ready to be coached and he'll have added some team players before pre-season. There will maybe be 3-4 players he struggles with and might be tricky to offload too, but hopefully without any dressing room influence.

Use his hands to cover his face like any normal person would when falling?

Fact is he tried to continue playing while falling and for that should have been penalized for touching the ball with his hand.

You might fall differently from the rest of the world in england but i've never seen a "normal person" using his hands to cover his face while falling

Imagining the scene is hillarious though.

We’ve not been that bad compared to other games. The ref has definitely cost us something out of the game.

Only Trent, Salah and Kane have created more big chances in the league. With no midfield and one 37 year old forward in the side.

If that's one of the worst players in the league, we might as well close the fecking club down now.
People are ridiculous. Bruno is the least of our problems.

Because the refereeing has been horrendous and we had a blatant pen in the first half not called as well, in addition to multiple fouls on elanga. Of course we shot ourselves in the foot with the reasons you've mentioned, but it's worth bringing up how bad Pawson has been.

That's what your man on BT said but it's bollox. He fell, then crawled along the ground and then purposefully flicked the ball backwards. He did not fall on the ball.

    Yup, this was clear penalty

It is 110% a penalty. If that happened outside the box, I would go as far as to say that could have been a red card for a blatant denying of an attack/goalscoring opportunity in that context.

Real lack of bottle in this side.

That said, today was better and if we didn't have a bunch of clowns playing in defence we may have got the win

I’m rooting for Tottenham. Arteta is the epitome of petty and look how it trickles down - look at Ramsdale jumping in front of Bruno after a missed penalty.
I know what I wish upon them but I’m not going to get a warning from the message boards so I shall keep it to myself

At one point /I could have sworn we were even lower. At this rate I guess we finish 8th?

He's never performed that well for Portugal. I was just reminded of his performance in the first game of the season where he scored a hattrick against Leeds. feck me that seems like ages ago. No idea what's happened to him.
When ronaldo took the first pen after his arrival there was talk of bruno losing out despite having a better record on pens than ronaldo. Then the next penalty bruno took the ball promptly and missed. That broke him, he's been gash ever since.

Our defending is lacking and we all know we are not a great team, however this game was completely decided by the officiating. Can’t change my mind on that.

Warching Elanga get barged and pulled from behind every time he beats a defender and not giving a thing. Being able to pretend Fall and push the ball backward in your own box. It’s a joke.
    Have to agree.

Proof as to how much of a hindrance Thursday games are is in the fact this Arsenal team has a shot at 4th. Hope we finish 8th.

Precisely. They are a lot more cohesive this season albeit inconsistent in terms of performance. But its a young team

Arsenal fans giving it large haha. This is as good as it gets for them. Top 4. We will be back with a real manager that's had a preseason.
