Someone should make a highlight reel of all the penalty handballs given over this season and the ones that haven't and make them explain why their decision making is so inconsistent. Absolute disgrace of a refereeing association. If I get down on my hands and knees I can handball because apparently that's the rule? Bunch of clowns.

Your man on BT said if the ball was trapped under the player as he was falling and using his hands/arms to break his fall that it isn't a foul. But looking at the replay he's kind of crawling along when he handles it. I don't think he can still be considered to be falling, can he?

He explains the rules quite accurately within the specific context of a falling player, and it looks like you’ve chosen to literally cherry pick which words you want to cite to justify your anger. Ridiculous. Shouldn’t have been a penalty at the other end though in my opinion, I’d be interested to know if the red would still have been asked to review it if it hadn’t also been part of the same phase of play as the offside review. I kind of suspect not but don’t really know.
