Had a nasty feeling this would happen after such a high in midweek.

Ole looked near to tears there.

We would have gone level on points with Tottenham as well.

It might be my fault I put Rashford and Pogba in my fantasy team when I usually refuse to use United players for fear of jinxing them.

Can't even blame OGS. We created enough chances to win by 3 clear goals.

Lukaku was atrocious in front of goal.

I have to say, Ole not been great today either. Got it wrong at the start, switched, swtiched back. Didn't have an answer... Want to see how he reacts to this. If we bounce back in very difficult game next week, I'm sold. If not, I still think the club should at least speak to Allegri (who has been my first choice since the day Jose went)

It’s one big game too many especially with the injury crisis. We could have done with Huddersfield at home or something.

Hopefully Ole runs the proper ruler over those players who performed horribly today as well as he & the coaching staff for not making changes earlier & trying to avoid the blaise mentality many of the squad had today.

Hit the bar then post, missed so many good chances and how in the f is that a pen. can't believe we lost to these small timers but it happens.

They were singing "who are you":lol::lol: FFS you're suppose to pretend that you're a big club.

Their home form is sound. Always going to be a tough place to go.

We've ridden our luck lately, arsenal rode theirs and got the rub of the green.

How do missing chances and a bad attitude even relate?

    Please do explain.
LOL! Watch the game for one. Rashford has played with a good attitude today? Matic? Pogba?

I think people must like feigning ignorance sometimes.

It's obvious the players have let the PSG result get to their heads.

They all need to give their heads a wobble.

    Jokers.

Didn't foul him? That's pretty obvious with anyone willing to watch the replay. This "give the referee an opportunity" nonsense has to stop. It wasn't a foul. Period.
Didn't play the ball and pushed whoever it was it the back. Doesn't matter what you think really. It's something that happens. Ref give them. It was a silly challenge.

I'll be honest and say I really didn't mind Xhaka scoring when he did. The earlier the better because it slowed them down a little. They didn't go so gung-ho after that.

Our problem is mainly with our disgraceful finishing today. We made our chances but overall we never released the ball quick enough, final third not good enough.

Lukaku back to missing sitters. Rashford has been gash for a few games. Pogba again trying to act too smart and failing yet again against a top 6 opponent.

Lindelof has been poor today but one bad game can be excused. Fred really should be sold.

Ole got his subs wrong. Dalot was doing well, at least better than Rashford.

Top 4 will be difficult now. This was a must not lose game for us and we were still sleeping for the first 30 mins of it. Poor performance from everyone including Ole.

We were the better team just didn’t score it’s that simple

Fred's been good. Much better than Matic who has just stood there watching the game pass him by.

But he gave away a penalty so no doubt will get slated by the knuckle-draggers.
Yup.. ironic that he will get slated for something that should not have been a penalty in the first place

A loss on the back of a goalkeeping error and a penalty that shouldn’t have been. We were better than them but couldn’t fecking finish. It’s poor again.

But we can finish ahead of these lot, surely. So annoying.

Educate me. What has he done apart from go in on Lacazette giving away a penalty?

First off, the decision to award a penalty was incorrect. Not his fault. Secondly, he has been directly involved in at least 3 good chances this afternoon and he is the only United player to consistently find space on the edge of a crowded Arsenal box. He dawdles on the ball at times and his decision making needs work, but his overall contribution was impressive. He's clearly improving.

Fred had one of his better performances in a United shirt this afternoon and on another day, he'd be on the winning team. It was just one of those days.

what pisses me off though, is the players we make look good: Shaqiri in that awful game at Anfield in December and today Ozil and Xhaka. dam it, I really don't want to be in that pissing Europa crap next season. It is such a slog

Rashford absolute rubbish, like if you tried to play rubbish , you'd still struggle to be as bad as he's been today ...Other than that, a weird game, on another day could of won 3 -0 with the same performance.

With 2 goals from Lukaku being from Rashford assists. He played ok, didn’t look like he’d get a goal but his passing was spot on.

Matic has been the problem in midfield today. Freds ball winning and transition has been excellent.
Don't want to argue but I disagree wholeheartedly!

FFS You've answered this twice! And said the same thing! Take a breath mate!

It wasn't Matic who gave away the ball cheaply or the (weak) penalty for the second goal was it? Matic wasn't the huge gap in midfield for Arsenal's first goal either? Ole should have been brutal like he was with Baiiley in the CL second leg. The game was close but the second goal sealed it!

It wasn’t a challenge, it wasn’t a foul, it wasn’t a penalty, it wasn’t Freds fault. But yeah, let’s blame him for a terrible refereeing decision. :wenger:

Agreed. VAR may help us in the future. But I can understand how that gets given as a penalty 65+% of the time. And therefore you simply don't get that close and give the ref the opportunity to buy it.

Fred did fine today though. His performance should certainly fly under the discussion radar. In fact he is looking like a great rotation option in there, him and Herrera.

The discussion should be about moments of this match in isolation. De Gea was poor (and is looking a little off recently). Lukaku, today is mostly on him. He stays in the team though for me. Rashford is looking a little out of ideas, a bit fatigued perhaps, slowness of mind for releasing the ball when he should. He should sit one out.

Overall that's a tough game, like it should be against a typically top four team. And if you re-run that exact sort of game again and again, we win 3-1. Universe had it in for us after we used up all its kindness for us against PSG. :D

I would have taken a draw before the game due to their home form but we messed up today, 2 dodgy goals conceded then missed all our chances.

It happens , just didn't want it to be vs these clowns.

How is it a must win game?

Take a look at the comparative run ins, Arsenal can field youth teams for the rest of their league games and still win them all (that is an exaggeration to highlight how easy they are) compared to who we still have to play.

If we had won this, we had a small buffer, as it is, it will require supreme incompetence from either Emre or Poch to allow us back in to the top four now.

Losing a game we easily could have won by 3 is always hard, but if you stop with the fecking knee jerk reactions you sooner realize that we played another solid game, and with the same amount of luck Arsenal had we would have smashed them.

Hopefully Herrera is back and stays fit for the reminder of the season, because he is sure as hell someone we are in DIRE need of if we want to finish top 4.

I am saddened by the loss, but feels just as positive about the performance as i did last time we met Arsenal. We will get top 4, they will not. No worries.
