Love that Matic is starting, but I hope Jose isn't playing him through injury. We need him for the City game as well, and if he is still carrying a knock, he might be below par.

Fingers crossed, he is his usual self.

EDIT: Oh yeah, the black kits are quite good an omen, we do get some good results with them.

11/11. For a change, my last minute lineup prediction changes turn out positive. Otherwise I have missed out on 11/11 couple of times this season because of last minute (wrong) predictions.

Here's your #MUFC team to take on Arsenal. Our starting XI is unchanged from Tuesday night's win at Watford. #ARSMUN

Was hoping Bailey and Jones would be back as Smalling and Lindelof make me fecking nervous. Still, I like this team apart from that. Lingard needs to be given a free role to maximize his clever movement and potency. We'll either win or lose, this aint gonna be a draw.

unchanged side... would have liked to see Fellaini today. need to bully this lot; if you let them settle they tend to do well. and smalling worries me - wish we'd sold him to Arsenal when they were supposedly interested a while ago (now they are in for Johnny evena again, rumur has it)

May well have played if fit. We have several big, physical players missing; but I'm happy with the selection.

zlatan not there concerns me. He would have been a perfect supersub. Now we don't have a plan B with no fellaini too.

So the Matic and Lacazette shouts came through for both teams. Got 10/11 with the obvious Matic/Herrera switch. As good as both teams could expect to be fair. Should be a good game.

This thread's gonna be a trainwreck though! Still going for a United 2-1 or 3-1. C'mon Lukaku. Get those boots sorted!

Don't see anything coming off the bench to change the game up for us.

Mata is usually a shout for big games but hasn't been in the best form this season.

I thought Lingard was poor against Watford aside the wonder goal. Lukaku isn't great against big sides, not that he's been great against anyone lately.

We'll struggle today, grateful for Matic being back.

Lindelof and Smalling seem like a good pairing, now that Lindelof seems to be over his early jitters (knock on wood).

Only if it all falls to shit

The weird thing is Lindelof would struggle more against a Giroud than a Lacazette imo

    Mourinho's ironic quotes on Matic
The irony of Mourinho’s Matic’s quotes is it sounds like he was hesitant about playing him, yet Mourinho loves players who are prepared to play through the pain barrier.

He dug out Phil Jones for being ‘cautious’ towards the end of last season but was beaming when he revealed earlier this season that Jones had declared himself available for the bench in midweek matches when he was not 100 per cent fit.

Haha. It'll be a scoreless draw, or we'll lose. I defer to Mourinho's away record vs top six teams in terms of my expectations.
I dare not dream for a swashbuckling attacking performance or even a professionally controlled hammering of them.

I thought Herrera would start with Matic maybe coming in for the last 30 minutes, other than that it's the team I was expecting, odd that Ibra isn't even on the bench though.

 the Arsenal reaction to lacazette starting. He's a good player but you'd swear wenger pulled prime Henry out of his back pocket

Can we risk an injured player in such a big game?
Mourinho will be in the firing line if Matic has a poor game.

It's one of those where a manager makes a call. He obviously feels the benefits outweigh the risks. If he's 80 per cent, you risk it; if he's 30 per cent, you don't.
