Was just looking at Arsenal-mania and everyone there is pessimistic for an Arsenal win.
Think both teams would be happy with a 0-0 at this point.
Sitting back and hitting them on the counter is fine - but apart from ADM, we have nobody with any pace in this team......

Wait were people worried about Walcott before hand? Did I miss when he became a top class player during his 10 month injury absence?

:nono: Well they were not worried because he is top quality or world-class, they were majorly worried because he has got some pace with our first choice fullbacks ruled out of the game.

They're both fit I'm pretty sure, both were pictured in today's training pictures.

Rooney, Di Maria, Januzaj are all faster than Mertesacker. The sames goes for Arteta, Flamini and Wilshere too. If we're afraid with their pace upfront, they should be worried by their lack of pace in defensive position. I mean that if we have a good defensive unit, then it’ll be possible for us to counter them.

BUT, we have to align ball player and not playing only to be balanced. We went in the City game to be well organized even after Smalling’s expulsion, but except a good organization we didn’t produce much.

In this game, our key players will have to perform. Rooney must be higher without been afraid to let our midfield doing their job. Di Maria will have to be a world class player and he has to show it, he’s our key in this game and will have to make difference, whether it’s Chamberlain or Gibbs, he must kill them. And RVP will have to be as good as ever. If he’s back to his best, then Arsenal will be afraid more than anyone.

Sort of dreading this match now to be honest with all our injuries and whatnot.

Ander Herrera did not appear on any of the training pics today. Looks like he won't feature in the lineup.

So Arsenal are worse off injury wise than us this season? It certainly seems like our two clubs are always struggling with them.

If he's not at training it probably means he has either picked up an injury or is ill. Even if he was not playing tomorrow, which I doubt he wouldn't be involved in some way, he would still be training. For hells sake Anderson is there and he is nowhere near the team.

Oh and this is not a game for Fellaini. No way. He is good against some teams with big physical players, that's why he did well against Chelsea and City. But Arsenal are not one of those teams. He'll get sent off if he plays on Saturday against all the diving midget cheats that Arsenal have got because their at home and the referee's are biased anyway when it comes to big guys on small guys. Even with all our injuries I really don't think he should play. This is not a game for him.

Who would you play instead, especially when it looks like Herrera would be out too? Our options are thin right now *sigh&

I'd rather Herrera not play for the 4th week in a row because of injury, instead of being dropped! (for no reason at all)

He's our best midfielder imo, he's better than fellani, blind, mata and carrick.

    ugh

If Herrera is now injured as well I will cry. If he is that is what you get for leaving someone warming the bench for ages and then put them through the same training as others who are match fit. He should have had a couple of runouts in the U-21's. Someone said something about a friendly against Blackpool earlier in the week? Maybe it is the aftermath of that. Are we completely sure he wasn't there? You can see more from video footage where the players are moving about than still, where someone could be slightly hidden by another player.

Lynk has most a video of training in another thread and Ander is there. Thank the lord.

Herrera has travelled down. He put a picture of himself, Mata, Dave and di Maria on instagram.

Do you think that LVG can be audacious in this game and play a real 4-3-3 for once?

I mean except Valencia who isn’t a RB, every player can play in a good position in 4-3-3 and a way the team can deliver, maybe without the two lines, but we can be better in terms of energy, and probably the way we use the ball. I can think that Arsenal’s midfielders would struggle to compete with this midfield + Wazza running around ( a la Ronaldo at Madrid) I think right now this team is the most balanced, with pace and creativity. If 2 or 3 (Smalling, Carrick, Roo and RVP) step up we can be very good against the Gooners

LVG has already ruled out Rafael for the Arse game, Shaw is also doubtful subjected to a late fitness test.
Van Gaal never mentioned Rafael, he said he likes his players to train for a week or 2 before playing and Rafael has been training for like 2 weeks now so should be fine. With Shaw it was dependent on if he trained today, which he did, so I think he's okay.

I think he did during the embargoed presser. The club tweeted this yesterday:

Thought I had a ticket for this one, seems I have been screwed though.. Might try tunnelling through

    What I WANT to see:

    ---------------- DDG -------------
    Valencia - Smalling - McNair - Shaw
    -------------- Carrick ------------
    --------- Herrera - Di Maria -------
    --------------- Mata -------------
    --------- Januzaj - Rooney -------

    ---------------- DDG -------------
    Valencia - Smalling - McNair - Shaw
    -------------- Carrick -------------
Januzaj - Fellaini - Rooney - Di Maria
    --------------- RVP ---------------

Could anyone put up a picture of how the away ticket looks for the game tomorrow?
    Would apreciate it! :)

Haha, do not need to include that, just want to see the design of the ticket so that I am not beingscammed when trying to buy one online or outside the stadium tonight/tomorrow.

We should be aiming to win.

We should be aiming to win.

We had SAF. Plus Vidic, Rio and Evra though. A draw be good.
Think Fellaini should play, we are far too lightweight otherwise, the WBA being a good example. Id play him, Herrera and Carrick and leave out Adnan. Then if we need a goal we can bring him and Mata on.

If we win this and Swansea and West Ham fail in there relatively difficult matches it could see us in 4th place.
For me a win here would be perfect and the players would get so much confidence. I'm not afraid of this match and i think we have a good chance of winning, the only thing is Valencia on RB doesn't really look good against OX/Sanchez, hope Cazorla plays against him.

And not just based on the record, either. With more and more positive news about player availability (seems to me than Blind and Falcao could well be the only potentially first-choice players not available), we have a side strong enough to get a win.

Why do so many people misspell (and subsequently mispronounce) his name all the time? It's not an especially weird one. Is there some kind of running joke that I've missed?

Are you happy now? Wrote in a bit of a rush, couldn't care that much either. I think it's because many pronounce it like there is an R.
