    De Gea
    Rafael--Smalling--McNair--Shaw
    Fellaini
    Januzaj--Herrera--Rooney--Di Maria
    van Persie

I really hope Carrick is fit for this one.

With the current injuries I'm thinking something like this:

    Lindegaard
    Valencia McNair Fosu-Mensah Shaw
    Pereira Fellaini
    Januzaj Rooney Di Maria
    Wilson

LvG debuted Seedorf at 16. He played him in the Champions League at 16 too. So why not Timothy Fosu Mensah. Just read he has international clearance. So what's the problem?

This is all getting a bit out of control.

You mean the boy who made his debut for the u-18's this weekend and looked like he is rather rusty? To be guided by Paddy McNair who looks like he should still be at school? I know we have injuries but some of the selection are very strange.

    My post was not serious.

Thank god. I am worried that some people's are serious. If LvG selects a lineup completely out of left field and it fails dramatically, then what. He could blame the injuries, but if he had players there that he could have chosen, he will have serious questions to answer.

I really do hope that we step up, but my prediction is a 1-1 draw. I'm not very optimistic of us coming out of The Emirates with a win, or any game for that matter right now.

    Nah Fosu-Mensah is right-footed...

It's an awkward game, do we just go out and try to stop Arsenal, losing narrowly or do we give Arsenal something to think about and actually have some attacking intent. I think he will go the former as we didn't exactly give Palace any problems. Then how will people react. It might be a narrow defeat, but it would be another defeat and still no away win. Awkward.

Rafael and Falcao have been training for last week so i reckon they will be involved. Herrera i am sure will return with Blind out, just hope Carrick is fit to play. He tweeted this 5 days ago:
    Michael Carrick @carras16 · Nov 12
2 steps forward 1 step back Gutted to miss the next 2 @england games, hopefully no more than that though. Missed too much already!!

Thats a terrible attitude! We go out to win! We were a worse team last year and we still managed 4 points against Arsenal. They're in just as bad form as us and are there for the taking.

Valencia used to play central midfield for Ecuador and he can fill the void of Blind.
    .....................Lindegaard.............................
    Rafael.........Mcnair..........Felliani.........Shaw

I didn't say I would not want to win, I would, not sure LvG would at the moment. A draw would be a good result for him. I think he is worried that much about the defence, rightly so, that he might just go that defensive in midfield to protect them. He has to leave us with some creativity to get goals. I worry he is so obsessed with L/R in all positions he would rather play someone who is not suitable just because he is L/R footed then if he is actually a good player. The way Arsenal play is open to counter attacking, but not sure we are that type of side anymore. I like the fact he wants to keep possession, but we need to start that straight away or Arsenal could do the same to us. I have a problem with Januzaj having shots when there might be a player in a better position, then he is giving possession straight back to the other team.

Will we even have a full starting 11 for this? Why is it always our defensive players who get injured? Would much rather have them spread around to our attacking players then this.

    Lindegaard
    Valencia Smalling McNair Shaw
    Herrera Rooney Fellaini
    Mata Van Persie Di Maria

Maybe Fletcher as a defensive mid? Genuinely don't know if Blind and Carrick are both out. Hopefully Rafael is back at least so we can have a right back.
Wow! Almost exactly the team I just punted on the Line-up Predictor thingy after sussing the sick-bay - I favoured Blackett over Smalls. I hadn't really figured the formation. You show it as a 4-3-3 and it actually looks quite solid, and potent. But then you usually talk sense anyway! ;)

    Arsenal's record under Mike Dean since 2009: P16 W1 L9 D6

One of them defeats included a 2-1 win for United at the Emirates with Danny Welbeck scoring a 81st minute winner to beat Arsenal.

Terrible record but we have been breaking records for the last year and a bit now.

With each day bringing new injuries to our club, my hopes for getting points out of this game dwindle, not sure we have anyone to keep Sanchez in check and Welbeck will be out to prove a point. Might have to be 5-4 for us to win it, assuming we can start scoring more than a goal or two a game.

God, this season is starting to depress me more than last season.

What I am finding depressing is not that LvG said there would be ups and downs along the way. We all knew that might happen. The style of football was looking better, but all along injuries have scuppered any chance of a good run of games with a settled side. Without all these injuries I think we would be well and truly up and running. It's like every week there is someone else in the side learning his philosophy in a match situation.

so the lineup for Saturday then?

Van Persie, Rooney, Di Maria, Fellaini + whatever 7 others are fit

The football is much much better than under Dyno-Moyes and there are definite signs of improvement. The injuries have simply been awful though and has put a real damper on the season so far - let alone preventing the team to gel and progress even further.

I certainly wouldn't say this season is more depressing. More frustrating? Perhaps. But that frustration, for me at least, stems from the ridiculous amount of injuries getting in the way of this team playing to its potential.

Would love to see Falcao insted RVP, but i'll go with this side.

    So
    Valencia McNair Smailing Shaw
    Carrick(?)
    Fellani Herrera
ADM(if he survives the game against Portugal?)
    Rooney RDP

Probably will lose, the way these injuries are going.

Hope Arsenal have the decency to show good hospitality for us regardless. You know, a few fresh stretchers on-hand, ready for the inevitable.

A lot of people have put Falcao in their line-ups.
This guy is injured...is he not?
He didnt play in our last game.
He didnt play in Columbia's last game.
Where are people getting the idea that this guy will be able to start against Arsenal?

He confirmed he was back training a few days ago IIRC.
