Everton FC nicknamed The Toffees and The Blues, are a professional football club based in Liverpool, England; and were founded in 1878 as St Domingo's, a sports club for people from the parish of St Domingo's Methodist Church. Everton was a founding member of The Football League in 1888–89, and became the second club ever to be crowned champions of England, after Preston North End. Historically, Everton are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won 9 League titles, a European Cup Winners' Cup, 5 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups; while hosting the talents of Dixie Dean, Gary Linekar, Alan Ball, Neville Southall, Kevin Ratcliffe, and current Manchester United star Wayne Rooney. Everton play their homes games at Goodison Park, and share a bitter, historic rivalry with cross-town neighbors Liverpool, termed the Merseyside Derby.

We won't win this and I'm not knee jerking based on today's result either

    2-0 Everton

    Martial

    Rooney--------------------------Mata

    Bastian----------Herrera

    Schneiderlin

    Blind------Smalling------McNair------Jones

    De Gea

Everton always show up for this and now they'll really be in the mood. Hope we can regroup for this one, sort out who's playing in defence and put either Young or Martial in place of Depay.

    Martial

    Rooney--------------------------Mata

    Bastian----------Herrera

    Schneiderlin

    Blind------Smalling------McNair------Jones

    De Gea

Swap Jones and McNair, swap Rooney for Young or Pereira and we'd be sorted.

Absolutely hate this fixture, I really do. Even if we were treble winners we'd still find a way to lose against this lot.

I'd take a shit 1-0 win with an own goal in the last minute any day.

    De Gea

    Darmian---Smalling--Jones---Blind

    Schneiderlin--Herrera

    Mata-----Rooney----Young

    Martial

Hate playing away to Everton... But we need a response after today. Was hoping for a draw against Arsenal, it just felt like we'd be reeled in and it happened just like that so I wasn't surprised. Expecting a big response to that though, and we need a big performance. Hopefully nobody gets injured over the break. Van Gaal also needs to not pick Carrick and Schweinsteiger together. Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin/herrera. Also give Memphis some time as a sub. The criticism has been a bit over the top, but he was poor today, will play twice for netherlands, and Young will have a 2 week break. Win is a must if we want to challenge.

    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Blind Darmian
    Schweinsteiger Schneiderlin
    Mata Rooney Young
    Martial

If Everton play us like they did last season at Goodison then they'll win easily.

Playing Everton in their cup final coming off the back of a terrible result today isn't going to be easy.

Hate that this game comes after the game against arsenal as we could've used an easy game and Everton away is never an easy game for us. But we can't afford to lose points right now, we have to keep up with Arsenal and City so I'm hoping for some miracle as it seems that's the only way we can win against Everton. Alternatively City and Arsenal could both lose but then it'd just be frustrating we didn't take advantage. So I'm going for a 2-1 win for United.

Onwards and upwards to the next one, let's try this crazy thing and play defenders in defense.

    -----------------DDG
    ---Jones------Smalling-----Rojo------Blind
    ----------Schneiderlin------Bastian
    ---Mata-----------Herrera/Fellaini-----------Young
    -----------------Martial

Absolutely hate playing Everton. Them and Swansea. It'll be a struggle.

seems to be our bogey fixture, have a bad feeling about this game as well.

Didn't realize this fixture was next. We are invariably going to be fecked.

They will be up for this while we will be in a hangover from this loss. LVG absolutely needs to get ruthless now.

I would suggest Blind at LB, Herrera behind Martial and a midfield of Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin.

So would I, but he will have Rooney in there behind Martial, even though he does zilch against Everton at Goodison. I would drop Memphis as well.

This game will show if we learned anything from last time playing them and the Swansea/Arsenal games. Quick and athletic team that will press us high and throw the kitchen sink on the counter.

I'd start with Jones and Smalling in the centre. Blind Vs an in form Lukaku might not be much fun.

I'd also try and get a bit more pace and energy into the team - even if that means starting Valencia to help us hit them on the break.

Fixture I hate the most. Everton at Goodison.

Hopefully we'll come back from the international break raring to go.

Only reason I left Rooney in is because maybe he'll have a spring in his step against his former team.

Memphis needs to be dropped, he's not doing much of anything useful these days

Glad to see at least a few people around here other than me recognize that Blind at CB is a liability

when was the last time rooney played well at goodison park?

They always come out flying against us at Goodison, it could be a start like against Arsenal.
We need to match their passion to get the three points from here, but i'm doubting it to be honest.

    My team would be:

    DdG
    Damo Smalling Jones Blind
    Morgan
    JMata Herrera Schweini Young
    Martial

    Dave

    Darmian
    Mike
    Blind
Rojo (Young if Rojo still injured)

    Carrick

    Schmidfield

    Mata
    Martial
    Wilson

I'm assuming Herrera is not fit.
