    Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly referred to simply as Tottenham or Spurs (and nicknamed The Lilywhites), are a professional football club based in Tottenham, London. The Hotspur Football Club was formed in 1882 by a group of school boys, mostly aged 13 to 14, from Tottenham Grammar School and Saint John's Middle Class School who were members of the Hotspur Cricket Club formed two years earlier. Initially, the boys that formed Hotspur Football Club played games between themselves and friendly matches against other local clubs. The team entered their first cup competition in the London Association Cup, and won their first competitive match on 17 October 1885. The club turned professional on 20 December 1895, and in the summer of 1896 they were admitted to the Division One of the Southern League. On 2 March 1898, the club also became a limited company, the Tottenham Hotspur Football and Athletic Company.

    Tottenham were the first club in the 20th century to achieve the League and FA Cup Double, winning both competitions in the 1960-61 season. After successfully defending the FA Cup in 1962, in 1963 they became the first British club to win a UEFA club competition – the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 1967, Spurs won the FA Cup for a third time in the 1960s. In the 1970s Tottenham won the League Cup on two occasions and were the inaugural winner of the UEFA Cup in 1972, becoming the first British club to win two different major European trophies. In the 1980s Spurs won several trophies: the FA Cup twice, FA Community Shield and the UEFA Cup in 1984. In the 1990s the club won the FA Cup and the League Cup. When they won the League Cup once more in 2008, it meant that they had won a major trophy in each of the last six decades – an achievement only matched by Manchester United.

    Tottenham supporters have rivalries with several clubs, mainly within the London area. The fiercest of these is with north London rivals Arsenal (with matches between them termed the North London derby). They also share notable rivalries with fellow London clubs Chelsea and West Ham United. Tottenham play their home games at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

    Based on Tonight's performance this is not the worst game to play. It will be end to end stuff and if our defense can keep it tight we can hurt them on the counter. Mbuemo tore Emerson a new one on Sunday so I don't see why Rashford can't do the same.
     
    Watch how Ange has Spurs playing against us next week and he's only been there for like a month.
     
    At least we’ll play against a high line which should suit our counter-attacking team better. Should have no issues finding those spaces behind their defense.

    But we need to improve a lot.

    We can't keep the ball and are absolutely useless away to big teams. I'd take a draw, Spurs are no great shakes though.
     
    Tempted to bring McT in for Mount. Need a bit more solidity and Scott isn’t a bad player when he’s playing box-to-box.
     
    Going to get battered this game. Spurs looked way better in their opening fixture.

    Rashford to the left. Drop garnacho and get Sancho as a false 9. Might get a draw.

    Martinez injured? Hopefully drop Antony and have Garnacho from the bench.

    I'd stick with the same line-up. Need to be more compact higher up the field. Still feels like 1-2 players are late during the pressing schemes.

    Mount in place of Antony and that looks fairly strong.

    I think so too. I also think Sancho in the middle and Rash on the left adds a bit more composure to the team.

    Tricky selection to predict as I think ETH would, ideally, want to stick with the same midfield to publicly back them rather than it look like any, presumably Mount, have been dropped?

    On the other hand, the fixture being a tough away game means it would be a perfectly valid call to go in with a more pragmatic midfield selection, regardless of how they'd performed in a home game v Wolves.

    A possible solution would be to omit a youngster like Garnacho and move Fernandes or Mount wide while bringing in the likes of McTominay? So therefore not having to 'drop' any of the first choice midfielders while also giving Casemiro more help.

    Not sure if Martinez will be fit or not, so I'll go for maybe...

    Sancho has to start this one. Garnacho was woeful last game and he was 1v1 many times against Semedo. Wouldnt mind seeing Sancho through the middle either linking up with Mount and Bruno. Wouldn't be surprised to see Bruno move to the right and another midfielder Eriksen or Scott play alongside Casemiro.
     
    Always the same thing with Spurs regardless of manager. Their biggest threats being Son and Kane.
     
    Totally different game which may actually suit us more. Thankfully we have a week to work in stuff in training and hopefully improve.

    Will be interesting to see if we can put our away form woes from last year behind us, but seeing how we shat the bed towards the end yesterday, I’m afraid it will be the same.
     
    United look more disjointed than last season. Spurs are certainly much worse without Kane. I'd take another 1-1 and then try and go on a run of victories. In any case, we are usually among the worst starters in the PL.

    We need another one to two weeks for the team to gel together, particularly with the poor preseason we had. The game against Forest after this should be easy. The big test for EtH will be against Arsenal in the week after the Forest game. If we are just as bad during the Arsenal game like we were against Wolves, which will then equate to a hammering, people will start questioning the manager. But I hope things will have turned around by then.
