Swansea City Association Football Club - also known as The Swans, or The Jacks (the reason behind the latter is unclear, but there are two possible origins: one is the reputation of local seamen "Jack Tars" in the early 19th Century, while the other is the black retriever dog called Swansea Jack who rescued no fewer than 27 people from drowning in the River Tawe and Swansea Docks during the 1930s) are a Welsh professional football club based in Swansea, Wales. Swansea were founded in 1912 as Swansea Town. In 2011 Swansea City became the first Welsh football club to gain promotion to the Premier League, and have since built a firm reputation as one of the most attack minded clubs in the league professing an attractive brand of football, starting with former Everton manager and current Belgian national team head coach, Roberto Martínez in League One, and subsequently the likes of Brendan Rodgers and Brian Laudrup. Swansea City's main rivals are Cardiff City, with the rivalry described as among the most hostile in British football - with matches between the two clubs known as the South Wales derbies. And they play their home games at the Liberty Stadium.

Win this and we go third for at least an hour or two.

If Rashford and Pogba are injured then I'd go for this:

    De Gea

    Valencia Bailly Blind Darmian
    Carrick Herrera
    Mkhitaryan Rooney Lingard
    Martial
Even if Rashford and Pogba are okay I'd probably say wrap them in cotton wool for Thursday.

Hope Pogba will be ready. We're short on midfielders big time. Thank you Fellaini.

Certainly makes good sense to bring most of the bench in.

Lingard, Shaw, Young and Rooney every chance to come in. Hopefully Pogba is back fit and ready too. I know we were playing City away which is a very tough game, but needed more link mid to attack

If the game starts well, might be one for improving our goal average.

    Team should be...

    -------------De Gea-------------
    Young---Bailly---Blind---Shaw
    --------Herrera---TFM--------
    Lingard----Rooney----Martial
    ------------Rashford------------

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Tuanzebe, Valencia, Carrick, Mkhitaryan, Willock

Keep Carrick & Mkhitaryan fresh for Celta Vigo and hope Pogba is back for that as well

If TFM is injured, then we could see Valencia in a midfield 3.

    -----------De Gea-----------
    Darmian-Bailly-Blind-Shaw
    -----------Carrick-----------
    ------Herrera---Pogba------
    Lingard---Rashford--Rooney

Win this and we'll be 3rd!!!! Until City trounce Middlesbrough an hour later. Then back to 5th when Liverpool smash Watford on Monday. Sigh.

    Team should be...

    -------------De Gea-------------
    Young---Bailly---Blind---Shaw
    --------Herrera---TFM--------
    Lingard----Rooney----Martial
    ------------Rashford------------

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Tuanzebe, Valencia, Carrick, Mkhitaryan, Willock

Keep Carrick & Mkhitaryan fresh for Celta Vigo and hope Pogba is back for that as well

    TFM is apparently injured.

Assuming no Pogba still and now no TFM. I wouldn't be against playing Blind in midfield and playing Tuanzebe at the back.

    Dave
    Darmian - Bailly - Blind - Shaw
    Young - Carrick - Herrera - Lingard
    Rooney - Martial

Not the usual BS on Old Trafford please. Any missing point and throw the league campaign completely for EL.

Win this and Arsenal and we'll have a shoot at Top 4.

    De Gea
    Young Bailly Blind Shaw
    Herrera Rooney
    Lingard Mkhi Martial
    Rashford

He's not going to play the kids. Will be Rooney+Young...players like that.

    1-0 United.

I would like to see this:
    DDG
    Young-Bailly-Tuanzebe-Shaw
    Herrera-Blind
    Mkhi-Lingard-Martial
    Rooney

    Rashford should rest.

    De Gea
    Young--Bailly--Blind--Shaw
    Carrick--Herrera
    Mkhitaryan--Rooney--Lingard
    Martial

subs: Romero, Tuanzebe, Darmian, Valencia, Willock, Harrop?, Rashford

I want to start Tuanzebe but Llorente will annihilate him.

Just a few weeks ago we had only 1 injury before the game. What happened? Was wishing to see TFM play but he injured himself.

Rest Carrick for Vigo and play Herrera as holding mid.

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailey - Blind - Shaw
    Herrera
    Mikhitarian - Rooney
    Lingard - martial - Young

I don't see Jose resting either CB and playing Tuanzebe even though I'd risk him personally and rest Bailly. I'd rest Rashford as he looked a bit off after that stretch tweak in the first half. Give Martial another run up top, stick Rooney on the left and just hope Carrick can manage 2 in a row.

Why is everyone ruling Pogba out ? I'm sure he'll play.

Hope we go with this :

    De Gea
    Valencia - Bailly - Blind - Shaw
    Herrera - Pogba
    Mikhi - Lingard - Martial
    Rashford

2-0 win please. Won't withstand another home draw this season.

Win this and we go above the scousers for a short time, at least.
That will go down well over at RAWK

Shite team coming to OT when we desperately need a win?

    1-1

    Romero
    Young Tuanzabe Blind Darmian
    Carrick Herrera
    lingard Rooney Mkhitaryan
    Martial

    vs Swansea

    DDG
    Valencia Bailly Blind Darmian
    Herrera Fellaini Pogba*
    Mkhitaryan Rashford Martial

    vs Celta

*Lingard in midfield if no pogba

got to rotate and save our players for EL

Rashford and Pogba(if not 100%) should sit out this game.
Martial and Mkhitaryan should split minutes

Given how much some of those players have played recently I wouldn't be surprised to see an injury or two unless we give them a rest here.

Some players need rest. 8 games in the next 27 days is a lot for this squad shrinking due to injuries on a daily basis.

Valencia, Bailly, Herrera & Rashford need rest. Carrick cannot play two in a week. fecking Fellaini. The decision to let go off both Schweinsteiger and Schneiderlin without a replacement doesn't look very wise now. Worried.

Will take chances in this one:

    De Gea
    Young Tuanzebe Blind Shaw
    Carrick
    Lingard Herrera Rooney Mkhi
    Martial
Hopefully a couple of early goals to give Carrick and Herrera some rest before the important Celta game.

If Pogba and Fosu-Mensah are kept out of this, an extra youngster (besides Willock) might have to be called up. Who, Mitchell?

Relatively fresh for this game, so, having to play, we'll have Young, Shaw, Rooney and Lingard.

I've got a strange feeling Pogba will be back to lessen the burden of the loss* of Fellaini in midfield.
