Aston Villa Football Club nicknamed Villa, The Villa, The Villans, and The Lions - are a professional football club based in Witton, Birmingham; and were founded in 1874 by members of the Villa Cross Wesleyan Chapel in Handsworth. Aston Villa were one of the dozen teams that competed in the inaugural Football League in 1888 with one of the club's directors, William McGregor being the league's founder; and quickly emerged as the most successful English club of the Victorian era, winning no fewer than five League titles and three FA Cups by the start of the 20th century. After decades of mediocre success, Villa returned to prominence in 1981 - winning their first league title in 70 years - followed by the European Cup in 1982 - becoming the fourth English club to do so. Aston Villa's most prominent rivalries involve local club Birmingham City in a match known as the 'Second Derby', and West Bromwich Albion. Aston Villa have been playing their home games at Villa Park since 1897.

It's all green! Let's get it grey and we might get a result. 8-0 Villa.

    Team should be....

    ---------------De Gea---------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Blind--TFM
    -------Herrera-------Morgan-------
    Lingard-------Rooney-------Martial
    --------------Rashford--------------

Subs: Romero, Darmian, Carrick, Fellaini, Mata, Young, Memphis

Rashford probably needs a rest but let him tear Villa a new one first

    4-3-3 again please
    De Gea
    Valencia Smalling Blind TFM
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Lingard Rashford Martial
The easiest game of the season this... Villa have long given up so anything less then a comfortable victory will be a disappointment. City play Chelsea away so there's a good chance of the gap being back to 1 point. Keep Rooney as a sub after that beauty from Rashford, but sub him to put him behind Rashford as the 10 maybe.

We will probably struggle in this seen as though we have no consistency

    2-0

The game to take Villa down, bit of a shame really. I know their fans can be absolute twats, but as a club they are in the group with Forest of past top English clubs.

Wonder what the owner thinks. It wasn't that long ago that O'Neil had them in the top 6, but shite investment has led to this in a short space of time.

Don't see even Louis fecking this one up, I expect a comfortable win. I reckon we'll line-up with 2 or 3 changes from tonight.

    Assuming Rooney starts...

    Dave
    Valencia Smalling Blind Mensah
    Lingard Carrick Herrera Martial
    Rooney Rashford

They will be relegated mathematically if Norwich avoid defeat against Sunderland at 12:45. I agree though, grand history, champions of Europe at one point.

Rooney will probably start, but he'll play 70 minutes maximum considering it will be a 'process'. I think LvG will want to keep Rashford, Martial and Lingard as a front three, with Schneiderlin coming in from the start this time. One of Fellaini, Herrera or Carrick left out, with Valencia replacing Rojo.

    -------------------- DDG
    ----TFM-------Smalling-------Blind------CBJ
    -------------Morgan-------Fellaini
    --------------------Herrera
    ----Valencia-------Rashford---------Memphis/Martial--

Their relegation will probably be confirmed by the time the game starts (if Norwich don't lose to Sunderland at home). We should be smashing these cnuts either way.

If we go 433 again as I think we will, I can't see Rooney starting.

    7-0 United

    De Gea
    TFM--Smalling--Rojo--CBJ
    Schneiderlin--Herrera
    Lingard--Rooney/Mata--Memphis
    Rashford

    or if 4-3-3

    De Gea
    TFM--Smalling--Rojo--CBJ
    Schneiderlin
    Fellaini--Herrera
    Lingard--Rashford--Memphis

Rest Blind, Martial & maybe Carrick.

I'd like to see Martial given a rest.

    -----------DDG
    Valencia--Smalling--Blind--TFM
    ----------Carrick--Herrera
    Lingard----Rooney-----Depay
    -----------Rashford

I look at our options and it still feels as if we have 2 or 3 attacking players missing through injury from our starting XI but that really is all we've got.

This is exactly the type of game we should be running riot in, but I can somehow see us struggling to seal the win. Our level of shitness in games seems to be proportional to the shitness of the opposition, so this could easily be our worst performance of the season. If we somehow manage to lose this it has to be curtains for Van Gaal. It'll be years until we get a gift-wrapped three pointer like this again. Aston Villa are unbelievably poor.

All doom and gloom aside, I think this should be a fairly routine win. The sooner we score our first, the uglier it will get. Their players have completely given up on everything and will completely crumble as soon as they go behind.

    4-0 win.

    -------------De Gea--------------
    Valencia--Smalling--Blind--TFM
    -----------Schneiderlin----------
    -----Lingard/Fellaini--Herrera---
    Memphis---Rashford----Martial

I'd like to see how Memphis does out right since I really think Martial might be the LW going forward. It's really, really hard to find a player who can score 15+ goals from out wide and Martial is one of those. And surely (basically) relegated Villa at home is an okay time to try that sort of thing.

And we have, over the Van Gaal era, seemed to look best with Herrera and Fellaini going box to box. Fellaini played well, but with the possession we'll have Lingard might be a better option. Obvious position to address in the summer, but for now I'd bite the bullet and pick one.

Rooney gets 20-30 off the bench and we'll see how he looks.

    De Gea
    Tofu Smalling Blind BJ
    Carrick
    Herrera Fellaini
    Lingard Martial Rashford
    2-0 United.

If we cant win this by 3 goals, LvG can go and bury himself in a hole.
But I think we ll win it 1-0 with a 76th min deflected goal.

It is pretty hard to lose to these lot, but if we do I can't imagine the reactions.

I'd like to see a little rotation in this

    -----------------------------De Gea---------------------------
    F-M---Smalling--Blind---Borthwick-Jackson
    ------------------------Schneiderlein---------------------
    --------------------Mata---------Rooney--------------
    Lingard--------------Rashford-----------Memphis

Fellaini coul keep his place as I felt he played well but Villa at home is a very different game to West Ham away

We actually don't deserve top 4 if we can't beat these at home. Especially when city play Chelsea on the same weekend. 3-0 Rooney, Rashford, Fellaini

Imperative we close the gap here. Can see Chelsea getting something off City.

Give Martial a little rest and stick Memphis in. Keep Fellaini in after last night and keep Rooney on the bench for now.

    De Gea
    TFM Smalling Blind CBJ
    Schneiderlin
    Fellaini Mata
    Lingard Rashford Memphis

This'll probably end up about 400-0, thus allowing Vangle to claim that we've turned a corner for the 30th time this season.

Predicted a 2-0 win, but I genuinely think it might be 0-0 at half-time.

This is the game that if Van gaal gets anything other than a win there should be a riot. Aston villa should not be in this league. Horrible bunch of players.
