Maybe wrong, I assume when people say that, they mean the game passes him by, not that he's incapable of passing a ball or moving around the pitch
No. They pretty much mean he stands around doing nothing like he was a lamp post. Others go as far as saying he can't pass the ball at all. No middle ground exists.

Funny you should pick him because he only played 20 games in total before being sold by Fergie which kind of proves my point ----Gibson has played more than that this season. Strangely D2 who was an established CL player and cost money was given a much easier ride on the Cafe than Gibson ever has --- but then as Pogue said the amount on here with 'spoilt brat' syndrone has grown considerably.

A little bit of both.

More precisely the kind of cnuts who would spew bile at an academy product who - shock horror - might not be good enough for a long-term career at United. The kind of spoilt twats who want all 25 of our squad places to be taken up by established stars or FM legend teenagers.
I can understand having a distaste for those that spewed the hate at Gibson, and the idea of any squad bar Real being loaded with world class is a joke rather than spoilt, I concur. I was just wanting to separate the abuse factor and muppet type from those that simply don't think Gibson is good enough but do it with some respect or would like to see a player of proven class brought in.

The funny thing in the whole Gibson situation is he he's basically 6th choice and not many clubs have a 6th choice that is a really top player, even Real.

which says a lot about the knowledge of those same posters ---- the players have a competition amongst themselves where they try and hit the crossbar from a variety of distances etc. When asked who usually wins it 2 players were named Scholes (of course) and Gibson.

You get a lot of abuse on Twitter when you have a lot of followers. It's just part of it. I'm sure Nani and Rio get quite a bit. I've got 10,000 and I get my share. You've got to just let it run off your back.

Still, any supporters who feel the need to lash out at Gibson on Twitter are idiots. How is that going to help the situation?

I'd say the portion of United fans that moan about fellow supporters far outweigh the spoilt brats.

Nah, you're wrong there.

Either that or unfamiliar with the thousands upon thousands of posts on the Internet from people complaining their way through arguably the most succesful period in the history of one of the most succesful clubs on the planet.

This must end. The young man is 24 years old and some of us slice him in to pieces. It's embarrassing that his own supporters act like this.

He's not my favorite player, far from it, but he has done nothing wrong. He just play to his ability and do his best. What more can you ask for?

As number five or six in MF pecking order he's alright. A few weeks ago I wanted him to be sold. Not any longer. As a true and loyal supporter I changed my mind. This is not the United way. We trust in our players, especially young one's.

Come on Gibbo! Prove us wrong. You can do it.

To be honest the whole scapegoating thing is way out of order, he hasn't really been that bad. He isn't good enough for United and will never be but he isn't as disastrous as they claim and he still does the job as a fringe player.

In a way it's a good thing this has happened because it could be the catalyst for a real kick in the ass for him. He has some very good attributes but, the work rate / effort sometimes outwardly doesn't seem to be there.

There is no telling how sheltered some players are and maybe Gibbo is a bit too comfortable in his current role. Maybe now he decides, you know what - next time I go out there I am going to give it all I've got, try really take the game by the scruff of the neck and all that.

Still think if he spends a little time in the summer perhaps shedding a few pounds and doing some speed work - it might really make a difference in his overall game.

It's an united theme I think you go on RI and 90% the people there are moaning about plastic fans spoiling the atmosphere.

This is a forum, simply accepting that we're in the most successful period of our history, leaves little to be discussed. Most of the complainers you talk about simply want the best for the club. And I really don't understand how saying that Darron Gibson is not good enough makes you a spoilt brat.

Darron Gibson says he came on to see what the lads were up to....he came off because he couldn't be bothered with it not any other reason.

Thats's all well and good but as fans you can only judge potential/talent on the basis of what you see of the player in games, not crossbar challenges noone has seen.

He figured out he couldn't be bothered in less than 2 hours? Would have been better off saying he didn't need need his family/friends seeing some of the comments and instead would just go back to focusing on footballing and doing his best for United (or get his PR agent or borrow one and get them to craft some statement for him).

The couldn't be bothered sounds a bit weak.

This is disgraceful stuff. It's not his fault that he's being picked is it? Jesus.

For the stick some people give Arsenal fans, some of our supposed support is disgraceful. He's still young and can develop into a good player, I'd have thought the Fletcher scenario would give some people a bit of perspective.

Games alone prove what most people say about him as baseless hyperbole and at times pure bullshit. When he has played he has proved can actually pass the ball and he doesn't stand around like a lamp post either. The problem with most fans of today however unless you are performing like you were Scholes/Keane in his pomp you are referred to as rank shit. Regardless of your skill set, the fact you are a young player still learning you trade, trying to do it with limited playing time.

Why do you think we keep hearing comments like Anderson will never be a first 11 star for us, for example, even despite his obvious outstanding talent?
Total lack of patience.

I think thats probably the best thing to do. It is saying that he is not affected at all by what were said there and just simply, cant be bothered. I am sure he was suggested to join by Rio and most probably warned what might happen. Having to do the filtering, like what Rio has to do too, will be 'bothering' him as well.

Really? Have you never said 'oh feck off' during a football game?
yes i have, I'm just a fan entitled to my own views, however i owe respect to people who create this sport week in week out. Don't get me wrong - If Torres dived i would leave him a message criticising this behaviour but not him as a human being.

Being named John Terry.
I can say he's a twat on here or talking to my mate but i wouldn't twit (is that a word?) it on his account.

Edit: a good wind-up would be tasty though
