Do badly? You might get fired first though...

There's no real way to force a takeover without FMRTE, sadly.

The good news is that in this patch if you do well sometimes the Glazers will expand the stadium which adds a couple more million to your monthly income (I got an expansion to 91,000 or something), and still a decent transfer budget.

Still hard to achieve, in past FM's stadium expansion was never if, but when

Or make them hate the club, that used to work in past seasons.

Your rep would have to be untouchable, sell all your best players and have a season or 2 on vacation with your reserves

Just wandering...does the whole, having players with previous PL experience help when building a team thats expected to be relagated?

Just finished my first season with Birmingham. Managed to finish a respectable 15th, while maintaining a net spending profit of about £250K. I was on course for a mid table finish until my strikers decided that they didnt want to score anymore, and my defenders decided they couldnt actually be bothered to stop the other guys from scoring.

Anyways, I'm having a big clear out, all the dead wood can go and hopefully I'll be given a reasonable budget to work with. I'm very interested in Boruc, but I fear he will be pricey.

Right so I went with Southampton, because since FM2008 Southend have managed to get themselves into debt. I'm just done with pre season friendlies. Got Damien Johnson and Stuart Parnaby (CM and RB) on loan from Birmingham. Looking now for a good striker.

I got James Vaughan on loan with Notts County. I'd wager you'd be able to get him if you have another long-term domestic loan spot.

DId you use Parnaby and Johnson at all? Because I managed to get them on loan without offering to pay for them.

I didnt use Parnaby, but I used Johnson throughout the season. He played pretty well.

Think you've got yourself a fantastic loan there. :)

I signed Beckham on a free in January, was a bit of a rash decision and am now regretting it. He's on big wages and just has no pace to play on the wing. feck knows how I'm gonna get rid of him.

Managed to survive my first season in League 1 by the skin of my teeth.

But only managed to improve on my team with a slightly better right fullback. I have good players who want to come to me in the transfer market but as soon as the season finishes my TV rights and season ticket sales just about cover my losses I accrue through salaries so I can't spend any moneys :(

That's what I get for trying to entice good players with 25% wage rises

Been given a strong budget on £19 million. Hoping to sure up the defence with the signings of Turner, Zarate and Brouc. Also found two bargains from the lower leagues at a smip, just £1.5 million each.

I had Vidić score a hat-trick (all from corners obviously) against Arsenal. The corner bug still exists in a different method...

Bug?

I didn't know that but Rio banged in two long rangers, had to watch a replay to make sure it was Rio  and Vidic scored a couple from outside the box too. They seem to score mostly from freekicks when the ball gets cleared and it falls to them.

In FM 2008 and FM 2009, challenging the goalkeeper on a corner + corners to 6-yard box was guaranteed to get you goals if you had the correct personnel (not too hard - just high Jumping). On FM 2008, the bug also existed for near-post + 6-yard box too, although less effective.

Now it's different. Now you put your best jumper/header attacking the far post and your second-best challenging the goalkeeper, inswinger aim for far post. The one at the far post will often head the ball down for your player challenging the goalkeeper to head or slot home. It just seems like SI put a very quick fix to the original bug but there's something flawed still lying around.

Vidić did something like that for me too - 25-yard curling volley after the opposition tried to counter-attack but stupidly gave the ball away. :D

Welbeck and Macheda had to go as the scout reports were they would potentially be someway off Rooney's standard. Welbeck for 10m (Chelsea) and Macheda (9.5m) to Napoli.
.

Well, that's not a good move at all. 99% on players in the world are someway off Rooney's standard.

Macheda, particularly on my game becomes a pretty decent striker, I rotate him usually with Dzeko and Rooney

Horrible, horrible season. Horrible. Conceding well over 2 goals a game, and it feels like more. Looked like figuring in the playoff race at Christmas, I'm hanging on for staying up. The annoying thing, I look back over my last 15 games, and I've won three of them. Scorelines? 4-0, 4-1 and 5-1!!!

The fan confidence thing is bizzare. For instance, I just sold 34 year old Mark Viduka for £500K, having bought him on a free and him managing just 1 goal in 17 league appearences last season. Yet, the fans are distraught.

My season was kinda similar, albeit in the PL. Up until Christmas I was looking comfortable for a safe mid-table finish, then come January my team just collapsed, my strikers couldnt score, and my defence couldnt keep a clean sheet for love nor money. I ended up just about staying up.

A potential game ruiner, I am sick of unrealistic confidence levels that don't take into consideration your finances and club reputation.

I stuck Beckham in the middle where he's pretty good, and on the wing he's not bad as long as you back him up in terms of pace (i.e. Rafael).

3 man midfield, and surround him with pace.

One thing that bugs me, and this seems to have happened in every single version of the game...

93rd minute, nearly over time added on
Your losing or drawing and have to get a result
You've set your tactics to overload, zero time wasting and you have a free kick / corner / basiclly a chance to get the outcome you really need from the match.

Why in the feck do your players then just stand there for 45 seconds, doing feck all and then the time runs out...when you could have taken the free-kick etc quickly while their players hadn't got back intio position?
