I finally watched this and finished season 3.
I was anti before watching and then sceptical when starting, found episode 1 rather unfunny and boring, kind of annoying actually, then decided to continue after a friend said he thought it was nice and the ultimate "feel good" series.. which indeed it is.
It got so much better, amusing, entertaining, some very well written episodes, and once I realized one has to suspend the disbelief completely of an American who doesn't know what offside is managing a football club day to day (things like, entering the dressing room before the game for the team talk, going, "right, coach, who do we face today?"), I thought it was very enjoyable and decently stood up the test also for a football fan like me who follows the league closely.
They tackled mental health, they tackled gay footballers (if very rose-tinted), they tackled the super league, ... I wish they had tackled the 115 charges too, instead of all this Man City wankfest they had going on.

Why would they do it?
Seems pretty clear they re doing this because they want to give people some feel good tv during these uncertain times, like how it did during Covid. Admirable - but just hope they ll find a way to make it feel a bit fresh because they tied it up pretty well last time.

I hope they do a full scale representation, ala those tiny dominoes leading to mountains falling, of how an empty Old Trafford comes crashing down because the kit man yanks out a leaky faucet or some such.

They managed to end it at a point when we can still remember it somehow fondly. Of course they were gonna go the Scrubs/Futurama/Money Heist/etc way.

Just finished. It's okayish feel good soap opera. Shoulda ended in 3rd and that's that
1. The plotholes are off course visible for us football fans. A coach like Ted finishing 2nd with Richmond would have jobs lined up all across Europe
2. Keely is so annoying with her skelly looks.
3. Nate is too cartoonish, he could he ambitious but his extra knife twist are very unnecessary
4. Can you be dick liking and turn into chick liking in a moment?
5. Ted hasnt show how he's a great coach. Tactics wise and even pep talk wise he offers literally nothing. Not even something smart to make his achievement believable.
6. I found no comedy in there at all bar a few reference we football fans understand. Zava? Ffs
