A Chinese billionaire bought a painting with his Amex for $170m so we could fund about 10 per cent of the stadium that way.

If people are that bothered by oppo fans opinion … surely the move away from leaky roofs, derelict toilets and mouse traps is a plus?
Aren't those the people who are pushing hardest for the new stadium though? It baffles me in truth. You notice that some of the the people who go against any reservations are ones who rarely visit old Trafford anyway but it will look nice on tele
Yes. The ETH stand. The SAF stand will be renamed in the new stadium I guess ?
It has always surprised me that we haven't played on being the Red Devils more, not just having Fred the Red frolicing on the touchline, not exactly intimidating.True, but moving to a stadium which is surrounded by families having picnics and Swiftie fans hardly makes our new home a daunting fortress.
Stretford End = Raiola EndYes. The ETH stand.
It was a sarcastic comment hence the sofa remark.
But what reservations could someone have on the club regenerating an area around the new stadium and using it to earn more money?
Yeah, you mentioned it after a hundred other people said it too. Your trophy for originality is in the post.I mentioned it looked like a circus tent a few pages back. It’s obviously very apt given the club we’ve become.
But moving in has not made them better has it? Has it made Arsenal better? As I said a thousand posts ago, didn't Arsenal explicitly blame the building of a new stadium for them not being able to keep hold of their best players?I have to laugh when people say Spurs weren't competitive while building their stadium... When exactly have they been competitive? That period is the best they've been in the last 30+ plus years. They finished in the top three in the Premier League several times and they were in a Champions League final. Did they win anything? No, but building a new stadium didn't make them Spurs.
I mean design definitely split opinions, am looking at it the 2nd day and am more on the side not liking it as it just doesn't scream Man Utd along with looking a bit weird and too extravagant for my taste.. talking about exterior, one pic from the air and on the side looks nice though. In any case, it's not just English fans, tried to search bit for Juventus, Barcelona or Real Madrid fans opinions and they all lean more to not liking it. Which is again not important because you can truly judge the stadium by how it will look once it's finished. Also, how iconic and great it will become, will be decided by the players, games played inside and most of all atmosphere.
But am sure as hell gonna miss Old Trafford. Am aware it's best for the club financially to move but am really loving that place. Will be a sad day when we move on.. Hoping to see it few more times if I do have a chance. Don't care even if we remain shit as we are.
Each to their own, seems a strange thing to worry about to me.Well you'd have to ask them as I can't know what's on other people's minds, but in the case of the post that sparked this conversation. It seems they want the stadium to be focused around football and not turn into Tourist trap that's as much about eating, shopping etc as it is football.
This again. Our prices went up massively years ago and have probably levelled out in comparison with other teams or where they should be at.Think somebody needs to show the cost of an average ticket and season tickets at the other PL clubs. Remember our tickets prices have been frozen for a number of years and that could not go on forever.
I thought the four stands where going go be named Malcom Glazer Stand, Avram Glazer Stand, Joel Glazer Stand and Jim Radcliffe StandStretford End = Raiola End
Sir Bobby Charlton Stand = The Antony Stand
SAF stand = The ETH stand
East stand = The Jlingz stand sponsored by Stake
My take is that the majority of football fans couldn't tell you what the outside of any stadium looks like really apart from their main venue to they go to matches at.
I'm much more concerned with the inside and how it looks/feels actually attending than I am some outside pictures.

Not enough it appears. It would be an insane amount if we were not so much in debt. This again. Our prices went up massively years ago and have probably levelled out in comparison with other teams or where they should be at.
I find it fecking bizarre how people on here are so accepting of having to pay more. The club makes an insane amount of money already.

It generates an insane amount of income. Makes feck all. This again. Our prices went up massively years ago and have probably levelled out in comparison with other teams or where they should be at.

Let's all be honest here, this new ground and "regeneration" project is going to benefit a few rich people and make them even richer. Its impact on the average person is gonna be forcing them to dig a bit deeper into their wallets to watch this circus.
Thank you for your input. Your trophy for most pointless point is also in the post.Yeah, you mentioned it after a hundred other people said it too. Your trophy for originality is in the post.
Fortresses are created on the pitch … but hostile venue “can” be created off of it …. But let’s be honest, when is the last time OT was a hostile venue for away teams? It can be a superb atmosphere at times … but hostile?True, but moving to a stadium which is surrounded by families having picnics and Swiftie fans hardly makes our new home a daunting fortress.
You would think this unveil is actually inviting potentional investors/sponsors/naming rights companies to the table? You would have thought to get this far, they might have an idea where they can get the money. Otherwise they will look incredibly stupid.
I assume it’s less than complimentary if you’re highlighting itAnyone posted the side-by-side comparison to the Butlin's in Minehead yet?
And if you're not sure what I'm on about, Google it.
Ah yes thanksNo, the North Stand is the 3-tiered SAF Stand.
Current Stretford End should be around 12,000, I think?
You wouldn't like the interest. I got rid of my Visa when they upped the APR to 17.5% from 11%. Mind you, I suppose blokes with that kind of money get very favourable rates. If it is enough to pay for a stadium I would like one of them.
Thats one wide screen ratio! In the video with Norman Foster explaining the design, they show the wraparound screen being used to show match highlights.

I feel seen.I assume it’s less than complimentary if you’re highlighting it![]()
That's a long number.
