The last decade has demonstrated very clearly that there's no accountability as the US president or even as the UK prime minister. Do what you want within your term, lower standards or break the system it doesn't matter.

What's worse is when standards fall it's easier for those like Trump to get in. I don't think we'll see political normality for quite some time.
