I really like it. Very unique. I'm surprised by the negative comments. I guess there will always be grumpy people. Would be interesting to have a poll.

Have you done a stadium tour.
Have you seen the deck below the football pitch.
Why would I? It's a football stadium, I am a football fan, I couldn't give a shit about what's below the bloody pitch. And as a football stadium it is incredibly bland.

It’s different but not feeling it. The trident thing could be realised in a better way surely. It looks like a circus tent, which is apt really

Has anyone pointed out that it looks like a circus tent yet? I mean, it looks nothing like a circus tent but hopefully someone will be original enough to come in and call it that.

People seem overly concerned with the cost. I guess that is natural. As an investment, it is meant to give the club more ways to get revenue. It will be interesting to see what is said on ticket prices (as the stadium is likely to be filled just because of the novelty of it) and amount of season cards available.

On one hand, some people are concerned with this version of United not being attractive to younger fans - while still being opposed to a futuristic, modern techy design.

I legit wonder if the "stand" (or side in case of a bowl) names will be kept, the key facts mention a "New Stretford End"

Now that you mention it... *inserts a totally original and never seen before joke about a tent, a circus, and clowns"

So many just post without reading what has already been written. I guess not everyone wants to read 20+ pages of other peoples' opinions though.

Some miserable reds in here.

A new $2B stadium and surrounding area investment which will put us straight to the top of the tree in terms of stadia and match day experience and people jump on the media bandwagon of ‘generic’ and ‘a circus tent’ cause we’re ‘clowns’!

Be disappointed and downhearted about the team and our performances and I’ll join you for a pint but come on, get on board with this and let’s try and use it as a springboard for some much needed positivity.

I’d put my house on everyone changing their tune on opening day.

Looks like what Mordor would look like in a modern-day reboot of Lord of The Rings. With the eye of Sauron being the gaping black hole of the Glazer finances.

Overall I quite like it, it's a bit weird but most stadiums look pretty same-y. It would look more at home in the Middle East though.

Can't see it happening for a long, long time if the government are involved.

If ever.

Meh.

There's every chance that Me, my parents and the vast majority of my mates won't be able to afford our season tickets anymore.

The fans that are the lifeblood of the club will be pushed aside.

Please forgive me for my lack of excitement.

Well according to a statement by The 1958 it does look generic.

It's true but I think a lot of it is cost based. These generic bowls are probably much quicker/cheaper to build. There's an element of not being able to please everyone but I do think it's sad there seems to be a clear lack of interest in preserving OT or elements from OT. It very much has the look of 'let's build the biggest stadium we without much interest in it's aesthetic and then drape a net over it + whack some towers on to change its outline.'

These were Ai generated when the stadium was mooted and all of them gave a nod to the cantilever roof to some degree. Surely there was a way to get a bit more of OT into the new stadium.

Fair enough but can’t you wait until you know for sure?

The club need some positive news now more than ever. We know the media will jump all over it as a waste of money, or it looks shite, etc etc. Would be nice for all fans to be supportive.

I don’t get to go much at all, live on the south coast so cost is prohibitive but I’m still excited over a new stadium and what it might bring with it.

Wonder if anyone has said it looks like a circus tent yet and that that is fitting?

I love the design personally and think it's going to be an incredible stadium and an incredible area. We should be happy our club is at the centre of such an ambitious transformation and investment for an area of the the NW.

Going to be an amazing journey seeing it come together. Imagine being able to go to the first competitive game there!

Designa are always going to split opinion. Criticising the people involved because it's not to your taste is a bit of a weird one.

A new stadium was inevitable, it wasn't ever going to be financially viable to fix OT.

As for the reveal, there's an awful lot to like, turning it into a visiting complex instead of just a stadium will stand the club in good stead. I love that it's different to the standard bowl that most recent designs have been. It'll have a unique silhouette, and while the covering does look a little like a fishing net, it's growing on me, and I expect it'll look a lot better in reality.

Great to have some positive news coming out of the club after a tide of negativity.
