Absolutely spectacular. Was expecting this to be way more drawn out and end up with something generic but that looks iconic. Love it.
 
Will this have a retractable pitch a la Spurs and Madrid? Surely a requirement now for venue versatility, especially with a complete new build.
 
I don't like the design, it's too out there

I'd prefer a nice big imposing stadium, Tottenhams is really nice, and surely we could use a sort of "base" like that and then make it unique

How will it work with all the debt?

Liverpool supporting husband said it looks like a circus and now I can't unsee it (although as others have said it'll be appropriate for our clowns)

The thought into the surroundings is good, i like that, and hopefully the stadium will be able to be used for other things to bring in revenue they don't really mention that in the video?

Makes me sad OT will get demolished, hopefully they can add a few pieces of it to the museum, I've seen on theme park videos parks sometimes auction off parts of old rides, perhaps we could do that with some of OT so fans who want to can buy them?

Surely the Munic clock/statues etc will all be relocated to the new stadium?

I don't think it should be a worry to be honest. Naming rights and the revenue it will pull in should make it quite easy to pull off.

I'd be very surprised if the net cost of this would even come close to the revenue it will generate.
 
I am bemused after watching an interview where Jim the rat claimed he didn’t even think of ways to donate 40k for ex players, now all of a sudden we have the $ for the best stadium in the UK.

The Pitch looks like it's going to be 15 metres below street level (2 storeys down effectively) So I'd imagine the plan for stadium gigs is to fit an additional temporary floor suspended above the pitch.

Given this low level position the living grass will need to be artificially supplemented with growing lights as it won't get great sunlight. I think this "sunken pitch" approach has been taken to keep all the levels close to the pitch without making the building uncomfortably tall compared to it's surroundings.

Moving the pitch in and out isn't an option unless you have a lot of clear space around the ground. What I really like about the design is something Foster said. It's not a stadium surrounded by a sea of empty car park spaces.

Can't really discuss it and it's not a pipe dream. I know it's hard for some of you to accept positive news but this is happening. Work should begin as soon as the government give the green light on the regeneration project. Foster says five years to build, no longer than 2032.

 
Stunning, with so many features drawn from the magnificent So-Fi Stadium in California, where the research team did a lot of their work. Most importantly, they have used the acoustics / stands development at the So-Fi as a major influence on this new icon. Manchester United will walk out to an absolutely deafening atmosphere, which will give the visitors the feeling of walking into a very hostile environment. You can build massive stadiums and fill them with 80/90 thousand fans but if you fail to get the design and acoustics right, such as AT&T Stadium in Texas (home of the Dallas Cowboys NFL team), you will lose that advantage of crowd noise. Personally, I am really pleased to see that this feature was made a very important priority. They spoke about it during the research team's video of their visit to California, to undertake an expansive study of the So-Fi stadium. Glad to see that it looks like they will deliver.

With the stature of the club and that stadium, top players will want to play there. If it takes five years to get it open, great...perhaps optimistic but the earlier the better. The next several years needs to see everything else improved, especially consistency on the pitch with a general overhaul of the first team squad. The stadium. at least, looks like a wonderful plan.

Looks bonkers and I love it.

Will it be able to be built alongside Old Trafford so we don't have to move?
 
I know the idea of maintaining a smaller version of Old Trafford for the youth and women's sides was financially unviable, but it would be amazing if they could keep the pitch. A public football facility for local fans to use on the original Old Trafford pitch would be amazing.
 
Glad it looks like the fans are still close to the pitch and there's not some track around the pitch to push the fans back.

Yeah feck it, that looks spectacular.

Just a pity it doesnt look like the original OT playing surface will be maintained for posterity.
