We will win this but it would go right down to the wire and probably involve an undeserved and gargantuan slice of luck. Perhaps a freak own goal from Leno.

Interesting that we can actually score goals, if we can get the CBs up the pitch. I'm going for a win
If you're talking about he last game at Ipswich, obviously going down to 10 men forced his hand. With a full 11, do you think Amirom goes that route? I have my doubts...

Think Sociedad should be at the forefront of Amorim's thinking in this.....

Would like to see Lindelof, Ericksen, Casemiro and a couple of the youngsters get a start

shame the squad is wafer thin

    Absolutely not.

The EL and FA Cup should be at the forefront of Amorim's mind. We've enough players to prioritise the remaining games in both of those competitions.

Any resting / rotation should be done in the relatively meaningless remaining PL matches. It would obviously be good to win plenty of those and finish as high as possible and gain some momentum. But it's a lot less significant if we lose any of the league games than if we lose in the remaining knockout cup ties.

We need to go strong and get a win and momentum. Last things we need is a loss going into Sociedad and all the negativity that will bring.

you are probably right @Keanes Magic Hat and @Bertie Wooster

Just that Bruno looked absolutely busted in the last game

just hope we get a bit of luck with injuries
Looks like Rodri, who injured his ACL, might play before Shaw and Mount. Sucks to not have a close to full squad at this critical juncture. Would be interesting to see how Amorim keeps his players freshed. Hoping we get the job done in 90 mins as ET would really scupper our preparations for the EL tie midweek

I would assume he will play a weaker side keeping Sociedad in mind.

And they'll probably get a really good result just to give the manager more headache selections.

    Onana
    Dalot
    De Ligt
    Maguire
    Yoro
    Mazraoui
    Ugarte
    Bruno
    Eriksen
    Garnacho
    Zirkzee

    Completely agree

Was it the FA Cup when we played them and they were playing us off the park until they got a really stupid red card?

How many goals will we concede today? 1? 2?

I've been blindly saying it all season. Garnacho and Rasmus have a far higher level than they have been showing. Zirkzee too. It's about time they got their heads out of their asses and stop having the defenders showing them how it's supposed to be done

Hell no. Play the first team.

I think hope pretty much everyone of them has a higher level then we are seeing out on the pitch.

Normally we concede first and often within 20 min. But Fulham are yet to score against us this season.

    Yes!! This

Hopefully we win and draw Preston in the next round. And City get the winners of Newcastle/Brighton. It's funny cos we're the third lowest ranked team left in the cup after Ipswich and Preston.

Villa are still in it aren’t they? Can see us getting either them or Newcastle if we win. City will get Preston or forest. They’ll need to make sure they win a trophy after the bad season they’ve had. Can’t let pep have a trophy less season can they

That's barely believable, if we didn't know it to be true.

And should that unlikely scenario happen, you know there'd be all kinds of comments about us getting our 'usual' easy draw. Completely ignoring the fact that we've drawn PL clubs all the way so far while City haven't faced one yet!

I'm not overly optimistic, it's the exact profile of game that we've struggled appallingly since Amorim took charge: at home against a decent upper-mid table side. 0-2 defeat.

Will probably miss most of it as stuck at in laws

It's a shame we don't have anyone that can come in for Onana and Hojlund, neither deserves to start for us atm, I'd even question if they deserve to be on the bench

With Dorgu out, I'd love Amorim to be brave and go with Garnacho as a left wing back.

    On the ball:

    Hojlund
    Zirkzee Eriksen
    Garnacho Bruno Ugarte Dalot
    Mazraoui De Ligt Yoro
    Onana

    Off the ball:

    Hojlund Zirkzee
    Garnacho Bruno Ugarte Eriksen
    Mazraoui De Ligt Yoro Dalot
    Onana

Unfortunately see them as favourites. Every good/decent team that's come to Old Trafford since December (Forest, Bournemouth, Newcastle, Brighton, Palace) won. Fulham fall in that category. Even against Southampton and Leicester we struggled and won those games only late on.

I think he’ll be tempted to start Lindelof and rest one of the CBs, maybe MDL. He’d also be tempted to rest Bruno but the team completely falls apart when it comes to ball progressing passes and chance creation without him, so I doubt it.

There’s really not many permutations otherwise. Maybe Zirkzee up top and Eriksen at one of the 10s, and Hojlund benched?

Bit late but this has to be used as another chance to experiment without Onana

Hojlund in goal and Onana up top? Neither can be as bad as the other.

We had two young keepers on the bench against Ipswich... We might not even have a viable option in order to experiment.

Chido got to be starting judging from the preview of the tops on the Man Utd “X” account
