Toney telling everyone. He’s ready for a big move. We should be all over him. PL proven.

I can't remember in 30 years of watching football there being such a lack of talented strikers across Europe. You could say similarly about other positions too. What's happened?

More money than ever in football including towards academies, yet less quality players are produced

Who do people think is the top striker target out of Toney, Zirkzee and that German guy

Chelsea seem to be advancing on Dhuran who looks a class young striker to me. Bigger potential than Osimhen and a perfect PL striker. Villa are crazy for entertaining any offers really, and given the age gap, I’d have said they’re about a year away from trying to shop Watkins for mega money and going with him as their 9.

The three we are linked most with this summer are Toney, Zirkzee and Jonathan David. Which German guy are you referring to?

Would be interesting in the opinions on Zirkzee and David from people who have seen them play. Never seen either in a game.

How about Semih Kılıçsoy? I think he's in the squad for Turkey on the Euros.

According to the Utd stand content guy (yes I know) we are doing due diligence on Toney. Thanks but I will wait for someone more reliable first

Surely Serhou Guirassy at 15.6m release clause is a no brainer? A guy who’s score 40 goals in his last 52 games in the Bundesliga. A big strong experienced striker to play alongside Rasmus. Even at that price buy him as a squad option.

We need to start taking advantage of these kinda deals even if it is just to flesh out the squad. I am not overly enamoured of the idea of Zirkzee, another young striker learning his trade to play alongside our already young striker trying to learn his trade.

Guirassy reportedly is close to seal a deal with Dortmund. After Füllkrug hasn't entirely convinced, Haller doesn't seem to come back to his best after his cancer and Moukoko doesn't develop as hoped he would be their likely first choice striker. And he isn't a character who would like being a squad/bench player.

We have just have a had a bid rejected for this young striker Samu Omorodion. Around £27m. Atletico Madrid want something like £40m, which is crazy because I have literally never heard of him until just now and he has just 35 top flight games to his name. Villa also want something in region of £45-50m for Duran.

looks to be David and Zirkzee as the two main attacking players they are focusing on...both around the 35m mark in cost

young, attacking players will fit into what Sir Jim has stated his focus would be

David is a very different type of striker to Zirkzee. I think he can operate in any of the positions across the front line and is very quick.

Not seen enough of either of them play to make a assessment of who imho would be a better signing.

haven't really followed Zirkzee after he left Bayern, but I'd happily take Jonathan David. Still only 24, but good track record (43 goals over the last 2 seasons) and shouldn't be too expensive, given that he only has one year left on his deal.

Never seen Omorodion play but heard about him once. From ehat i heard he is supposed to be a bit of a freak. As tall as the tallest players. As strong as the strongest players and as quick as the quickest players.

yes....David is a winger who has bags of pace and a good track record for scoring goals where Zirkzee is more of a CF type player

both are good dribblers of the ball and don't mind taking on a player

again...35m seems to be the going price for both of them. I think we'd have to sell Greenwood first in order to push through these two deals and possibly Sancho or my preference would be Antony

Both underwhelming signings too.

As a Canadian I hope Jonathan David can move to EPL next season. Spurs, Villa, and even West Ham is good for his development as long as he can play every week.

£70m is what Olise would cost and Toney is probalby £70m-£80m.....you could buy both David and zirkzee for that price
Ohhhh, sorry mate, misread your comment, my bad.

Yeah, not sure I'd want both of them but either would wake more sense than spending double on Toney or Olise. I'd like Olise if we can shift Greenwood and Sancho though. Maybe loan Antony to see if he can recover his career.

Honestly, how good do you actually think he is? We've been linked with him since before he went to France. Consensus seems to be our scouts don't think he's good enough, or what he would cost.

Jonathan David?

He is a lot like Lacazette and has had a similarly successful Ligue 1 career. Striker with good finishing skills and decent combination play but a mediocre physical profile - easily pushed around by CBs and not very fast over large or short distances. He rarely dribbles and has never really played wide in his career.

I only watched him in the national team so it is not fair as the quality is lacking in the team. My opinion is he is not yet ready to lead the attack for a top 4 side.

Luka Jovic apparently is available for free. Is he an option as a backup CF?
