Sofyan Amrabat | signs for United on loan

Well, duh. Amrabat is an alright looking defensive midfielder for a mid table Italian club. Anyone saying themselves otherwise is probably deluding themselves. The type of teams interested in him as a starting level player illustrate that. Atletico would've probably been in for him in a similar way we will use him.

We're mostly after him because he's somewhat cheap, somewhat of a plaster signing over a position in the squad, and has played under the manager before. He's also mega keen on the move which is making this emergency signing a lot easier.

How is it an emergency signing when we have been linked with him for the majority of the window? If anything it looks to me like we had to sell to buy him. The annoying thing of it all is how late we left it.

I don’t get why fiorentina are entertaining this, been tapped up as far as I can see and now they’re only getting a loan fee, disgraceful and unprofessional by the fcuking idiots in charge of the so called biggest club in the world. Glazers have brought this club onto its knees used to be pioneers in this industry now we have a loan for a left back who let’s face it is dross, and the only reason this is being forced through is the player

They bent over and had their pants pulled down by Juve for Chiesa. When they could have got 60 or 70m up front for him.

Utd are just doing what Italian clubs have been doing for years.

Never thought we'd be in a position of absolutely bricking our shorts that Fulham might beat us to a deal, and we had to find an emergency LB with the only redeeming feature is that he is free.

I know, when we should be in the position of making Fulham an offer they cant refuse for the likes of Palhinha instead

Because we're signing him on a loan with an option type of deal on a deadline day scramble. We've had interest, sure, but it's only fully materialised because our key midfield signing got injured and we need another profile who is more similar to Casemiro. Phrase it how you want, it's clearly a late signing being made with a level of rush to it.

By what time do we need him to be registered to play against Arsenal?
He won't play against Arsenal. He'd have one day to train with the team if he signed in time. Would be very risky for a high profile match.

If they are our only incomings today I can't imagine people will be very happy...

True. But if there’s one thing we learned from this window it’s that Samual Luckhurst hasn’t got a notion what’s going on so pay no attention to his tweets

"Palhinha is a midfield clogger who's bounced around Portugal on loan because Sporting weren't sure about him until he was 26. If he was any good bigger clubs than Fulham would want to sign him."

"Paqueta failed in Italy and has only done well in a farmers league, if he was any good someone better than West Ham would be in for him."

That sentence would have been said on here in a second if you said we should have signed them when Fulham or West Ham did. How many signings look exciting on paper and then end up terrible and vice versa?

We had interest in him well before Mount was injured....

Reguilon is an emergency signing, this isn't. Making ends meet and trying to find away of getting a player in isn't an emergency signing, even if it is the last day - as you said late. The loan followed by option to buy sounds more like finding a way for it to work with FFP imo.

Fulham will sell Palhinha and use the money to sign Amrabat (after it becomes obvious to the player that we can't come through with the money) and the meltdown in here will be something to behold.

Don't want to be a party pooper but there most be reasons why this guy is available for 20 to 25 million, while other players in his position went for over 100 million (Caicedo, Rice) or 65 million (Palhinha).
Actually there are quite a few reasons for that:

Last year of contract. Later stage of his career. Plays in the Seria A. Is an African country national.

Was the derisory offer ever confirmed and is Tariq Panja just commenting on the alleged derisory offer or confirming it happened?
Yeah, I think this 2m loan offer thing was debunked yesterday evening by someone more reliable. Think maybe Romano.

The post you’re replying to is ridiculously deluded. It’s like the poster has never watch Amrabat play like ever! :wenger:

Does this mean he will be off to the AFCON as well, like Onana?

And we’re reduced to getting excited about the possibility of signing a moderate upgrade on Fred who no other big clubs were in for. State of this club.
