If you're Vila surely you go big on Poch, and if he's not up for it go for Potter.

What he's doing at Brighton is incredible
Feel like Potter and Brighton are a match made and get Charlton/Curbishley vibes from them. I don't say this as a bad thing as Curbishley did great things with Charlton. For me, Brighton and Potter should ride for as long as they can.

The trend in managers is a high forehead / full baldness. Pep, EtH, Conte (before he got his transplant), Klopp (when was the last time anybody saw his head, he hides it under a cap) etc.

Managers with a zero forehead like Gerrard are doomed from the start.

Why would he leave Brighton for Villa?
Villa are a much bigger club, have rich owners with more potential.

While he's doing great work at Brighton being a selling club will only take you so far.

Reckon Gerard will be the first managerial casualty, promptly followed by Rogers and Lampard. Scott Parker might be treading carefully after the 9-0 drubbing from Pool on Saturday.

I think Gerrard will be first as they have higher expectations. If we don't win tonight I will start to be worried but we have far less expectation than Villa do or should have right now.

Agreed on Potter but think he would be better off holding out for a bigger job - top 4-6 or back abroad to a similarly sized club.

he's went from the next Liverpool manager in waiting, to on the brink of being sacked by Villa. He got 2 tough games in row coming up v Arsenal and City, then he faces his old firm nemesis wee Brenton who himself is on shaky ground.

I feel like Potter is going to stay until a big club comes in for him.
Yeah I agree, there’s any number of mid table teams that would want him but he could argue he’s made Brighton a mid table team now so what’s the point in moving. Top 6 next for Potter. My guess would be Tottenham or Arsenal

No way he survives until we play them (and if he does it means they're in better form)

I reckon they'll give him the City game and bin him after that, especially if it's a cricket score. They've got an alright run of fixtures for a new manager bounce after that

Not many top managers out there. Maybe Zidane fancies it?
Mancini? They missed out on the World Cup, but maybe he wants to wait for a big Serie A job.

Funniest option is they hire Beale from QPR who was apparently doing all the tactics for Gerrard for years.

Today will probably be Gerard’s last chance to get Villa back on track. Any new recruitment will undoubtedly scrutinised by their supporters.

Slippy has got to be bang in trouble now. Not able to lay a glove on a Leeds side playing a full half with 10 men, and currently being compared unfavourably to Tim Sherwood by Villa fans.

Highly likely to be shown the door if Forest do them next week, I'd have thought.

I'm actually gutted it's gone so poorly for him at Villa. I was hoping the Scouse would do a United and appoint him as their next coach ala Ole.

He's a colossal bellend.
What a weird thing to get so fecking tetchy about.

Obviously can't handle the pressure of being in the big chair.
