"Manchester United are considering a move for Jamie Vardy, but Leicester are reluctant to let the 36-year-old former England striker go."

Between Rabiot, Icardi and Arnautovic, you really have to wonder if the key criterion for buying a new player is "are they a cnut?". If yes, we're interested.

I would say I give up but I gave up a long time ago.

Ancient striker after ancient striker after ancient striker. The cycle continues.

He's trying to extend his deal currently, wouldn't read much into this.

I'd take him until we can find a next-5-season type of striker. Better than the others we've been linked with. Can leave the wife at home though

Feck. I will take Icardi now. While I understand we need a striker, Vardy doesn't give a different option. Moratta would be perfect and will take Icardi too.

Vardy train has passed. Great player but couple of years late.

Almost 36 fecking years old. We are on a huge trolling mission. Target: How to drive you fanbase into complete meltdown.

Would actually be a great signing for this year. Has some fight in him at least.

The board do know they can sign a striker under the age of 30 right? Is this us from now on then never to sign someone to lead the line for the next 5-10 years again, just going to float from one past it striker to the next?

Of all the crazy rumours about old forwards this is the least crazy. Knows the league, can run like hell, will lead from the front, at least 10-15 goals a season.

As a short gap solutions I wouldn't mind it. But it HAS to be accomdated by another forward and Ronaldo leaving if he can't adjust to life under Ten Hag.

To what extent are 'journalists' just making stuff up now, because it is really easy to get clicks on United transfer story at the moment? I know a lot of transfer stuff is made up anyway, but seems a bit excessive reently.

TBF he's the exact type of striker this manager wants. But he's 36. Hahahaha

Much better than Arnautovic or Morata.

We're going upwards in quality. Good.

Fecking autochange. Would rather have a cat though.
Like this?!

His goal output was good end of last season but did spend three months injured.

Always felt after rejecting Arsenal he'd just retire at Leicester but could be tempted I guess by one big payday.

You've really got in a mess with strikers haven't you going after all these 33-35 year old options every summer.

Being reported by the Mail, the Mirror and the Sun now - so I think we can rest assured knowing this is definitely true.
