 If both can stay fit it improves the squad so I don’t mind too much.
Strangely Lampards best performance as manager here was against you guys with Gilmour and Barkley in the midfield (Mount the other).

Maybe he feels if he can reunite them it would alone get you enough results to at the very least not be in danger of the drop again.

What’s up with Gilmour these days? He looked decent when coming through, but haven’t heard of him for a while now

Lampards biggest mistake was loaning out Barkley.. when he was one of our most inform players at the time.. couldn’t believe it.

Chelsea definitely need to add. They know this, or they wouldn’t have been in for trying to sign the people they were.

I have been worried about Arsenal since they started showing they had a methodical plan and identity they were working toward. And then Odegaard… really didn’t want them to have him, he really ties the attack of his whole team together.

Conte will build a Spurs team that accumulates points and will be a factor in top 4 again.

And United are United.

So we will have to see what Chelsea adds, not just to add, but so they can move on the people that need to go for the team to gel. The only teams I see locked in for top 4 are Liverpool and City.

So yeah Chelsea stalled on the deal, that much is true I guess, so not just a PR statement as claimed :D

Yeah, wonder why they stalled the deal. Was it because player wanted more time as Xavi spoke to the player?

Also why did they go back, maybe they were convinced once they completed simulating FM for few years to see how his stats are :D

It was probably panic stations after that 4-0 loss

Weird that they're getting rid of Werner, he was one of their better players in the CL and in the big games. His runs are perfect for the 5 at the back system.

Yes. He was good in the 3-2 win at the Bernebaue in the 2nd leg, and Chelsea looked worse after he went off. He missed the first leg as just coming back from injury in the 3-1 loss at the bridge iirc.

Nah he’s shite and they are right to get rid. Waste of money which I called from the off.

Mostly the starting 11 for everton game. Done well with minutes and fitness level getting up. Front three of mount, havertz and sterling pressing was top notch.

Reece was not upto speed. Cho played as RWB and his deliveries were getting better. Still need confidence to take on players but he is getting there.

Koulibaly looks a class act and got the 26 his favourite number .. I am not too critical but Mendy should have done better for their goal.

Chilwell not getting time was a bit worry. Hopefully in today s match he will get time. Tuchel was bit cautious with him in my opinion.

And midfield of jorginho and kante top class when they are fully fit. Gallagher need to do lot to stake claim in midfield. Have kovasic as well.

Today friendly will be lot more interesting. Hopefully broja get game time and perform well.

Looks like we'll be sticking with 5 at the back? We don't have the midfield combination to play 4 3 3.

We actually need to sell quite a few players and thin the squad out, not buy more as things stand. A lot won't get many minutes if they stick around.

Are the club intending to keep Alonso and Azpilicueta? Both seem to be getting minutes despite it feeling like they were leaving since the end of the season. Especially Azpilicueta. Thought it was he last season.

Still boggles the mind that Barca can outbid other clubs with the financial state they are in. Financial prudence/discipline clearly isn't part of the club's vocabulary.
Indeed

He suited our system perfectly. If he had the finishing of Anelka then we would be in dreamland.

Go watch Havertz goal vs Man City in the CL final and watch Werner make the space for the goal. This is typical of why we created so many chances that season but he is also the primary reason why we missed so many sitters unfortunately.

That being said, clearly Sterling for Werner is a like for like replacement.

I said when he signed he was nowhere near as good as the hype. He’s technically so far off the required level which results in him fluffing so many moves and chances. His movement and energy is good but to be honest that’s the minimum expectation. Just knew he’d flop.

More chaos in the transfer window!

Cucurella is a good player but just adds to the view little thought or planning is going in to Chelsea’s business. I’m reading he can play LCB however that’s Koulibaly’s favoured position isn’t it? I’m also not sure in the logic in paying £50m for a full back and playing him out of position? Then moving Koulibaly to accommodate him? Just give Colwill a go instead?

Really does feel like a football manager game at the moment and very un-Chelsea like.

Have city pulled out of it now?

From what I've read on here, I think the Chelsea fans would prefer to keep Colwill than lose him for a £50M left back, when they already have Chilwell?

The moment Boehly started spearheading all the club's negotiations and directions this was always going to be the outcome. It's no different to Woodward, Chelsea had better hope that a DOF / sporting director is in the pipeline because they will encounter a lot of issues down the line.

That's always been the plan.

1 August.
We still have no director with the ability to put the house in order and put the club back on the market, no one understands anything, not long ago I commented that the one of the few positive things was that we hadn't made any panic buys but it seems we've been going around Europe like a chicken without a head.

Todd seems far too innocent and only something very serious that we don't know about can justify Marina's removal and no planning for her replacement.

One of the big problems recently has been the departure of young talent from the club.
What is being done to Colwill is neither fair nor consistent.

Tuchel is not helping in the midst of all this mess.

Cucurella is a good player, but never a 50 million player, plus it doesn't make any sense.
It's not what we need.

It's sad.
Todd came in here with no plan at all at least on a sporting level.

Club already announced president of business and he is actively looking after business side of the club.

Todd actively looking after director of football as well. Talked with former Liverpool DoF. Club announced before January we will have DoF.

DoF is important position and shouldn't be appointed hastily. So taking their time to appoint a proper person.

Will see where we are at end of this window.Till then enjoy the ride. :)

Most talk about chelsea 3 at back formation they simply thought it's flat three and with WB s it's flat 5 but our wing backs heat map when chilwell and Reece fit were better than attacking wingers of many teams in attacking third.

Why we need WBs/FBs most questioned. We need them because our attack evolves around them and Alonso and azpi most likely will leave.

We will add three more additions to our squad minimum in my opinion. Two will be defensive positions. One fullback one center back preferably. One attacking position either striker or winger depends on who will leave.

If we get those we will be lot better than last season.Minimum 15 points above than our last season tally will take us around 85+ points. Is that enough for title challenge we will see.

Surely chelsea must have someone lined up if they are letting werner go too. That would leave them with just havertz as a recognised forward with Sterling and Mount to support. That attack would look even lighter than ours.
