He has too much baggage attached to him. I don't think Tuchel wants this distraction tbhit is interesting that so many clubs are looking for striker but there is no interest in Mauro Icardi at all.

Shame we didn't get Kounde, TT cost us him i think.
What did Tuchel do? I kinda missed that bit of news.Yeah Tuchel's fault. Not because he preferred Barcelona.

That said I think people in the PL underestimate just how much pull Barcelona (and Madrid for that matter) have amongst Latin American players. Nothing else compares for them. With all the drama that Barsa have had the last couple seasons players still fall over themselves in order to go there and don't want to leave.

By all accounts Tuchel was skeptical of Kounde given his height - Marina et al were the driving forces behind our push to sign him last summer. Also there have been reports that Tuchel wanted to potentially use Kounde at RWB on occasion and Kounde wasn't keen.
Also this fits into the broader picture, which is that Tuchel wants to transition our team away from the 3ATB he's been shoehorned into for the most part.
Well we have more than enough to see off top 4 challengers. But We didn't improve enough to challenge top 2 unless we give up domestic cups early stage to concentrate on league and cl.Even if all we do now is bring in one quality CB and let the want aways go (Bar Dave) I’d be happy.
Sterling to replace Ziyech is an upgrade
Broja to replace Lukaku is neither here nor there given Lukaku flopping
Koulibaly for Rudiger is pretty even
Gallagher coming into this side is a big boost to our midfield options
Then we have Colwill who gets a shot with one more CB to improve on Christensen.
Then next summer window we target a Silva replacement if Colwill doesn’t cut it and go for a forward and Rice
Yeah Tuchel's fault. Not because he preferred Barcelona.
Honest question, do you believe this? Do you remember the last 50 percent of last season?Well we have more than enough to see off top 4 challengers. But We didn't improve enough to challenge top 2 unless we give up domestic cups early stage to concentrate on league and cl.
That's best bet for us to challenge the top 2 for league. If we go further in domestic cups we can't keep them fully fit and fresh.

I always believe in this team. We improved slightly in attack instead of Lukaku and werner we have sterling and broja. Midfield we have Gallagher in stead of Saul. Defense look bit weaker but we added numbers in ampadu and colwill both are rated by tuchel. So we will see.Honest question, do you believe this? Do you remember the last 50 percent of last season?

Will see end of season. No one from below us from last season table will finish above us in my opinion. If so i will admit to you I overestimated my team squad in this thread coming end of season.I think you’re overestimating your own squad and underestimating the rest

Yep, we had a major injury crisis, an unprecedented ownership crisis and 5 tournaments to juggle (while all the teams chasing us all only had the league to focus on by the time we got to spring) and we still made it reasonably comfortably.Honest question, do you believe this? So we just what? Assume Chelsea will get comfortable top 4 based on what? Hopes and dreams?Yep, we had a major injury crisis, an unprecedented ownership crisis and 5 tournaments to juggle (while all the teams chasing us all only had the league to focus on by the time we got to spring) and we still made it reasonably comfortably.
Because of everything that has happened, there is no pressure to fight for the Premier League this year, so the atmosphere should be different.
I think the squad is good enough to be able to play attractively and get results.
There is still a possibility to buy one or two players.
It would be important to hire a strong director to put order in the club and the day to day.
But the image that Tuchel gives is not a good one.
The football played last year and many decisions difficult to understand do not help.
A reset was needed in a way, fresh head and new ideas, there seems to be all the opposite to that.
So we just what? Assume Chelsea will get comfortable top 4 based on what? Hopes and dreams?
You say reasonably comfortably but Arsenal were on course to finish above you before their collapse and they’ve improved. Spurs have improved as well. That’s actual results on the pitch we can analyse.
If you really analyse Chelsea under Tuchel then they needed a Leicester collapse on the final day to get top 4, they had a good three
month stretch under Tuchel before a wretched second half of the season.
If we have evidence of anything it’s that nothing indicates any sort of comfortable top 4 finish.
I think you’re overestimating your own squad and underestimating the rest
I think it’s fair enough to say we have enough to finish top 4. Unless you want him to outright lament our chances, he’s just saying we have a squad more than good enough to finish top 4. Other teams can make the same claim, hence why it’s looking like a 4 way battle for 3rd and 4th.
No mate we have very good winger now in sterling who we can build the team around. He rarely got injured unlike our wingers Puli, cho and ziyech. So we just what? Assume Chelsea will get comfortable top 4 based on what? Hopes and dreams?

If, buts and maybes can work both ways. You say we benefitted from Arsenal's collapse, well they sure benefited getting us at The Bridge when they were fresh and we were off two intense knockout games one of which going to extra time, swings and roundabouts. So we just what? Assume Chelsea will get comfortable top 4 based on what? Hopes and dreams?

Oh I agree but I don’t think you have ‘more than enough’ which suggests it will be easy nor do I think currently challenging the top 2 for the title is realistic.
Unless pool or city (or both) have bad seasons then no one is getting top 2 this season. United won’t be as trash as they were last season therefore 3-4 will be between Chelsea, United and Spurs. Arsenal will be 5-6 again.Oh I agree but I don’t think you have ‘more than enough’ which suggests it will be easy nor do I think currently challenging the top 2 for the title is realistic.
It's the usual "we didn't want him anyway" "we didn't want him so badly" pr stunt that clubs do when players reject the move. If Tuchel wasn't convinced then Chelsea wouldn't have spent 2 summers to sign him, they wouldn't have made effort to agree fee with Sevilla.
Straight from the horses mouth.
Maybe they started to have doubts and pulled out after learning that Barca are in for him and made an offer? You don't negotiate for months and then just pull out randomly.
Straight from the horses mouth.
They had doubts on player willingness to join? As that's what was reported that last min Xavi spoke with the player and player travelled for preseason.
Monchi says the deal was agreed between all 3 parties - Sevilla, Chelsea and Kounde. Hence the ‘he was sold’ bit. Don’t know if Chelsea pulling out was a reaction to the player being seduced by Barca. That is obviously a big possibility.
Maehle linked with us recently for wing back back up. Can play in both wings as well. Decent back up if we signed him. Not sure about dest.We should let Azpi and Alonso leave if they're not happy.
Looks like Dest and Braithwaite can be available, backup full back and striker for squad ?
We should be looking to give Colwill and Ampadu a chance to breakthrough this season.
How many defenders do we then need ?
