And, once again, R. Madrid dodges the most dangerous bullets (City, Bayern, Liverpool).

Easy route to the final for Liverpool. They'll win it.

We smacked Real Madrid last year. Kante ran rings around Modric and Kroos and single-handedly dominated midfield. Havertz has also improved significantly from this time last season as well.

If Reece James is fit I think we’ll get through them again.
Yeah, I see Chelsea as a bad match up for Real. I mean if you're doing a combined XI who of Real makes it into Chelsea's side? Benzs, Alaba (if at LB/LWB) and Tibo (although I would have him on par with Mendy.)

Not that I remember? Ramos missed the first leg if I recall and then played the second leg. Needless to say he struggled.
They had injury issues. Without being able to rotate properly, the team was running on fumes by the time they played us.

City have struggled this season against teams that are organised and defend deep, so I won't be surprised if Athletico Madrid get one over them.

Can't complain about LFC's quarter final opponents.

Watching Liverpool and City battling it for the CL after they had just battled it for the league while we are struggling to finish even 5th will be the cherry on the cake for the miserable state Man United has reached.

I see Redcafe is fully behind Bayern.

How would people rate Bayern's chances vs City/Liverpool in a CL game? Who'll be favourites and by how much?
Slim for me, strong team but not the relentless Bayern we saw under Flick for me. Best hope for us is probably Chelsea in my opinion, if they have a fully fit team they can beat Pool or City without it being much of a shock.

Pool barring a huge shock are through.

Same for City. Athletico are awful, as in truly awful, they’re basically our level and we are currently a plucky team chasing an EL place. The only chance is shithousery and a bent ref and some red cards as I see it for them to win. That or Pep tries something ridiculous tactically that knocks them out.

I get where people are coming from in perhaps fancying Atleti against City. But after watching a poor United side dominate that first half a few days ago I just can’t imagine City having much trouble with them.

Can envision City having like 80% of the ball and causing Atleti’s slow midfield and defense all sorts of problems. And I don’t think they have nearly enough firepower at the other end to hurt City.

Liverpool are going to win the Champions League aren't they? I think I'm going to be sick.

Now praying for Julian Nagelsmann and Bayern.

City and Liverpool two favourites for both UCL and PL. Same time UTD cannot even finish in top 4.

Jep, our improvement won’t make up the difference. Chelsea got this.

Liverpool and Bayern of course going through. Not sure about City-Atletico.

If our ownership situation is sorted by second leg, can we then sell tickets? That could have a big impact.

Getting to the semis before you have to play someone half decent. Some crazy luck Liverpool have.
They'd have been massive favorites against Ajax as well. Looks like things are falling in place for them in paper. I'm hoping Benfica do an Atletico job on em

We'd been crippled by injuries all season long and got to that SF on dead legs. Ramos injured, Medy injured, Kroos playing through injury, Valverde injured, Rodrygo injured, Modric run into the ground, no RWB...

Second leg away changes things somewhat. Will fans be allowed at SB?

Not the most interesting draw. Can't see either Liverpool or Bayern not go through. Atletico could make life difficult for City, but ultimately I don't think they will. Real against Chelsea could go either way, although Chelsea seem more solid with Tuchel being quite pragmatic in these ties so far.

So one side of the bracket is pretty much nailed on for me, and Liverpool Bayern will make for a cracking semi final. Hard to predict, because Bayern under Nagelsmann are a bit puzzling at times. If Goretzka and Davies are back that should definitely help Bayern, but if Nagelsmann decides to go for his one man midfield it's anyone's guess.

And the league. And they've already won the League Cup. FFS.
Properly f'd. I hate the Glazers. They've done this. Years of mismanagement has led us to the point where Liverpool are now going to start eating into everything we built up under Fergie.

And the worst thing is, we'll be back here next season after the club has shafted the latest coach they've brought in with bad signings and contract renewals of past it players who can't help us.

So one of last year's finalists will be this year's finalist (Chelsea or City). Tuchel could win back to back CLs.

It’s incredible really that in an open draw. The three strongest teams have somehow drawn the three weakest.. quite something.

I don’t feel as sad going out now. Couldn’t deal with a 2 legged torture against Man City.

I think I’ve finally reached a point where I genuinely want the best team to win the CL. Even if that’s Liverpool or City. It’s tough to see them win the lot but our purpose of being fans cannot be to just hope for rivals losses.

Yep. Leti are being rated on reputation instead of current level.

They haven't been the team people think they are for quite some time.

They're generally speaking quite dire this year, and it was pretty amazing that they were leading at half time. In general over both games Utd were poor, which City are unlikely to be. They'll struggle more than against the majority of PL teams because Atletico are still a well organised defensive unit, but City's talent on the ball overall will be the difference.

Currently 3rd in the league and in deep existential crisis. Bayern and Liverpool are miles ahead current Chelsea.
We’ve played Liverpool 3 times this season and have been just as good as they were in each meeting. We in fact outplayed them for portions of those games as well.

They aren’t miles ahead of us at all.

Nice!

Apparently the norm says games cannot be played at the same time the same day, but it's possible if the games are played in consecutive days.

Thats why all 3 fixtures between Chelsea and Liverpool this season have been very even.

Redcafe goes into Meltdown with Benfica and a small chance of Villarreal in Semis.

Yet "miles ahead Liverpool" haven't beaten Chelsea in 4 attempts with the last one a penalty shoot out.
