Do you type out #sfm every time or does your device know to autopopulate it immediately?

It usually autopopulates. I bet my wife that I'd never refer to him in any other way (as he hates it) until we get rid of him.

Scotty from marketing changed his mind because it was unpopular.

Man has zero planning skills and zero foresight

Always slightly safer when there are fewer unvaccinated people in the country. Safer still when there are fewer ant-vaxx nutters here.

I don't know why many Setbs are making this about him being Serbian. His nationality is irrelevant.

Well... in Serbia only 46% had a vaccine dose. It is possible that covidiots like Djokovic are the majority there. Unfortunately, the whole Balkans are full of antivaxxers and conspirationists (I am Greek... ).

(edit: I mean that any covidiot conspirationist from Serbia will make it about him being Serbian... and there are a lot of them!)

What this man said.

People from the Balkans just take everything personally or nationally when you point out they're being idiots.

I have first-hand experience...

The most crucially important detail about this story is that it's very, very funny.

If only Australians have shown this much resistance towards never ending lockdowns from which they have suffered so much.
We have not done so well compared to the rest of the world :wenger::wenger:

Most of Eastern Europe is like that. Poland has about 55% rate and a huge number of Covidiots. We got 700-800 dying daily on a regular basis (almost doubling the usual death toll from all causes) and nobody seems to really care, people don’t generally believe COVID is true and even in the 55% a lot of them got the vaccine just to be able to travel or work.

Working with some Balkan people at company I am now with they seem to be saying their society is basically the same or worse as Poland.

Issue with people like Djokovic being openly anti vaccine is that they have huge following and become example for these people which inevitably leads to people dying because of it. It’s very dangerous.

If only the Novaxx fans wouldn't be so butthurt about this.

Dunno whats the issue, between Djokovic and Austrakia is kinda clear, cant enter the country end of story but if Austrialian govt. and AO org told him to two different things, thats different matter, because in that case he should be on this crossroad month/s ago.

Effectively says Tennis Australia and Victorian Governmemt believe testing positive in the past 6 months is a reason not to be vaccinated but the Federal Government disagree with this stance. These may not be the grounds on which Djokovic applied but a likely scenario.

Also mentions how the legal challenge may be if the other exemptions provided to players already in Australia is because they contracted Covid in the past 6 months.

If there are a few other players that made it through customs with the same exemption rationale/evidence as Djokovic what do people think the likely outcome will be? I genuinely don't have a clue.

At the end of the Federal Government has the final say. But of course it should be universally applied.

To be perfectly fair, I think this is the Victorian government and Craig Tiley’s fault rather than Djokovic for this debacle, as they granted him the ME in the first place undeservingly, but then again, it’s play stupid games win stupid prizes for the anti vaxxer, the whole thing wouldn’t have happened if he had just shut his mouth and got jabbed.

I wonder if Australia sent back the money Novak sent them during the fire that happened 2 years ago.
 imagine that giving money to charity 2 years ago have anything to do with being vaccinated or not.
This is all very disappointing. I was a huge Djokovic fan. I love watching him play and I think he could be the greatest player of all time.
Now I wished that every Grand Slam just refuse him to participate until he get vaccinated.

:lol:What a mess. I expect this kind of shambolic organisation more from Johnson's Britain than Australia.

Looks like Djokovic's hearing in the Federal Court is at 4PM local time. Though some Twitter accounts and reporters allege this has been adjourned till 6PM.

He is being held at the Park Hotel - prison where several other refugees have reportedly been detained for over 8 years.

BoJo probably tries harder to do his job than Scotty M in all honesty.
Scotty from marketing is pretty much our Bojo.

Just bojo is more competent.
I understand Scott is widely derided as an idiot, but I struggle to believe he can match Johnson's sheer ineptitude and laziness, let alone arrogance, self-entitlement and flagrant cronyism.

Maybe a debate for another thread.

First of all Djokovic is an utter moron for his anti vax thing.

However, the Australian authorities and govt have acted stupid too. They should have never given him the exemption and would have absolute valid reasons and rule to do so. To give him the exemption and allow him to enter Australia and then change the rules after protest is something I'll never agree on.

There was never any need to create this type of scene. Should have just denied him entry earlier and case closed. The level of incompetency in govt is unbelievable.

That isn't exactly what happened and the requirements to enter Victoria and enter the AO aren't the same as the requirement to enter the country.

That said I suspect a special case might have been made if #scottyfrommarketing hadn't shit himself when to his shock he found out that a) we don't like rich and famous people getting special treatment and b) the Victorian government weren't prepared to take Federal decisions for him (and any associated blame).

Martin Foley (Victoria's health minster) has said today that the Feds gave Novak the Visa originally.

That's also on Djokovic

He bragged on Instagram about getting an exception and it riled up a lot of people. The govt just read the room and made a popular decision on the back of it.

How comes Australia still has such strict rules on this? Do you guys have a really low vaccine uptake or something? Surely all players are going to be tested everyday/be pretty isolated.

Whilst I can't stand Novak and his stupid vaccine stance, Australia does seem on another level altogether in term of Covid policing.

How can a state issue visa to someone to enter the country? It has to be given by federal/central authorities. If players with same reason for exemption as him have already entered then I can not imagine him not winning the case.

I do wonder what would have happened without that braggy post  the karma is delicious.

He'd probably have not had his visa rejected and AO would have quietly explained that he met some medical exemptions which no one would have probably cared about. He really did bring about a lot of attention to himself with that post.

Maybe, but the fact remains that he entered the country legally. To have that changed after he has entered the country is still wrong.

It's everyday business. It happens all the time (of course only to a few people). Djokovic's case is in not unique in that way that he enters the country with a valid visa only to be stopped by the border authorities.

No he didn't. He didn't enter the country. People with visas get them cancelled all the time when they don't fullfill the requirements for the visa they applied for.

The original statement was he got the visa due to a medical exemption, with the supposed reason for rejection on entry that he had failed to provide the necessary evidence for the exemption. Both of those could have been the correct decision at the time if the evidence was to be shown at border entry.

He hasn’t entered the country has he? His visa has been rejected so he has not entered the country. His visa/paperwork don’t meet certain criteria’s so he is being sent packing. Australian border is a nightmare I was quizzed massively last time I was there.

Is that not how it works?
