Would you prefer taking slow approach in transfer window or an massive overhaul of our squad?

I thought it's worth to post the video here, it's a great video.

, they explained perfectly.

This is something Woodward could learn from if he needs to make decisions in the long term, not short term fix or changing value.

Ole seems to understand we have to take a slow approach in the transfer market like 3/4 out and 3 or 4 in, rather than a complete overhaul of the squad which is very high risk and could set us backwards. He needs a coherent team who can have cohesion understanding on pitches.

I feel like our first team is half good with the likes of Pogba, Lindelof, Shaw, De Gea I believe is good for us in the future but the rest need to be upgraded in RW, RB CB, CM and DM. Another attacker if Rashford is not setting fire on and be an average striker.

I think in the next three 3 season is very important for us as we need a better return on investment and hope they'll turn out to be a good signing.

Big overhaul.

I don’t think we can afford a slow overhaul. The teams outside the top 6 aren’t as far off us as id like them to be.

A couple of good signings and Wolves would finish ahead of this United side.

If you include youth players I’d promote, big overhaul.

People remember the class of 92 coming through, but they forget how many left that Summer and how different the squad looked from one season to the next. It got criticised, but ended up being a master stroke.

I’d immediately come out after the Cardiff game and say “Garner, Chong, Greenwood and Gomes are now all officially promoted to the first team” let Herrera announce he’s leaving, wave bye to Valencia, get James wrapped up next week..

Get that ball rolling early so we know next season will be a new-look United.

Big overhaul. Not even necessarily that many in, I’d love to see about ten get shipped out though. That would be a good start.

Already said it few times, burns this squad to ground, few players might survive thats about it. Dont care about "you cant do this in one transfer window", we pull 5 out and 5 in, they will be infested in few months time and we are back to scratching our heads talking about deadwood. I wouldnt care even if we are 10th next season, majority of those rotten fecks dont deserve the money they earn. Which usually i wouldnt care about that much because of its not our money so its either players or owners but for some fecked up reason, watching these fecks trying to play this game called football and thinking about them picking up their wages next day, i feel like being robbed personally.

I can't see Wolves signing player worth 50-100m

My point is, it doesn't have to require a massive overhaul if Ole know what he is doing. Matic, Young, Mata, Lingard, Herrera, Darmain, Valencia could leave up to 2020, they are all considered as deadwood with the exception of Herrera, they all could be replaced with new top player signing, we have to make sure there won't be more deadwood.

We can sign many players we like this summer but it won't be successful, take Fulham for an example, the video explained it perfectly. What we need is a coherent long term, to build a squad that is capable of challenging City for trophies. To play an attractive brand of football, we need more cohesion understanding on pitches, rather than having 10 players from each other clubs to play for us on the first opening day of PL next season who never played together before on pitches, that would be bad for us.

The irony is the slowest of approaches would still require a massive overhaul of the squad. There is way too much shite in there

Massive overhaul, we need to sell everyone, including the tea lady. The culture isn't right in this club, we need to absolutely change every part of it.

I dont know what this qualifies as for your question, but let a lot of the players go. Then buy only top quality. If we have to take 3 windows to get the right players, and be mid table for a couple years or so i'm fine as long as at the end of 2-3 years we've built a top side. Don't buy third-option type players, just wait and go for the top top players. I reckon that will take 2-3 summers.

Just please feck off the likes of Sanchez, Rojo, Darmian, Young and one of Jones or Smalling and I will be absolutely delighted.

What constitutes massive? 5/6 players?

Easily doable and it’s the minimum I’d be happy with

I think we should not make a big overhaul. Key for us should be improving what we got. We have been terrible at doing that. I can't think of any player who has really developed a lot since joining us past SAF. Rashford and Mctominay has as our own products. Lindelöf and Shaw has improved, but probably not as much as we would have hoped for.

We need to bring in quality in the right areas for us. Also develop what we got.

Not sure we should focus too much in the long run. Next season is important and we need to bring in players that could help us in the short term. Although we should not loan in guys like Falcao to do it.

I like Tifo’s videos but I disagree with the premise of this one. All the teams who they mentioned that made incremental changes had strong foundations. We don’t. We have tried incremental changes for years but it isn’t working. Why? Because 1) those changes have largely been ill thought out and 2) there’s too many weeds in the garden preventing the flowers from growing.

Of course I’d prefer 4 excellent signings to 8 average ones but it’s clear that there’s a complacency and lethargy about the club that has come from too much tolerance of mediocrity and too low standards.

The real question is whether we have the right people in place to execute a successful upheaval. If not, it might be best to keep changes minimal so we don’t waste more money.

We simply can't take a slow approach, we don't have enough quality to build on, only DDG, Pogba and maybe Rashford would get into any of the other 'big 6', and there's doubts about DDG and Pogba even being here next season, I say embark on a massive overhaul, never mind 4 or 5, it needs to be double figures both way.
The squad is toxic, players don't care, whether that's because of ego's, being overpaid, no competition or whatever, if Olé wants to be managerial legend he needs to make some huge changes, get rid of the dross, scoop up all the best young talent available (sod the cost) and mould them into a team worthy of Manchester United.

Massive overhaul is my preferred choice, a slow approach is what is going to happen.

I think it’s my 1st summer window as long as I’m following Utd that I’m more interested in what’s leaving as to what’s coming in.

6 in 6 out for me so not overly huge, it should be 3 attackers and 3 defenders brought in seeing as we are terrible in the final third and terrible in defence, create a clinical attack and a rock solid defence and we will be heading in the right direction, the midfield is ok for now even if Pogba leaves, in fact it may turn out to be a positive, ask yourself would Liverpool have been able to do what they did against Barca with Pogba in their midfield strolling around?

though if De Gea goes then that is 7 in and 7 out.

Overhaul with more leaving than joining. Too many bluffers in the squad.

Biggest overhaul of my lifetime. I don't mind settling for being out of contention for a while if we're building something.

I think it's more that the current group of players have a terrible attitude and bad habits.

My worry about a gradual change of say 3 players per window is that they learn these traits from the existing squad.

I initially wanted a slow process by keeping players like DDG, Pogba, Herrera, Mata, Lukaku etc. and adding 3-4 players in our most lacking positions this summer. This would allow us to keep quality players while getting rid of players like Darmian, Rojo and Alexis and adding quality to the squad. However, I now think that we have to get rid of everything that is rotten in the club and start from scratch. If Pogba and DDG doesn't want to be here, they should be sold. Lukaku is not a top quality striker, and should be sold rather sooner than later. Herrera and Mata are neat players that could help us short-term, but we shouldn't give them 2-3 year contracts with high salary. By clearing out all the bad apples and bringing in hungry players with top mentality mixed with decent abilities and potential to improve, we should be a top team again in a few years.

Sell as many as we can, buy as many as we can. I don’t get the point in waiting or trying to ensure a smooth transition. Why bother with a 3 in, 3 out approach? To maintain that team cohesion we don’t have? We’re a mess, and we’ll play like a mess until we get some better players.

I have given all my patience to this lot too many years. A full massive overhaul would be very welcome and I'd give them two years before expecting much more than whole hearted effort.

DeGea, Lindelof McTominay Dalot and Rashford I'd keep. The rest, I just couldn't be bothered..

Big one. We're playing disjointed as a team as it is so it's not like new players are going to come in and cause new issues in that regard.

A few months ago when I went to the PSG game I realised how simple this whole thing was. In the first half they were very defensive. They doubled up on Rashford and Martial.

When Martial went off we ended up with Mata and Sanchez on the wings. They were abysmal. The players didn’t need to double up, they sent the full backs up and they were attacking.

When I last went Rashford was double marked. He was our danger man. They LET our right hand side have the pitch. They knew there was no danger.

If we add a threat from our midfield and the right hand side, Martial and a rashford look ten times better. If we don’t have to worry about the counter and quick losses in midfield, Smalling is ten times better. If our left winger had more freedom, Shaw becomes ten times better.

We are not far away. Three genuinely class first team players and we look like challengers again.

The question is, do you trust the Woodward&Ole combo to do a massive overhaul of the squad? What if they spend 200,300 million in net spend and then only a year or two later we get a new manager who wants his own players?

You can use the next three windows to change 10-12 . 5 this summer. 2 in January and 5 the following summer.

However, there is that statistic somewhere (I forget) that said roughly 20% of transfers are considered ‘successful’. Where we need to be committed is being quick to act when one of our next 4-5 signings don’t work out.

This summer Bailly and Fred would be good examples of players who seem to have potential but just haven’t kicked on. We should move at least one of them on while we can get a good fee otherwise we would struggle to move them later. We did well in this regard with the sales of Memphis and Schneiderlin.

Big overhaul. City finished 3rd in Guardiola's first season, 15th points behind Chelsea. They said that's not good enough, booted out 12+ senior players and signed six. Then they won the league by 19 points.

Obviously we can't do the exact same thing. City had the lure of CL football and working with Guardiola to attract top players and Begiristain to get the deals sorted. We have the Europa league, Solskjaer and Ed Woodward.

However the principles of what they did still apply.

1. They were ruthless. They didn't just chop the deadwood back a bit, they had a giant great bonfire. At United the same players fail season after season and nothing happens. Who is the City equivalent of Jones? They don't have one. They bought Rodwell the summer after we bought Jones, two years later they decided he was unreliable in terms of fitness and performance and they got rid. Five years after that and not only do we still have Jones on our books but have extended his contract until 2023. Now Jones is the worst example of United acting as a charity for millionaire footballers but he's from alone. Our squad is absolutely packed with players who aren't good enough and need kicking out the club.

2. Their signings were smart. They didn't buy players because it would generate social media buzz (Sanchez) or because it was an old mate of their managers from a previous club (Fellaini, Schweinsteiger, Matic). They bought players for their weak positions (Ederson and three new full backs) and players who slotted into Guardiola's system (Laporte and Bernardo Silva). This isn't rocket science, it's common sense and we can do the same thing. We know what are our weakest positions are (left sided CB, right back, right wing) and we know that Solskjaer wants athletic players (power and pace) and hard workers.

Do both of the above and I see no reason why our current deplorable state won't improve. Or we could just carry on down the same path we've been on ever since Ferguson retired and have basically the same squad next season plus Gareth Bale on £500k a week.

Massive overhaul. What is the worst that can happen. We play zombie football. We lose 9 in 11. This team hasn't shown anything that is worthy of preserving.

I think people looking at the overhaul often things it is just to change things around and it will work. It is not like our squad only got problems in it.
We need to do things in a smart way or we will just decline.

We need top quality players in rather than lots of average ones.

The idea that we need to go slow completely ignores what's actually happened in reality.

We've put players who might have been good into a shit team and it just erodes confidence and undermines their quality. We'll never move on til we do an overhaul and build a foundation from there, players who fail ship out and replace quickly.

It's a bloated squad, especially at the back, with a lack of quality.
If a centre back, right back, centre mid, winger, striker, are signed, I reckon you could happily lose
Rojo, Jones, Young, Valencia, Matic, Lukaku, Lingard, Herrera (gone anyway), Sanchez, Darmian.

If the money and players are available, I don’t see how risking the disruption of say 8 players coming into the side could make us any worse. I doubt we can play as bad as we have this last few months so balls to it....bring em in and let’s see what happens.

Chelsea under Roman and City under Sheikhs proves that big changes can lead to success. Liverpool also have a vastly different side to the one which played under Rodgers for instance.

So don’t buy this slow ass approach.
