Futbol Club Barcelona, commonly referred to as Barcelona and colloquially known as Barça is a Spanish professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. Founded in 1899 by a group of Swiss, English and Catalan footballers led by Joan Gamper, the club has become a symbol of Catalan culture and Catalanism, hence the motto "Més que un club" ("More than a club"). The club is one of three founding members of the Primera División that have never been relegated from the top division since its inception in 1929, along with Athletic Bilbao and Real Madrid. One of the most successful clubs in football, Barcelona has won 25 La Liga, 30 Copa del Rey, 13 Supercopa de España, 3 Copa Eva Duarte, and 2 Copa de la Liga trophies, as well as being the record holder for the latter four competitions at the domestic level. In international club football, Barcelona has won 20 European and World titles: 5 UEFA Champions League titles, a record 4 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, a joint record 5 UEFA Super Cup, a record 3 Inter-Cities Fairs Cup, and a joint record 3 FIFA Club World Cup.

The club is also famous for hosting some of the most illustrious names in the history of the sport...ranging from Kocsis and Kubala and Czibor to Maradona and Laudrup and Henry — and overall, its players have won a record number of Ballon d'Or awards (11), with recipients including Johan Cruyff and Suárez Miramontes, as well as a record number of FIFA World Player of the Year awards (7), with winners including Ronaldo, Romário, Ronaldinho, and Rivaldo. In 2010, three players who came through the club's youth academy (Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta, and Xavi) were chosen as the three best players in the world in the FIFA Ballon d'Or awards, an unprecedented feat for players from the same football school. The club has a long-standing rivalry with Real Madrid; matches between the two teams are referred to as El Clásico (arguably the most significant derby in club football). And they play their home games at the Camp Nou (the the largest stadium in Spain and Europe, and the home stadium of FC Barcelona since its completion in 1957).

    Please no Young.

Nothing to lose. We should believe in ourselves and have a go. Nobody would think bad of the boys if we come up short. This is Barcelona after all.

There is absolutely no way we get another dubious VAR penalty decision in the 93rd minute.

Barca got the weekend off. Would never happen in England.

A reminder of Barca's home form in all competitions:
    La Liga: 12W, 3D, 1L. 46GF, 16GA
    CdR: 3W, 1D, 0L. 14GF, 3GA
    CL: 3W, 1D, 0L. 12GF, 2GA

Their only home loss came in a 4-3 loss to Real Betis. We need the spirit of Betis behind us if we ever want a chance of getting through

We are going to get pasted, 4-1 Barca.

Expended so much energy against West fecking Ham that I don't believe we can sustain an aggressive press for 90 minutes. We obviously need to score but the aggression with which we attacked PSG in the first 20 minutes probably won't be there I expect us to absorb a lot of pressure.

Have a sneaky feeling Matic might come back in, at least in the squad. Mctom, Lindeloff and Young will be fresh, Rashford too.

I was really hoping we could pull this off again, until I saw the team that Barca fielded in the league yesterday:
    Ter-Stegen
    Murillo - Todibo - Umtiti
    Wague - Alena - Vidal - Puig - Malcom
    Boateng - Dembele
They literally rested everyone. They're not gonna be complacent in the slightest and will take this game extremely seriously. We're f***ed.

I think Ole will continue with 3 centre backs.

    -----------------de Gea
    ------Smalling--Jones--Lindelof
    Young--------------------------Dalot
    ----McTominay--Fred---Pogba
    ---------Lukaku------Rashford

Think we'll lose by a respectable scoreline, 2-0.

    De Gea
    Jones - Smalling - Lindelof - Shaw
    Fred - Scott - Pogba
    Dalot - Lukaku - Rashford
    3-0 Barca.

Can't wait for this. I can't understand how any of you have enjoyed anything about this Cl run, every post game thread is doom and gloom.
    Bring them on.

Sanchez is apparently fit for this game and Matic will be in the travelling squad

Herrera won’t be available because he’s signed a PSG contr- I mean he’s got a quad injury.

    Isn't Young banned for this?

No. Young performed poorly in the first leg but he wasn't booked. He was suspended for the West Ham game due to his red card against Wolves. Shaw is suspended for CL due to 3 yellow cards in the competition.

Bah! He didn’t get booked for that ridiculous sliding challenge early on did he.

And here I’ve been the past week comforting myself with the fact that he was banned.

    Freudian.

Oh, I thought he was booked in the first leg. Thanks.

I knew about Shaw, though. Gutted he isn't available for this.
I wish he could have been.
Hey, he'll score the winner in injury time to make up for his last showing! Bank on it.

Our predictions go out the window then :D

In a way this is kind of a 'free hit' - I just hope we go out there and look like Manchester United instead of the sack of shit that turned out against West Ham.
