Mass Shooting in Christchurch, NZ Mosque | 14th March 2019

 so I guess rich people who do excellent charity work is all that matters.

Anyway think @Florida Man Is right, his fanboys are far worse as we just saw.

I never said that, at all. All I did was disagree with the statement that he had done nothing for humanity.

Obviously you can give money to charity and still be a terrible person. But I don't think pewdiepie is a terrible person, I think he was an immature content creator who irresponsibly delved in to dark humour on a platform where it had no place. He's denounced the shooters actions and I genuinely think he is probably sickened by being associated with somebody like this.

the whole subsribe to pewdiepie thing is the contemporary version of video game journalism but for people who don't want an Indian youtube channel to win an imaginary war

This. I had the pleasure of having people at work today come up to me and try to show me the video. Then listen as other people gathered around on a break and watched the full thing. How can we be so desensitized to violence that this is a normal group reaction. Morbid, callous, fecks.
We live in weird times I swear. I have a collegue mate who has always been a french nationalist and ultra right but weirdly enough when we talked about it he was feeling bad for the people victim of that terror attack and their families.
It got me thinking that regardless of political affiliations everyone one has, we're all humans, mass murders, terrorist attacks should bring us together and not the opposite but some sad individuals will always find joy in the pain of others.

This isn’t the first person of these dangerous alt right types to come out in support of him. I’ve been reading about it today, and he’s quite popular among them, in many instances. I just can’t remember the details offhand, but this is not an isolated incident.

Everyone knows how dangerous these far right types are. If they support your work, and you don’t denounce them, then as far as I’m concerned you are endorsing what they do and say. There is no middle ground when it comes to people like this.

It’s exactly the same as the KKK and others of that ilk backing trump, and him saying there’s good people on both sides. If you don’t condemn these evil people, then as far as I’m concerned you support them.

He has denounced them, in numerous videos he's talked about it and has tried to distance himself from those type of people. He's also said that he's sickened that the shooter referenced him.

This guy was utterly insane, and his manifesto is packed full of memes and bullshit, it's no surprise he threw a subscribe to pewdiepie in there. He wanted what he did to go viral across the world and attract as much attention as possible.

Somehow I don't think this is really about a youtube battle where both sides win whilst the kids argue.

It's about deranged people who want to split the world and kill.

To be fair you have to understand what drove a person to do that. It’s why the manifesto should be printed even if it upsets some people.

Hunting makes you a scum bag? Or are you erroneously conflating trophy hunting endangered animals with people hunting deer, ducks, etc for food? You realize we’re carnivores right? Some of us hunt and eat what we kill. I would tell you what you clearly are, but you strike me as the type to run to a moderator over your hurt feelings.

Why would you need to kill for food when you have a store you can go to for food? Those who hunt in developed countries do so because they enjoy it and to paint it as some kind of survivalist BS like you're from some uncontacted tribe in the Amazon is just a cop out.

NZ's policy of only being able to own a gun if you want to go and kill things was always asking for trouble. Realistically, giving citizens guns in any country is asking for trouble. They're killing machines and a scourge on society.

Australia's last "terrorist attack" was port Arthur Massacre

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_Arthur_massacre_(Australia)

Lead to sweeping gun law changes. We are yet to have a mass murder on that level since 1996.

But some will say gun reform doesnt work...
I've watched many post mass shooting post conferences.

Never seen anything like this. The NZ PM comes across like a decisive leader. No jumping around the issue at hand.

This is a leader.

This is a moron who thinks criminals shouldn't be in prison and a hug fixes everything.

We're in a vicious cycle of violence....it's like a basketball match. You score, I score, and it goes on.

I think Andrew Yang hit it off the park. Humans ARE tribal by nature and when that's emboldened (which isn't that hard, seeing it's our nature) then it gets dangerous and we end up where we are today. I think anyone trying to deny that is living in a fantasy cooculand. I've lived in 5 different countries from all ends of the political spectrum (progressive Denmark vs. Hardcore traditional conservation Poland...Texas vs. New York) and you feel and sense it no matter what.

Very very controversial opinion, but that's why I have always believed that it's best for everyone's safety if every country in the world has an absolute racial majority. I used to live in Poland (and going back there next month, because I love it) being a very rare middle eastern guy in a 95% White country and while you get the odd look, it's fine and I had a great time and people were chill and fun...but once you reach a point with conflicting and competing tribes, and when dialogue cease to exist and one tribe sees its power diminishing, that's when radicalization takes over. I personally don't see it much as supremacy reaction, but rather insecurity because of diminishing power and influence. I think it's not just a white thing...I see my countrymen in Iran getting extremely hostile and aggressive towards Afghans and Arabs as especially the former cultural influence grows in the nation. I don't think any tribe is immune to that.

I think Yang is speaking the truth about the future of America in his case (due to diminishing numbers and eventually the power of Whites) ...I myself can see USA dissolving as the USSR did within the next 20-30 years maximum. But overall, I think the racial and societal conflict in the Western hemisphere will get bleaker before it gets better.

Surely, like, that is the literal definition of racial supremacy though, in that the tension's existence (in what you're describing) is inherently based off of diminishing power for your own race.

The headlines in general today have been shocking. Daily Mirror come out it all looking dreadful...admitted posting the video was a mistake after they'd done it, then threw away any potential goodwill with a terrible headline.

It don't know. As distasteful as it is to watch and with the risk it presents as far as inspiring copycats and other weirdos, it's also important to see the horrible reality of this kind of violence. A lot of people seem to be disconnected from it and sometimes that makes it easier to say yes to committing some acts.

*said as someone who has not seen any footage of this attack.

I agree with that. Watching these things is sickening but, perhaps somehow paradoxically, I think it raises my humanity and empathy. The last time I saw something extremely violent (it was a video of narcos torturing and killing, but the worst they have ever done) I didn't manage to sleep for some good 5 or 6 hours, felt sick for days, nearly created a thread here about it. I had seen plenty, but that was the last straw, the worst of the worst, and I'm convinced worst evil than that I'll never see, only equal. However, the consequence of that, is that every time I see something in the news relating a similar event, I feel more revolted than I used to, and I don't think that is a bad thing at all.

Another example was a car crash I witnessed when I was 19. I saw two colleagues die (not even an immediate death, which made it far far worse), completely helpless to do something about it, but what that did was change my stance about driving and safety for the rest of my life. I'm not fundamentalist about many things, but safe driving is one of them, and to this day, even a three-line non-descriptive bit of news about a death on the road makes me feel worse than I should. As much as one would be led to think "I wish I hadn't seen that", I do think it made me get a more complete view of reality, and I desire that.

I want to watch the video of this incidence. I won't do it now, will give it some distance, a few weeks, but it's something I feel almost obliged to do, as much as it costs.

That said, there are people who get off on watching these things, they literally masturbate to it. Sick sick world. And it's right here in the palm of our hands to explore. Haunting.

I feel the same way. I watched it last night out of some weird feeling I had of a duty to do it.

I think that feeling comes from a class I took on the Holocaust where our professor made us watch Nazi home videos of killings. He said we should watch so that it’ll never be forgotten. I guess that got ingrained into my brain about tragedies like this. I used to not want to watch these kinds of things.

I wonder if legalizing prostitution might be the out of the box solution to keep these disaffected people away from internet radicalization. These are clearly some frustrated, rejected and lonely young men who have more time on their hands to find reasons as to why the world is passing them by.

Just when you thought the world couldn't get any more insane, this happens. Slaughtering people in a house of prayer beggars belief. You have to be a special kind of evil to do that.

I don't think it would. Afaik tell incels would only ever be interested in clean, obedient, beautiful, blonde virgins. So I'm not quite sure if sex would be the cure for their problems. I think a shrink might be the better solution.

The problem of these videos is that it embolden others around the world to do the same. And watching them and sharing them makes it worse

Then you subject prostitutes to the filth. Would have to be in safe spaces and hopefully, they're no longer on the street.

The people do no need to hunt for food in developed countries - but with our lifestyle we so much interfered into the wildlife of our woods, that some species do not have a natural enemy anymore and like that grow in a way that is not healthy for other species and the woods themselves. So yes - to regulate that we humans have to interfere again to control that. I could not do that - but I do not mind people going to hunt if it is regulated in that forest - and why shouldn't the meat then be eaten especially as a lot think that it is a delikatessen (I do not eat venison either).

Who said people need to hunt in undeveloped country? What do you think living in those countries is like?

Again read what I said, you have reading difficulties I think.

Why would you give a platform that promotes racism and child porn time for? No go look on twitter on how many people are calling out THQ Nordic again for their stupid stunt, so no I’m not the only person. Go look on the various gaming forums too. I didn’t say they were responsible for shootings, which you have trouble reading. Shall I bold it for you?

I'm sorry my learning disability (yes, I actually have one) is so apparent and frustrating to you. It's something I have struggled with all my life. No, you don't have to bold anything for me but perhaps you can better clarify the point you're trying to articulate?

49 people have died at the hands of a terrorist and you seem to think a video game company doing an accidental interview on a shitty website is a platform for all this? You specifically said they gave them attention and platform. So what do you mean by that?

What about Facebook for livestreaming the entire thing? What about Reddit that have subreddits like r/the_donald that promote racism and islamophobia? What about Google/YouTube for refusing to ban Tommy Robinson? Those seem like much more popular platforms with dangerous rhetoric.

THQ Nordic did not give 8chan a platform. That platform was already there. Their CEO issued a public apology, what more do you expect them to do? This terrorist didn't go around saying this mass murder is for THQ Nordic, the obscure video game company from Sweden.

These events have been happening long before THQ Nordic did the interview on 8chan and they'll continue long after. Look at the Alexandre Bisonettte shooting in Quebec.

If you would rather not have a discussion about your original post that's alright. I was just trying to understand why you hold such a grudge against them for a singular mistake.

I don't think they even have to be white and blond. If any woman regardless of melanin showed an interest they'd jump and change their tune.

Who said people need to hunt in undeveloped country? What do you think living in those countries is like?

I just took that phrase from the poster I quoted. But I just can talk how it is in a country like Germany where all animals that are dangerous for humans or even their farm animals are extinct. There is very controversial opinions in Germany about the wolves that "came back" in some parts of Germany especially because of their killing sprees of sheeps. Or about Bruno the bear that was sighted some years ago in the Alp area.

Maybe not associate with a forum which split from fecking 4chan of all places because they were not allowing child pornography
