This notion that Liverpool have improved their squad depth is a bit of a fallacy. They’ve improved their starting XI, but beyond that, there is still nothing except Shaqiri.

Alisson replaces a keeper.
Fabinho and Keita replace Can, who has left, and Ox who is out for the season.
Shaqiri is in. But Ings will be out.
The players who were starters are now coming off the bench. How is that not an improvement?

Where are the strengthenings in defense? Are you seriously going to trust TAA at RB for the whole season? He was poor towards the end of last season and it was all brushed off by saying he's young etc.

You're still going to be starting with Lovren as first choice CB. Worse yet, if either of those gets injured who are you going to play? Matip? Klavan? Those two are awful. Moreno is probably the worst LB in the premier league. He was ripped to shreds by West Brom.

You didn't replace Coutinho. How are you going to break down packed defenses (which you struggled with last season)? Who provides the creativity from midfield? Henderson?

You have no squad depth. If Salah gets injured, curtains....Shaqiri is not going to replace him.

I think you're exaggerating a bit there.
Lovren was one of the best CBs at the world cup
Matip is not that bad
OK Moreno is bad but they've also got Milner who is competent at LB

If Spurs are the Harry Kane team, then Liverpool, even with Allison, are still most definitely the Mohamed Salah team. I don't reckon they need a Fekir, if they really want to be genuine title contenders next season then they still need another centre back imo. As for right back well they'll maybe have a fit Clyne too this season right? Clyne is a good right back (I don't rate TAA whatsoever).

Edit: Oh and if he counts I actually reckon Darmian is probably the worst left back. Looked out of his depth against Bristol! Mental how these Italian clubs are actually interested in signing him.

They're improving their team a great deal though. All their recent signings - Salah, VVD, Allison, Keita, Robertson etc. are fairly big upgrades over what they already had.

And having Wijnaldum and Milner on the bench improved their bench too.

Matip is awful. He's been making mistakes and was at fault for goals almost every game he's played. Look at the City 5-0 Liverpool to see how awful he is.

If we somehow topped off our window with Toby Alderweireld, I think we would be have a great chance of winning the league. We would probably have the best defence/back five in the league. The team would be complete essentially.

Surely a wum ? Doesnt that full back argument holds good for us as well ? Are we going to trust Dalot,Shaw and 2 converted wingers to be our first choice for whole season?

Liverpool are assembling a solid squad slowly. Time to accept it and look forward!

Alexander-Arnold wasn't poor towards the end of the season. He had a bad game at Old Trafford and a bad first half at Palace but was very good in his other games. Robertson had an excellent season and I would be more than happy with him playing LB all season.

After Coutinho left in January, go back and look at our results. You won't find many games where we failed to break down packed defenses.

How is it a WUM? I don't care. I don't support Man Utd.

Liverpool are assembling a stronger first team but don't get ahead of yourself.

It’s not tough to upgrade on Karius, but it’s tough to upgrade on his looks. I think Alisson just might be more handsome than him.

Is Paul Joyce trying to say that Liverpool’s transfer team are amazing again?

Well he is our mouth piece. For those higher prices we might as well of paid Oblak's release clause.

We are absolutely fecked this season If we don't go and sign players. To see one of your biggest rivals showing the ambition to win trophies by spending the cash and we aren't linked with anyone

I hope in three weeks time I'm totally wrong but it's going to be a title race between City and Liverpool If we don't get our act together

Good signing for scouse. Big improvement for them. Will come with huge pressure though, any mistake will be scrutinized with the other 2 shitshows they have as backup
