Ours and their finishing positions are irrelevant when you look at each club's ambition anyway. United might be playing catch up to City but we're in a better position than anyone else, and clearly making the right steps.Yet still players want to come here from Arsenal. I wonder why that might be?
Before you say money, consider that Arsenal are one of the most cash-rich teams in the world and United have one of the lowest % spends on wages in the Premier League.
That's not what Jose meant:I saw a quote from Mourinho this morning and he said "With Sanchez, we will have four players for the THREE forward positions"
Which to me means, Griezmann & Dybala are not on the menu, and that we are going 4-3-3...!!
https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...manchester-united-so-close-says-jose-mourinhoMourinho said he not spoken to Sánchez but will welcome adding a world-class talent to a forward line that again lacked ruthlessness against a well-drilled Burnley.
“In this moment there is no competition for places, we have four attacking players for three positions [behind Romelu Lukaku],” he said of Martial, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford and Juan Mata. “Three are starting, one is on the bench, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic] was not available for [nearly all] the season. We look to the attacking areas and need that extra competitive internal competition and more solutions for us.”
De GeaWhere would you rank Sanchez among all the current premier league players? Easily top 10 for me...
If I were to rank, I'd go
1. De Gea
2. De Bruyne
3. Kane
4. Sanchez
5. Pogba
6. Hazard
So, who gets to choose which hat is eaten?I've more chance of signing for United.
Of course I am willing to eat my hat on video and post it here if I'm wrong.
Two I'd say. A backup striker so we can rest lukaku at times and a mata upgrade. He doesn't put up the kind of numbers we need in terms of goals and assists. Now the big question, will Sanchez suffice or do we need to pursue another attacking player in the summer?
I'd argue that getting Carrick from Tottenham in 2006 was a massive piece of bussiness aswell, they were still a mid table team but were slowly already constructing the structure which would turn them into top four contenders nowadays.Serious question (assuming this goes through):
Is this the biggest ever '1 UP' transfer for Utd?
- we're taking Arsenal's best player
- who was very much courted by City
- who apparently both Chelsea and Liverpool were also interested in
- well below market value
It's pretty tasty isn't it?!
Not sure who the other transfer contenders are but recent memory says:
- Cantona from Leeds
- Cole from Newcastle
- Van Persie from Arsenal
(each of those contributed massively to a Premiership medal... good omen!)
Good call, from all the way on November 10th 2017.A bid will hopefully be made by us in January he would be a breath of fresh air replacing Mykytarin or Mata in the starting 11.
United is in transition. We had too many ageing players in 2013 which caused United declining so quickly. LVG and Moye failed transfer window and couldn't get beat out of them. Under Jose, we seem to be more progressed, we spent most of our time in the 2nd placed league and comfortably going through to the quarter-final in UCL. Our scouting/transfer window has improved dramatically in recent years. United have beaten Arsenal 4 time than Arsenal beaten United 2 time in the league since the 2013-14 season. I think we are doing a lot of better than expected.United have not finished ahead of Arsenal in years.
Perhaps Champions League but it's of course mainly the money.Yet still players want to come here from Arsenal. I wonder why that might be?

Mata will be off soon. He's too old now. His retirement home is already reserved. Two I'd say. A backup striker so we can rest lukaku at times and a mata upgrade. He doesn't put up the kind of numbers we need in terms of goals and assists.
Rookie mistake, just ask @VanGaalEra, @Ángel Di MaríaI have a couple of Arsenal supporting friends who named themselves after Sanchez when playing Sunday league football.
This will be awkward.
It should be more. We came to your house and put 3 past you ending your unbeaten streak only to have it called 'luck'Perhaps Champions League but it's of course mainly the money.
You guys are 12 points ahead of us but it's not a true reflection of the gap between the two teams.
When was the last time arsenal won the premier league?United have not finished ahead of Arsenal in years.

It's hard to beat the Matacopter though....Stole this from internet 13:00 - 17:00 most likely under Jose

Let's talk when arsenal have the spine to win Europe or the league again.Perhaps Champions League but it's of course mainly the money.

he is sick with arsenal rubbish mentality ,you guys have no ambition and happy to just getting 4th place all over the years.. RVP realize it back then , and now sanchez too, i wonder when will fans also realize it
It's true we don't and we are quite a far way off that but so are United.Let's talk when arsenal have the spine to win Europe or the league again.
I plead the shaggy defense on this one

WTF? That's an odd comparison from the guy who was drooling bitter vile just a day ago.According to Keown: Manchester United have pulled off a coup to sign Alexis Sanchez... he's the closest thing to a modern-day Ian Rush

I'm happy go to along with legend.
Until he says something negative about us anyway.
He's evolved on it.WTF? That's an odd comparison from the guy who was drooling bitter vile just a day ago.
Exactly. Yes, he would be guaranteed to win a PL title this year. But would he have any sense of accomplishment for that when he joins a team that has it effectively won already?"he only come for money , not trophies, if he wanted trophy he would have went to city"
since when city has winning tradition ? they aren't juve nor bayern munich who won the league every season
even our michael carrick has more silverware than city whole history,
they treat Pep like some kind of football deity who guaranteed to win trophy every season
real madrid probably won't finish above atletico this season but it doesn't mean they are lesser club, if sanchez comes to city , he will be just bandwagoning their title win this season , with us he could be our main man, our catalyst , sanchez is 29 , when he was a kid ,he only witness united winning EPL , never city
Yeah, all those insults, it was just friendly joshing!I've always admired him...even when I called him a scouse twat. Many times.
