Alexis Sanchez | Done deal

Doom merchant here.

Sanchez might prefer living in London. One could also argue Chelsea are at the same level as us, only 3 pts behind in the league. And they have won the league twice more than us in the last 5 years. Don't rule them out I say!
 In what world would someone chose to play for Chelsea over United?

Chelsea can't rival us on wages. They're going through austerity. Sanchez is only interested in playing for United or City and it appears he's made his choice already.

So, Miki was "rested" for our game today, after he'd just had about 9 days in Dubai.
And Sanchez was "rested" for AFC's game yesterday.
Are we finally going to see a swap (+ cash) deal happen? I thought swap deals are the thing of mythology.

Really? He's one of the best players in the league if not the world. Just turned 29. If my club can afford him I see absolutely no negatives to the signing given the low fee evens out any potential deal.
+ it'll hopefully stop any Bale related speculation, aka fake news, in the press!

So Jose basically confirmed the deal is done one way or another with his quote. Either Mkh is involved or we sign Alexis straight up.

I got a different vibe from his interview. To me it didn't look like he's confident at all that we are signing Sanchez. His comment that other clubs are also involved though does tilt the odds in our favor because we know that City ended their interest. Don't know what to make from his comments.

Does he work for City? Does that piece he's written appear on their website? Does it have their club branding on it?

It's very clearly not a club statement, it's a journalist reporting based on a briefing. By your logic you could call any number of tweets from journalists "club statements".

I already corrected myself when I replied to duffer. It's a clear briefing though. Posted by perhaps the greatest source in England for this transfer. But you see all journo's running with the same story at the same time?

Jamie Carragher's bitterness over Sanchez's ethics
I just read the debate between him and Neville. It's crazy how offended the footballing world is about the Sanchez move. I've never seen anything like it before.

Wait, what are we paying Arsenal then? Mkhi is worth £30m easily, so we better not be paying £30m on top of that for Sanchez.

Actually feck it, it’s Alexis Sanchez - who cares?!

I actually think Sanchez to Chelsea makes more sense than Sanchez to City.

Staying in London, a few old team mates, and a manager that has tried to sign him once before.

Luckily for us, Jose has worked his magic yet again, and I feel it’s only a matter of time now before he’s donning that number 7 shirt

Nothing will happen for 48hours Wenger said.
Not gonna happen. Arsenal will want the Malcom transfer to happen first.
Pretty sure he said within 48 hours, but logic aside, have you read this thread? People's heads may actually explode. United fans will be collapsing in the street. Passing out while driving. Naming their children "Alexis 7". All by 5 o'clock tomorrow if this isn't finalised. If it is then we'll all just go about our daily lives with a smug smile.

Pundits are really butt hurt over this.
They just don't like the idea of MCFC and Pep being beaten anywhere.

People need to stop bringing up cost. Sanchez makes our front line better and he cost way less than that guy Barcelona just bought from Liverpool.

Well, after Jose's comments I reckon the deal can be done if Mkhitaryan goes to Arsenal, bit if not I think Whether we should pay more which can be a problem or Arsenal block the deal and let him leave for free next summer which also not logic, so what can Chelsea offer? A player plus cash, that might suit Arsenal. So hopefully Mkhitaryan just leave he can get more game time than here surely so just go.

Mkhi should be enough. I really hope we aren't planning on giving them 20-25m on top.
