The Fifth Redcafe Sheep Draft

Can you link me to your official declaration of this in this thread?

Its entirely unreasonable to expect new players to go find some sheep draft from 4 years ago and read the entire thread to find this alleged precedent that was established that allegedly keepers are not expected to be available in some insanely narrow last turn criteria pool.

That absolutely was not true of the 4th Sheep Draft - the only sheep draft I participated in.

Drafts are supposed to be fun.

Draft "mods" are supposed to be there to facilitate the fun of the players not to feck with their heads for their own perverse enjoyment.

If you have any intention of not giving us an actual keeper (and thus creating a pointless R1 auto-loss so no reason to even have a match thread), a sheep obviously is expected if we fail 3 turns I want to know now.
The whole keeper thing is an ongoing discussion every draft.

This is probably the least perverse non-snake draft ever. We've made most rounds wide open, particularly these latter rounds so anyone needing some sort of player could have a shot at completing their side.

The flipside is, if you didn't make sure that was dealt with this is the round were you suffer for the lack of foresight/respect for individual roles.

I know it's tougher on you because you had sheep and were playing catch up so had your reasons, but this was designed in advance. You guys played it out.

For the record, there are keepers and pretty damn good players across the board. If many of you desperately need the same one/type as a 14th player you should look at yourselves, not point at the mods.

Do you expect a goalkeeper to be available in every round?

TBH yes. I have no idea why anyone should expect they wouldn't be available last round when every other pool has them available.

Anyway green_smiley said everyone would have an actual goalkeeper, sheep or not, so lets drop it now as my question was answered.

We've always handed out sheep in roles a team had unattended, or in line with what the manager was trying to pick.

It's funny you have this idea we are a bunch of sadist. For all the acrimonious Hot T1 exchanges, what you guys didn't realise is we largely rejected certain blocks. There was one particular player that would have been 6-8 symultaneous fails!

My only question was regarding whether or not you would hand out Sheep Keepers to people lacking a keeper or whether you would just assign a sheep striker thus leaving the team with no actual keeper.

In this draft maybe, but in most previous sheep drafts there has been a goal scorer round. Why suddenly assume that won’t happen last round?

As you say point has been answered and we may as well move on, just never understood when people take the risk and then moan that it hasn’t fell kindly to them.

Should have just asked that without the intro and indignation.

I did:

You should have answered without the lecture and holier than thou attitude. I got my answer and was moving on but you and the Peanut gallery want to keep trying to beat a dead horse.

Just drop it now mate

Mine was now a general point that people leave the keeper till last and then complain when there isn’t one available. I just feel people should work under the assumption that some rounds will be locked to specific types of players and therefore best not to leave key positions until the last round.

What if I don’t want a a player this round and am not arsed enough to research for someone random? Could I pass on the round and not get a sheep?

Every single sheep draft people are warned the last round may not have keepers. By the fifth the warning shouldn't be necessary.
Another chapter in the ineptness of your modship. Every 5 year old knows that the keeper is mandated at total-3 rounds at the very minimum in every sheep draft.

Nah, don't think we need to mandate jack. Just let people proritise the XI or dig themselves a hole.

Everyone's a grownup here, why should we mandate anything? Just face the consequences of your decisions.

 Feel sorry for anyone who gets managed by you at work. So bad.
They seem pretty happy.

Rule #1: Make the decision you think is right

And they feel confident as a result

I could treat them as children though, like you seem to do.

100 percent agree with the mods on this. You want to make GKs a integral part of drafting, you shud have rounds like this at the end.

Also, it is only fair to people who got GKs while others were getting Goats

Regarding the sheep - chosen or not - I'd prefer the white sheep on the left.

Block sent.

Going by GS last post now 5 left.

They are seriously like bobby Fischer. Coming to start a game of chess 30 seconds before the time is up

Having spent a couple of hours at the airport trying to come up with a hidden gem, realized this was the most boring round till now. Maybe the league should have been seria a instead with the rest being same. PL is so boring for drafting.

Before anto gets all pissed off again, just saying and not complaining
