We need Periera back for next season fecking shocking that Rooney is getting games at midfield

I wish we would just play some youngsters in positions that are needed. Do we seriously not have a CM youngster that can play next to Carrick?
We probably do but they might not be ready for first team football. By all accounts the players that have been selected the majority it's purely shop window apart from Tuanzebe so we can get some transfer fees like the ones for Blackett and McNair etc.

But hey at least Mourinho's ego will survive unscathed just like vs. Arsenal because "we've given up on EPL, EL is what we're after".

Hope it is Jones in midfield, I'd take anything over 3 at the back. Hate it with a passion, and also asking Tuanzebe to play wingback would be ridiculous considering he's not even a right back, never mind a wing back.

    Could it be ... ?
    A strong english core

If he had put Pogba, Ander, Valencia and others there would be cries why doesn't he rest them. Trust caf to have a good old moan every time.

Would it really be worse than sticking Rooney in CM where we know hes not upto scratch either?

Would be sad if the three subs today are Mkhi, Herrera and Darmian.

He's doing it right. We cannot afford to lose any important players. Also Mata etc need minutes and some could have some involvement in the final.

This could be painful to watch. Our midfield is going to get totally over run. What is Mourinho trying to prove with this team selection? We'd be better off playing the kids.

I couldn't give a crap about the team as long as we rest players for the important game on the 24th. The team is still decent to be fair, and I'm glad Tuanzebe is getting more minutes.

Aye, it's going to be a poor match from us and we'll probably get battered. But at least nothing is on the line so we can quick move on and forget about it.

Not sure why people are moaning about us playing a weaker side. I would rather see players rested. We have nothing to play for in the league now. It's all about the Europa League final on the 24th. We need a fully fit team for that game.

Love him or hate him, nobody can say that Rooney hasn't handled being dropped impeccably this season. He's been given a rare chance to start, is our highest goal-scorer ever and people are pissing and moaning about him playing in a game that means absolutely nothing. Incredible. The absolute state of this place sometims.

Has he been playing for the U-23s since his return from the Wolves loan?
If he's available for the first team then he should be selected. He's got first team experience and is a decent player.

Out of interest what would be a non-embarrassing line-up that rests important players, in your opinion?

I'm going all Roy Keane but we are Man Utd and we should NEVER put out such a dogshit team like that for any competitive game. I wouldn't even expect us to put out that team in a preseason friendly. I'm happy tuanzabe is getting more minutes though.

I know we've got the final coming up but For a club of our stature with the money spent these last few years it is embarrassing which ever way you look at it.

I'd move Blind to midfield and start Mitchell (instead of playing Rooney or both Jones/Smalling). Other than that I don't see any point of moaning about that line-up. We need to rest players.

Fecking embarrassing, setting up for damage limitation against one of our rivals. Not impressed.

Surely the matches where we really look to rest players would be Soton and Palace. Rashford should be playing today.

Of course but people trying to find every reason possible to have a shot at the manager. Just look above.

    No its not.

A strange and angry post there. As if we should shower him with praise just because he's not come out publicly to moan about getting dropped. Being professional is the bare minimum expected from every United player

Has he been playing for the U-23s since his return from the Wolves loan?

Yes he played last week against Arsenal 2-2. Did well, he also signed a contract last season to keep him at the club until 2020. I dont get it. I know his spell at Wolves wasnt great, but he always looked good for us last season.

    We definitely have.

Resting players for EL final. Crazy, I know.
